    Sometimes, it's probably just better to keep your head down, work on yourself, and become the high-quality person that you'd want to be friends with

    What Rich said at the end is so spot on. SO many people talk about things they have no real experience of, or regurgitate things they heard and try to pass it off as their own. It honestly makes it difficult to make friends because I just dont believe many people at all.

    I've had several long term friendships come to an end and many more not be what they use to be. I'm 48 and thankful for everyperson that has let me share in their life.

      summed it up well, remember the good times you shared, realise some things dont last forever, things and people change, and hopefully your personal/relationships changes have been for the better overall in your life.

    You can always confront them with love & reason. If they are decent they will see where you are coming from, and respect your attitude to life. If not they will walk away themselves. What I often do is join social events but stay much shorter than most of my peers, either leaving very early or coming too late, to get the dose of social interaction without neglecting my projects : )

    Excellent description on how addiction develops over time. It may be accelerated or slower in each individual, but it's always fun in the beginning, always. And we put ourselves through hell trying to recapture that beginning as we fall into addiction and all of the consequences that go with it.

    Great subject! I find it harder as I age to find like minded people At work I find I’m more quite and just listen to others speak .. it is quite boring to listen to them .. I’m a hairstylist so do find those clients who share a vibe with and keeps me going⭐️✌🏻

    Minute 4:40 what Chris is talking about is neglect. Neglectful friends / relationships are hard because the abuse is invisible. You are not seen. There is nothing wrong... as much as there is simply nothing there. Neglect in any relationship is probably the most confusing form of psychological torture. The other person seems fine with you because they do not even, truly, see you. But you feel miserable and alone.

    I have friends that are good guys but don't have ambition if i'm honest. Maybe, its just the way I feel but I don't know what to do about it. Like i'm kind of sick of the status quo. Its that complacency theory that Chris was talking about people that live a life their ok with and have basic needs met but are hurting themselves in the process. I just want to be around people that'll push me out of my comfort zone.

    3:48: 💔 The nightclub scene is portrayed as full of energy and romance, but also a place of loneliness for some individuals.
    6:48: ! It is important to be selective about the people you spend time with and seek out high-minded individuals who can provide guidance and inspiration, especially in the absence of internet resources like podcasts and shows.
    10:14: 🌟 The speaker admires their friends who do extraordinary things and handle difficult situations with courage and bravery.

    Short answer, leave them behind. Friends don't drag you down...

  • @dxfifa
    @dxfifa Рік тому +1

    It depends on what you're doing. A friend not supporting you making your own trades business or lifestyle shift is one thing. A friend not supporting you when your ambition is hijacked into joining an MLM scam where if you make money you are scummy, or not supporting you taking ridiculous risks is different.
    A lot of people get on this positivity, self improvement, 5 closest people, level up, reject 9-5 shit and go down the wrong path and sell out friendship for dreams of success. There are two sides to it

    Over the years I've been very fortunate enough to not have close friends and if I did it was only temporary. Like we never went out we never went to the movies together whenever it wants to go eat at a place together if it was always co-workers for friendships during work. So am I lucky and fortunate to have this happen because the last thing I want is to have a group of friends where we're cursed were the friends are constantly like bragging on each other or saying rude things to each other like as if they're trying to degrade you in an email like sense but then they'll say that they like you type of scenario you know so I just try to avoid that crap. Now recently I have been in contact with an old high-school buddy that I rarely spoke with very high school he has a girlfriend so but you know I'm reluctant to continue the the conversations but you know I'm going to do what I can to at least meet up with him every once in awhile to go out to eat to see if this is a person that I really want to hang out with.

    I would have been better off ditching the low class people instead of dragging them along and allowing them to use me. I let people use me in my 20s because A I was not aware or I was lonely. In hindsight I would have gained self-esteem from saying fuck you leave rather than finding out later they were not my friends.
