Hm. 4 hours. That's like an afternoon nap on Torrens. So basically the story is: There is an alien on deserted Sevastopol. Torrens arrives, and its crew manages to completely destroy the trillion-dollar station in 4 hours. Awesome.
The torrens crew weren't directly responsible for Sevastopol's destruction. The anesidora's self destruction destroyed savstopol's orbital stablizers causing it to fall into KG-348's atmosphere
the best moment in the game 1:31:32 just look how did he opened that door ! The master of hackers, or I rather say bug founders. anyway you have my respect. its good that I first played alien and then watched this.
Those deaths at 3.59 must have aggravated you they would have me lol great run tho dude I don't know how you learned where to go everything looks the same to me
I love this game, and i want all achievements. I found your video first on UA-cam and i play with your video on second screen. I took all things, just like you, and i checked every thing two times. I still had 47/50... I didn't kill anyone, and 2 another achievements are still hidden. Thanks for video, but i don't know, at least i tried. :D
if I'm guessing right you hold shift to run and spam c (crouch) whyle running in 90 degree forward so you dont alert any enemies nearby right? (nice speedrun by the way, you seem to know everything about this game) (tagged you on steam BTW)
Barnabás Falvai Silent running is shift + forward + right, then spamming crouch - it only works to the right and you can still make a lot of steps if you turn left, that's why I stop and turn sometimes.
Hi i am having troubles getting live split to work. i cant get it to interface with the game . timing has to be started manually and the timer is not seen when im in full screen. any help would be appreciated
+XxmattitudexX You have to manually split for this game, you either need two screens or play in windowed fullscreen or windowed mode to get Livesplit to work with OBS. Hope that helps.
+dcruze thanks been pulling my hair out thinking i was missing some small obvious setting do you guys ever try the silent speed running tech pressing left strafe instead of right thinking you could switch for left turns so it pulls you around corner instead of doing the crouch turn
It only works when you right strafe, it's because you don't make a sound when you walk forwards and to the right (moonwalking), when it's combined with running and spamming crouch, you get the silent running. When you walk forwards and to the left you still make footsteps.
Where is the alien near the beginning? he is able to spawn in when you get the cinematic with him when he comes out of the vents EDIT: Where is this alien Period!? I've seen people play on the easiest difficulty and get hounded by it!
What is this that you are using to keep track of the logs and tags and such? I'm trying to work through my routing with 100% NMG and I"m have one hell of a time practicing. That looks like it could help a lot.
Look at the speedrun.com site: www.speedrun.com/ai/resources It's an AutoHotkey script that will let you overlay a text file, and lets you scroll the text at will
SEMPERFY ssdd If you have all your health you die at the third shot, it's just that because we don't see the health indicator (talking about my experience) we don't really often make medikit. Usually I had less than 50% so android and shot killed me instantly.
Yes, you strafe right while sprinting, then spam crouch at the same time and you'll run silently. It does not work the other way around, the W+D while walking creates a "moonwalk" effect
It's possible to silent run on PS4 as well, but it's so much harder on a controller than with mouse and keyboard - check out Revas' video on it : ua-cam.com/video/H3ws9m4wRC4/v-deo.html
It's difficult to do on controller, but you could check out Revas' video on psychorunning here on UA-cam, he explains how it's done there. "Alien Isolation Psychorunning on PS4"
It's the same speed as normal sprinting, but it's done silently ... If you strafe to the right while sprinting and at the same time spamming crouch you can run silently, we call it 'psycho-running'
It is because of the silent running technique, where you sprint and strafe to the right while at the same time spamming crouch - she makes that sound when you crouch
I wanna say each chapter took me hours and hours and sneaking and dying. My brother was stuck on the part after you return from the EVA and the xenomorph busts up in the room. A year. That took you what 12 seconds? Lol
Hey again, dcruze. So I got the game on pc and I’m not trying to speedrun, but still trying nightmare. Just curious, what’d you do to get that door open in Gemini Exoplanet Solutions?
Hey dcruze. Can you please tell me something, since you seem knowledgeable about this game. Do you have a list of all the blueprint duplicates and where they're found? For example, you ignored the earliest Medikit V.1 and got it in that next room. And I know you can find it again during the two-man switch section if you missed it. I'd really like to know where all the potential blueprints are, if missed beforehand.
Sure, look up my guide for the game on GameFAQs: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/751155-alien-isolation/faqs/70566 If you search through the walkthrough part of the guide, it lists all the locations. There's also a table towards the end of the guide, but it doesn't list all the locations (maybe it should), instead it has the first location where the blueprint is encountered
@@dcruze Thanks for responding! I checked out your guide and I think I figured out the duplicates now. But it's better if you could tell me if I got it right, at least the numbers of duplicates and missions they're found in. Medikit (V.1) has 4 opportunities. 3 in Mission 2: One in the 0340 storage room, one in big room after that, one in two-man switch section at the end. 1 in Mission 3: During the "Disable security lockdown" objective, on some desk. Flashbang (V.1) has 3 opportunities. 1 in Mission 3. In the tech security area near the dead guy on the chair. 1 in mission 4. In the observatory with all the working Joes. One of the rooms there has an android on the floor that will attack you. Near it. 1 in Mission 12. On top of the counter in the beginning of the mission. Molotov (V.1) has 2 opportunities. 1 in mission 6. The first, famous opportunity. 1 in mission 7. In the room with Archive Log #60. EMP (V.1) has 2 opportunities 1 in Mission 4. Near the registration point in the area where u contact Samuels. 1 in Mission 5. In the nursing room that requires the story-related passcode. Smoke Bomb (V.1) has 2 opportunities. 1 in mission 3. The famous first opportunity. 1 in mission 4, near the end. When you go down the stairwell with the Alien in the vent. Go to the big room to the right. In there. Pipe Bomb (V.1) has 2 opportunities 2 in mission 5. Famous first opportunity. And then another nearby room A-27. Noisemaker (V.1) has 2 opportunities. 1 in mission 4. When u go up the stairwall, remove the security braces in the apparent door, and in there you will find the blueprint on a desk. 1 in mission 5. Near L.Tart's ID Tag in the same room. I assume duplicates are only for V.1 blueprints and not for V.2 and V.3. I also assume you're confident that you found all of them. I read somewhere that someone had found a blueprint for EMP Mines (V.1) in Mission 6, but I guess he misspoke and actually meant Mission 5, which is the mission you listed. If all this information is correct, then there must be 30 potential blueprint locations.
BurN X That is a different category, Any% - and his current record is 2:46:12. Any% is getting through the game as fast as possible, 100% means you have to pick up all the collectibles. You can't for 100%, but for any% it's possible - look at speedrun.com/ai for the Alien: Isolation speedrunning leaderboard. There are a lot of videos there.
It's possible to get the prompt to remove the brace on the opposite side of the door if you crouch down and sort of peek through the door. It saves quite a bit of time
Damn, i still wonder how you get passed the Alien while sprinting XD I get rekt instantly when i sprint with the alien around on normal and hard XD Nice run though :D
why on these speed runs do people skip the cut scenes that's what helps us to understand the story more than just the actions taken on the space station and all?
Before this, I watched a bunch of your shorter videos where you spend a lot of time sprinting and getting away with it by exploiting your knowledge of the AI. So when the very first loading screen tip to come up here was a warning not to run, I laughed. Hard.
This game gets old after about the 3rd or 4th play-through. They should have worked on the game another year before releasing it. Re--do the 2nd half of the campaign with a better story.

I'm sure Weyland Yutani sued Ripley when the whole thing was over.
and i'd reply exactly like Ellen Ripley: "THEY CAN BILL ME"
The torrens crew weren't directly responsible for Sevastopol's destruction. The anesidora's self destruction destroyed savstopol's orbital stablizers causing it to fall into KG-348's atmosphere
Funny seeing you breeze through San Cristobal in seconds when it took me hours and a lot of deaths.
San Cristobal isn't hard unless if you're scared. It took me a while to learn from that too.
MilosCov yeah it was because we were scared to death lmaoo
2:12:42 that gas mask scared me more than any alien encounter so far
agreed
3:59:48 pls
Nice run, bro.
I just finished the game. Loved it!
Poor Ripley, she had been through so much... :(
Matt Yeah but I am pretty sure she was safed in the end.
She survived, in Aliens we find out she died at the age of 66 I believe

I really wish the Marlow chapter could be just skipped after the first time. It just breaks the tempo so badly
I like how EVERY SINGLE container contains ZERO components
I mean, just LOOK at 2:34:42!
this is the ninja style of moving even though there is some percentage of risk involved maybe about 30-40 percent of being caught
Mind blown 🤯 great game play

How on earth did you run through those areas? If I even run a second on accident it calls that bastard down on me
That first death was total bull, but nice run overall!
The Heat Death of the Universe Thanks, I might have avoided the first death if I had built a flashbang - gonna try that next run.
Those deaths at 3.59 must have aggravated you they would have me lol great run tho dude I don't know how you learned where to go everything looks the same to me

It depends on whether you can get there before the androids shut it down, if you're fast you don't have to
As a pretty slow player, this increases my level of stress no end
4:21:31 wait I just realized, second row bottom says G.Ramsey

How do you still live after being shot twice on nightmare right mate I can't even take one and it's over good run do

Were you moving left while running the whole time? I noticed that using W and D arrow keys while moving in pc does not create stomping sfx
Yes, you strafe right while sprinting, then spam crouch at the same time and you'll run silently. It does not work the other way around, the W+D while walking creates a "moonwalk" effect
@dcruze when will be your next live run?
In PS4 nightmare mode. RUN = ALIEN DEATH.
It's possible to silent run on PS4 as well, but it's so much harder on a controller than with mouse and keyboard - check out Revas' video on it : ua-cam.com/video/H3ws9m4wRC4/v-deo.html
Great play through. Is it possible to psycho run on Xbox? I tried but I'm probably doing it wrong.
It's difficult to do on controller, but you could check out Revas' video on psychorunning here on UA-cam, he explains how it's done there. "Alien Isolation Psychorunning on PS4"
+dcruze will do, thanks for the help I'm subbing.
What was that run crouching kind of thing you were doing? also what is a psycho run?
They are the same thing, psychorunning is just a nickname for silent running in Alien Isolation.
no, it's part of the game - if it was a hack it wouldn't be allowed for this type of speedrunning
If I were the alien...
I would be scared of this guy
Are you running in a different way? She is making too many voice and seems faster than usual.
It's the same speed as normal sprinting, but it's done silently ... If you strafe to the right while sprinting and at the same time spamming crouch you can run silently, we call it 'psycho-running'
Thanks, I didn't know this, despite playing it at least 4 times.
Question... What's with the noises coming from Ripley?? I dont understand
Lol
Why do I feel that Ripley is in a rush?
Wouldn't you be in a rush if an 8 foot tall alien was in your immediate vicinity? I know I'd bug out and call it even.
