- Welcome Period Six Designs!
This is my little YT channel where I share my love of crafting with the world. Today I am etching those glitter wine glasses we made last week! You all came strong in the comments (much appreciated) and said YES to the etching so here it is. Tried to keep this one short as etching isn't as complicated as I thought it was. Links to everything belo. And go don't forget to like, comment and subscribe!

MA'AM!!! DONT YOU DARE CHANGE UP YOUR COMMENTARY!!! I absolutely love it!! You're funny and soooo relatable!! So glad I found your channel!! They look amazing!!!
I etch glass. I have found that when you use a paint brush you get a deep and smooth etch. I do not use expensive ones either I get a huge pack of soft bristles at Michaels for less than 5.00.
The way you talk is the reason I only watch your tutorials. Your funny and very easy to follow. Thank you so much
I like you talking and explaining everything in detail. These look amazing btw.
Don't stop talking! It's very informative. If they don't want to hear you, they can hit that volume button.
My new favorite craft channel! You've fueled my crafting fire! Thank you for these amazing videos!
I love that you talk. I’m new at this so if I don’t have you talking I would not watch. I don’t watch videos that don’t talk. Thank you so much
I usually do not like hearing the excess talking, but you gave very useful information. I am so happy to have found your videos. You are great.
Also, I’m not sure if you mentioned it, but when your time is up, you can scrape the cream back off and put it back in your jar. I’ve been using the same jar for the last year ☺️
Yes! Me too!
I was going to say that as well I have watched several videos and they all scrape the excess and put it back in the jar
I’ve watched others do this and they scrape off the excess before washing to save the cream. They say it is reusable. Love this.
Talking through the process is great for learners like me.... lol at “like hair relaxer”
Also your voice is kinda relaxing to me.
I LOVE the commentary! You explain everything very well with out dragging it on. I have very much enjoyed your videos! Im inspired to glitter and etch all my wine glasses!
LOVE the commentary girl don’t change !!! You’re so real and had me cracking up. Also I think it’s pretty awesome how humble you are and Those came out sooooo good for it to be your first go.
Great video, and I appreciate the commentary, especially when something is new to me. We know how to mute or turn down the volume if we only need the visual. 😊😊 Thanks for sharing and going the extra mile to find instructions! 💕
I find your commentary very helpful. Don't change a thing lady!!
I am glad you talked the whole time That’s why I kept watching! They look beautiful!
Me too!
Lool slap it on like relaxer! Love this, informative and fun
So happy I found this page and I really enjoying the talking it helps me learn better
I like you’re commentary... don’t change a thing 🥰
Great job! I use this stuff all the time. Just a little tip, you can save the cream after you use it on the glass. You don't have to wash it all off. It will go farther. I use a small paint brush or one of those sponge brushes to apply it and remove it.
the commentary truly helps; don't stop; DON'T STOP!! PLEASE do a video on free fonts and how we can get them.
I’ve been etching a lot lately and I would have streaks after I removed the stencil and it NEVER occurred to my big dumb self that it could be the bubbles that I wasn’t smoothing out lol I’m so thankful for you and your videos Monica!
Enjoy your videos continue to talk, explain or tell jokes, stories of your experience.. what ever you want to do. I enjoy it and it is all so helpful. Thank you for taking your time to make videos. Notification and Bell is on. 😊
Aw man, these are beyond awesome! Thank you!! I love your teaching style-don’t change a thing. Again, thank you for the video.💕
Talk talk talk... I love to listen to you
You have a calming voice and a happy giggle. Keep talking. Lol
OMG I am so so so glad I found you!!! And now I’m running to Amazon for some safety glasses so I can get busy
I don't mind the commentary. You are giving useful information
Agreed! Don't you stop talking! It helps a lot! and unlike others I just watched 3 of your videos and probably gonna watch more! thanks for adding links to the things you use because I am new to this and you have inspired me!
welcome! happy crafting!
@@PeriodSixDesigns thank you!
Well, now I have to look into getting some of that Armour Etch! I always love watching your vids and my glitter projects (using your glitters of course) have turned out wonderfully! Keep your amazing commentary and continue to show us this fabulous art 😍
Vell done. Glasses are beautiful. TFS. FUN VIDEO..❤️
Awesome video!! I love the full commentary. It is a huge help when I'm trying to learn how to do something. I just turn down the volume if I don't need the commentary. Thank you for the video!
Gril, I love your videos. I just found you yesterday and have watched so many. You are doing great. Thank you for uploading.
Not the relaxer! 😂😂 yours turned out so good! I just tried for the first time and it was less than perfect 🧐
I leave mine on for about 10 mins, rinse and dry, then peel. You can really see the effect! It will only etch as much as it can and then stop so more solution won't make a deeper etch and neither will leaving it on for more than 1 min. I just did this as a Christmas gift for my dad's wife and also did several other pieces. I also found that when you print straight, you can eliminate the folding and cupping of the vinyl by using an exacto knife to cut where it's cupping and just line up the letter edges so you keep the shape it's supposed to be. A heat gun (or a hair blow dryer) may also help in allowing you to stretch the vinyl. And if nothing else, you can cut small decorative stuff like leaves, to cover any imperfections where the etch may have leaked. I hope this helps!
I’m a new viewer of your channel and I personally love the commentary, I etched some glasses for my wedding and I followed the instructions and only left it for a minute and ended up have to realign the stencil and put it on thicker for a lot longer and it worked better for me
I love your commentary! When rinsing the etching cream off peel off the vinyl at the same time. I find that warm water makes it easier. Everything else was perfect. Thank you for sharing!💖
Finally someone from my home state Denver on yt.
Love your projects!
Love your commentary and your videos.
I just found you and love you already! I love the commentary throughout the entire video!
That is amazing. Thank you for sharing.
These are gorgeous. ❤️🌷
Completely agree with Crystal Ronk’s comment. Thanks you giving us thorough explanation. You are awesome 🤩
I've been using etching cream for years (even before Cricut if you can imagine lol!) I ALWAYS glob it on good like that lol! When I painted it on with a "reasonable" thickness it came out streaky or not completely etched. I also leave mine on for at least 15 minutes. You never know how long your etching cream has been sitting on a store shelf. Some of the older bottles need a little more time to work. So no worries if you want to leave it on longer. The only method of yours I would change would be to mask off more of your glass. I'm hopeless with drips and globs so I need to guard my glass from messy mishaps lol! Thanks so much and keep up the GREAT work!
Hey I have etched a couple of times and I learned that to protect the glass you don’t want etching on to tape around the stencil. I did some shot glasses and some cream dropped on the glass outside of the stencil. Beautiful glasses
So humble and fun to watch, makes me actually wan to do it !
OMG I love your videos. Just found you and I didn't even know etching cream existed!!! So excited!
I love your channel and videos, they're so helpful. Keep doing them as you do. I tried etching after watching your last video and it was really easy. Yes, I would also like instructions on downloading the free fonts. Thanks 😊
Thank you! Loved the video! Yes to finding fonts online.

Just started watching your videos! Love them!!
Thank you for explaining it help alot love all the crafts.
Beautiful work!👌
These are beautiful. I'm going to try and make some this week. 😁
I love that I'm saying they're video on this I just thought that a etch cream last week just on a wim at Micheals and it's really easy to do. Also it's crazy saying that you use the Dollar Tree vinyl for transfer paper because I made a purchase at Joanne's online and half was canceled including my transfer paper so I saw the clear vinyl yesterday at Dollar Tree when I was there getting my clear Christmas bulbs and some trays to make for Christmas and thought maybe it might work... I see it is working pretty good for you...
Thank you so much for sharing!! They look fantastic!! I'll definitely be trying these. I should be able to find all the products in the UK. You really explain everything well. Thank you again. 🤗
Your commentary got you a new subscriber :)
Thank you. I have this stuff somewhere put away and been nervous to use it. 😂
your tutorial and info is much appreciated 😊😊
Love this. Im thinking about getting a cricut or silhouette and always looking at different thing to do with them. And btw.. your nails are gorgeous. I love them.
Glad you are talking! Helps understand exactly what to do!!!💯☺️ When you went to get the etching cream off what did you do? Wash it with warm water upside down?
This is awesome!
I found you by accident and I call it divine intervention lol. I would love to find out how to get free fonts on the internet. Your method seems so easy please continue the good work.
I’m loving this!! I didn’t even wanna learn this I’m about to order !!! Thank you for sharing you are awesome 👏🏾
I did some on Father's day a d some came out perfect some didn't. But I will give this another go . I have a big jar of it
I love your videos, talking and all,
I know this is an older video, but um... I agree with these first couple of comments I see on here, don't change the commentary! I think it's way better, because you talk through your mistakes and what you found that works better. Just sayin'! LOL
Just found your channel and I’m really enjoying it. Thanks for your commentary I appreciate hearing why you are doing the steps you are doing.
Fun and funny (I guess I thought it was hair straightener, Lol). Good video!

Yes, to adding fonts. Nice
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE these!!! I can’t wait to replicate! Do you remember how many inches high each decal was?
New subscriber here, I like the taking. You give great information
Beautiful 🥰🥰 can you use the adhesive vinyl for that instead of the edging?
Awesomeness What vinyl did you use please
New subscriber and I LOVE! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! Been binge watching for 3 days now😂😂😍 I have so many ideas of glasses & tumblers I'll be making BLING soon.😄😄
I personally like how you explain in detail how to create to them. You've mention that you do your own nails. Have you considered or be willing to do a tutorial with you doing your nails?
Praying for continued success and blessings for you.
Thank you! I actually have a more beauty related channel but I dont get to post as often as i like so most of the time when you see my nails here it will never make it the channel over there ua-cam.com/users/crimsontide913
@@PeriodSixDesigns Thank you so much. I'll just add this channel to my binge watch list☺️☺️😂 ☺️😌❤️
Love this!! What do you think about just using a stencil and glitter with mod podge for sticking and top coating?
Beautiful!!
Hi I am new to your group!! I am from Pa and I love all kinds of craft! I just happened across your page and I just Love it!!! I had to tell you this because it is Great! You showed me some things I didn't know could be done!!!! Thank you very much!!! Now back to watching some more of your videos. Do you have a Facebook page also???
Thank you! Im from Pittsburgh! and yes and we have people creating some really cool stuff so please join us facebook.com/groups/periodsixglitter
I love it. What font is that again
Do you think this Etching material will work also on Plastics tumblers?
I love your video ❤️ I’m just starting using my silhouette cameo and don’t know how to get different fonts. What font is that you are using? Your glasses are very beautiful 😻
I'm a beginner as well. Keep the videos coming
DaFont is free.
Beautiful! How do you change the fonts?
Good morning can you tell me which is the better option when using mod pauge. Do I use the hard coat then add glitter and repeat.
So I feel completely dumb for this but I honestly thought the machine itself did the etching. I kept trying to figure out how it did it without breaking the glass so I told myself I'd figure it out later bc it was annoying me lol but thanks to you, I now know I was 1000% all the way off..I had a moment yall, don't judge me lol. I love the turnout, now I can finally go buy the armor etch
I wonder how this works on colored glasses? 🤔 But great job! I like LOTS of talking(instruction) in the begining, then straight demonstration in the end. You did great sis!!! Thanx
i think if the glass is already colored it should work the same
It looks great on colored glass and plates also. I have also used it on mirrors and picture frame glass
Loved the video!! Which kind of vinyl did you use? Would definitely love to see how to do the fonts.
its oracle 651 - you can get it by the sheet at michaels
I attempted etching today and I had the hardest time with printing the vinyl and getting it on the transfer tape. I think I know what I did wrong. I will try again tomorrow.
I need the video downloading fonts to Silhouette. Have you already done a video on this?
Do you color and/or paint your etching at all?
Beautiful work very detailed in explaining and sharing information..Keep doing what you do 👏🏾👏🏾
Love it ❤
Hi im a new subscriber, just wondering if u use epoxy to seal the glitter?
What kind of vinyl did you use for the etching?
PS- I thoroughly enjoy your tutorials!!!😀
thank you...its oracle 651 - you can get it by the sheet at michaels
You can scrape the excess off and put it back in the bottle. That way you are not wasting product.
What were your measurements for the names? Beautiful
Hey hey I am a new subscriber... I was just gifted a shilloette and have no idea what I am doing... Along with showing how to get free fonts can you do a beginners guide for the shillouette
Luv it
