As a white teen growing up in the 70's, I never could get enough funk. The old school music of the 70's and early 80's was the best, especially funk and soul. Sure do miss those days. Best days of my life...and the best music, too!!
Sad to say these days are gone real bands real music real lyrics I could go on for hours about this type of music but the good thing is we can relive those memories by seeing and hearing things like this there will never ever be music like this again all the work ethnics have changed it's just about the money have a good day
I like this because in those days, brothers were not afraid to smile, look happy and radiant some positive energy. I miss that and I think that was important to see as a small black boy in those days.
Man you ain't lied, I totally feel you! This is the stuff my dad raised me on, and he was a very stoic old school black man. He was a Vietnam vet, who grew up in the Pratt City neighborhood of Birmingham Alabama before the end of segregation. His dad was a coal miner in the Pratt mine. He was usually a VERY intense and serious man. Get some of his funk or soul music goin and he'd genuinely be happy, smiling, singing along. Which was a very rare sight, some of my favorite memories of my pops, God rest his soul.
God I miss bands like Con funk Shun. The eighties had the best of the best. There are just too many bands to mention. The Gap band, Rick james Cameo, Bar Kay’s , Whispers, midnight Star, The Deele, RFTW. The Time. It goes on and on. A era that will never come again. Today’s music I’m sorry to say just plan sucks.
OMG You just hit a HOMERUN with those comments 4SURE ‼️💃🕺💃🕺🔥Great music like this doesn't have a time stamp 🎯💕🤗💋💖🙌🏿🌟🎉✨️Still listening how about Dec 12 2023😊💃🕺💃
And what put the icing on a cake is that they played their own instruments, not this Push a button on a computer to make a drum sound to make a guitar sound because if you put it in context, someone had to play those instruments to begin with in order for the computer to imitate them. I love how Felton pilot goes from playing the trombone to sing into going back to playing the trombone pure talent.
I love this group! They are vintage now but their sound is still great! I’m still listening and just love them so much!! Voices, outfits, it all works for them!!
No one today, can top Con Funk Shun! Felt on and Michael, were and still are multi talented!! I've got to be enough!!! Ouu Think about it! Priceless!! 🎶💋🎷💞🎸💋🎶
The difference in today and back then was your talent meant everything, today all you need is a bunch of tattoos a blunt, sagging' pants and broken english and some derogatory rhymes and you're a musician even though you never picked up an instrument in your life. I know its by design stardom is a trap.
Hahahah you got that right lol these brothers can sing , hold and play instruments at the same time that's genius !!! There no group today can do what they do
Mint Condition....those guys are amazing! Pretty Brown eyes is such a badass tune - perfect blend of amazing harmonies and raw musicianship. Those guys can play! Believe In Us is a gem as well...
And that's what is missing with singers today. Love their smiles especially Felton and Michael. I could see why there was a love triangle with another woman lol.
They had to do away with this how else r u going to steal God ppl soul I read when alex the butcher said when he got to n afrika we were jamming so hard with our band on the battlefield he had to take his men off the battlefield they were dramatized by the soul to the music we bad y'all just wake up brother Musa daroo shabazz's
Doesn't take away from the fact that they really could play and sing. They were an honest to god BAND who actually played real instruments. Like so many others from that era. Don't get it twisted.
Melody Sanger So sad that person needs to be executed unmercifully by every limit of the law R.I.P. Thank God for the second amendment that Dems want to take away Don't let it happen 🇱🇷
Funk France is Disco-Funk internet radio station found on iTunes. I listen to it during my morning shower. They play good ol skoo stuff, like this song.
They are what I call REAL men! Both with the manly look and BODY coupled with the sex appeal... then to imagine them singing the lyrics of this song to you.... Honey Please!
I remember lunchtime at Pasadena High School in the quad area the DJ would promote the dances at the Civic Center and the quad would be packed when this jam came on..... 1980’s great era for funk bands !!!
i love how at 2:12 he loses where his trombone stand is and sets it on the other guys stand but doesnt loose composure gets the mike and goes into his part.
If you were a band your stuff had to be on point back then. And Con Funk Shun was definitely on point they can sing they can dance. They can play instruments and do it all on point young folks nowadays. They know nothing about this!!!
Wow, just stumbled across this - amazing! I remember Con Funk Shun from back in the day but have never been able to find anything on them - it was almost as though they only existed in my head. Love it!
+Alek Arvizu I met him one night as well I think in 1992. Another DJ buddy of mine was good friends with him. Good times back in the day with all the classics.

I don't care what anyone says this song has more groove than any song ever written( and that's saying a helluva lot.)
That's how bands put it down when I was a young in'!! Back then you had to be the real deal or you couldn't even dream of being on a stage!
