- please do not ask me why i decided to do this instead of studying for finals
speaking of, i'm taking my last finals of freshman year this week! so wish me luck!!
today i am trying to take the LSAT, which is the US law school admissions exam. i am not a law student or a pre-law undergrad. i have barely finished my first year of studying linguistics and communications. i have no reason or qualification or study preparation to take this... so i hope you find this entertaining. it was very difficult but kind of fun?? i am a strange human.

She's taking tests she doesn't even have to take....peak Hermione granger mode
I do that sometimes too lol cause I wanna see how smart I am
she's so used to listening to her lectures in 1.25 playback speed that she started speaking in 1.25 speed now
Yeah I was like, I didn't sped this up why is it getting so fast
wait really i always listen to her videos in 1.25 speed
i always watch youtube and listen to podcasts at 2x speed (and talk that way too, come to think of it...) so this sounded normal / slow to me lolol
I thought that she spoke at normal/slow speed
exactly i checked the speed in between like 3 times 'am i on normal speed'?😅
LSAT tutor for 17 years here. A truly cold 168 is extremely impressive; even if you don't plan to go to law school (I didn't), you should consider studying for a few weeks and taking it for real. If you like teaching and can get a 170+ score, LSAT tutoring pays well and is generally very flexible.
fellas like this and make her notice this
This kind of thinking is why there are so many bad LSAT instructors out there. Just because you scored well doesn't mean you can teach the LSAT.
@@jimmypark3224 of course not. In LSAT parlance, scoring highly is necessary but not sufficient. However, her ability to describe her own thought process and the extremely high cold score both augur well for her if she wanted to pursue tutoring.
I smell something fishy.
I took the LSAT for fun last year and got a 97% percentile. I am seriously considering this!
I feel like people in the comments don’t get how well she actually did on this test. Like this is seriously impressive. Jaz should maybe consider being a lawyer or going to law school.
Can you explain ? I am french so i am a bit confused and i don't know what her score means
@@nearyyin5648 her score is better than about 90-95% of the people who take the exam - and most people study for months. Her score - along with her GPA - would get her into most of the top law schools out there.
@@nearyyin5648 also I should note: getting into a top law school is VERY competitive in the US. You have to complete four years of university before you can even consider any law school, let alone a top-tier law school.
@@iheartmanythings wow !!! And she did not prepare the test ! She is truely amazing ! Thanks for explaning to me :))
After studying months for the June test, this video made me irrationally mad. A 168 cold diagnostic is almost literally unbelievable. I really hope people outside the legal sphere understand that.
Ok, there are 4th year college students who have spent months studying and taking practice tests for the LSAT that have a hard time cracking 165. Jasmine you killed it. Honestly, you may want to study for this and actually take the test as a back pocket stat. You never know.
Imagine her score when she actually studies for the LSAT.🤷♀️
she already said she doesn’t want to actually take the lsat
unlikely bc i do not plan to attend law school
@@studyquillyes I know, just wondering 🤔 😅
*if
@@studyquill Well you could study it and keep the test results I don't know backup career just in case you can't finish or find a job with your degree.
Jasmine is taking the LSAT unprepared and scoring 168, and then there’s me who still needs a calculator to calculate 7+8
when i calculate that i go ok 8+8 is 16.. so if i minus one its 15
LOL i mean i still can't do mental math either
@@studyquill you have no idea how validating that is T.T
Uhhhhh wait what is it
@@Slpy-sd2wx 15... bruh
The title is too interesting to not click on this video 😂😂.
right lol
jasmine be taking the LSAT & retaking the SAT like no problem and here i am struggling to even have the motivation to stand up and drink some water
you can do it!
same though
I think this just shows how well-rounded Jasmine is as a person. Her general knowledge and grasp on how tests work are enough to get her through examinations she has not studied for.
Or the video is heavily edited, so she easily could have cheated.
@@oohellyaa08 if she didn’t want us to know how she did, she could have just not upload the video.
going to the same school as elle woods basically makes you lawyer sooooo
what like it's hard? 💅🏻
Some of the coeds/sorority-sisters at UCLA will dress up like Elle Woods replete with bunny ears for Halloween, and then post it on IG with a hashtag of Harvard Law, so I'm sure the guys there would be wondering where the girls that look like [that] would be at HLS. But the females at UCLA are very accomplished and do attend top-tier SOLs, and some undoubtedly have the Elle look.
Ok but literally think about it....she literally has sooo many backup options for careers from all the tests she's taking and acing....that too just for content...Jasmine, you dropped this👑
me getting a 169 on my actual LSAT after studying for months....well then
That's still something to be proud of. I'm taking mine in November and got a lower score on the prep test lol.
You should still be incredibly proud of yourself!!
That’s still amazing! I get my scores next week :-/
literally same, the lsat was my life for a solid third of my year just to get a 169
ehh i bet she gave herself a little extra time on the sections to finish all the questions.
“I go to the same school that Elle Woods went to... ” is indeed a valid reason to take the LSAT for fun. 😂
Jasmine’s glowing
I litterally read that as growing 😩😩
@@daraeun1ce lol same
@@daraeun1ce :’)
168 on your first try is insane. You’re very smart and are built for this. 2 points away from 170. And anything above 170 is considered top tier. Normally people attend LSAT class or tutoring to achieve a 168.
To give you an idea, a 168 will land you in Berkeley, UCLA, USC, Cornell, Georgetown, to name a few. (Assuming your GPA is on point). Once you break 170, that’s when you get into the bigger schools like Columbia or U of Chicago.
Law student here; Jasmine you should really consider pursuing law school because your diagnostic score is insane. For reference, my diagnostic test was also June 2007 and I scored a 137. My undergrad was pre-law. It took almost 6 months of full time studying to get a score that would send me to a tier 1 school. You are so inclined towards this test, past me is literally jealous of you! Maybe take some “intro to law” courses and see if you like it!
And you don't have to be an attorney when licensed. There are numerous who've gone into film production, and in California a lot are in entertainment in general; it opens up the real-estate field, etc.
If she has that much natural ability, law school would be a waste of time and money. She should be working for a consulting firm like McKinssey and take that resume to Apple or Google. By the time she's 30 she'd easily be pulling in more then their top engineers. Or she can practice law and work 10 hour days for a private firm stuck on LexisNexis until your vision is plastered.
Seeing her stress over a test that she doesn’t even have to take makes me question what I’m doing with my life XD
A 168 is freaking incredible!! I just graduated from law school and was a linguistics major in undergrad too - honestly there is no specific prep or degree needed for law school. Personally I really liked studying for the LSAT because it’s not knowledge based, you just have to learn the logic they’re looking for. Really, what truly makes the test difficult are the time constraints and the length. As you discovered, it is exhausting to take a full test (especially with one extra section) and when you get to the top scores (like yours!) each right answer directly corresponds to an additional point.
hey, sorry if this is a personal question but how did you go to law school? i saw someone say that to attend law school in the us, your undergrad major has to do be something related to law.
@@omuomurice there are no specific undergrad majors for law school as it is not knowledge based, it’s more about skills which is why often times people choose the same ones (pol sci, philosophy, etc). but you can apply with any!
Any tips on how to study for the LSAT? What materials/ prep courses do you recommend?
lol I'm not planning on becoming a lawyer but why does this test sound kinda fun? As a debate kid, I'm a little intrigued.
if you're a debate kid i think you'd enjoy it
It’s not fun trust me don’t take it
It's 3 hours long lol
@@corallevy8192 people have different opinions of fun and some people like to try things regardless of their perceived difficulty. I don't think you should be trying to stop anyone but I know you weren't being too serious either so 🤷♀️ but why not encourage people instead
No it’s no. I studied 400 hrs and thought about jumping in front of trains everyday.
current law student here, very jealous of how well you did 😂 if only i had your logical reasoning skills!!
I don't think you realize how extraordinary those results are 😅 your brain is something different
23/23 in logic games?? Ugh, I'm jealous. I'm taking the test in August and this is the toughest section for me. You're a freaking genius.
Me, a music major who just randomly scrolled upon this video while lying in my bed now thinking “this test seems kinda fun. I wonder how I’d do” knowing full well what the answer would be.
Ok, fellow music major here- you may be surprised. I just took the LSAT (also cold, thanks for the inspiration Jasmine!) and I honestly felt like I was working through processes similar to some of the Music Theory assignments I’ve had in the last few years. You never know!!
We all know that the MCAT has to be next right. Right?
uhhhhhhhhh definitely not
i will ACTUALLY fail it bc the only college level science class i've taken is geology
@@studyquill please please please do it. just for fun
@@leahnirafael9822 I think it's like 6 hours or something and it's chock full of science knowledge so it's not easy to just take for fun 😭 but I do think it would be so fun to see that video! It just seems like torture.
@@studyquill please do it!! It’s more critical thinking rather than science knowledge than you think, and I think you will actually do a lot better than you expect :)
GMAT!
me who actually needs a 168 and didn't come anywhere close to it when i took the test.
love how she keeps on doing things she knows she shouldn't be doing hahaha
me: *Crying to take up a unit test *
Jasmine: Ahh...I'm bored, Lemme try the LSAT !!
How ??! How does she do that ??!!!
I took the LSAT at home due to covid and I told my parents to stay downstairs to make minimum noise. My mom decided it would be the perfect time to do the dishes, the loudest and obnoxious/distracting thing in the house.
14 minutes of Jasmine underestimating her sheer test-taking genius 😂😂
who else get so nervous and losing so many brain cells watching her do this 😭
I love these “trying test videos”!!
YT randomly recommended your video. And I admired how you modelled speaking to yourself when you make mistakes. And I appreciated how you explained how you are trying to be nicer to yourself. Because my perfectionist brain would totally say the same thing. Thank you for giving an example of being kinder to oneself ❤️
You posted this video on my birthday...and I want to be a lawyer...if this isn't some kind of telepathy then idk what is
happy birthday and good luck with law school!!!
@@studyquill Thank you so much!! Love your videos❤️
Congratulations! It's awesome you looked at it from outside the box and using the skills you already have and blew it out of the water! Well done! 👍
Tf. She scored 168 on her first test. OML.
Oh man this makes me so jealous! Even though I’m not trying to be a lawyer or anything, just being able to do this casually and get so little wrong and still acting like it’s meh or no big deal makes me wish I was you 😂
Jasmine making taking test content is something we all appreciate!
I took the LSAT for real this morning so this was really fun to watch! You did INCREDIBLE!!!!
you did so well jaz!! dont let your perfectionism make you think less! that was seriously impressive! :D
Technically Elle Woods goes to "CULA" (You can see this on her panhellenic paddle in the opening). Both UCLA and USC were approached to be featured in the movie, but neither wanted to be associated with her trope, so they created a fictional school. Their loss fr
Bad choice on their part, because Elle Woods is iconic!
"i'm gonna be talking fast"
me already watching on speed 2x: 👀
"hey Jas, how'd you decide to be a lawyer?"
I was trying to do the SAT prep thing on Khan Academy yesterday and I accidentally somehow ended up taking the LSAT instead of the PSAT-
i- how did you do 😭😭
@@aunicorn3812 i think i got a 26% on it i gave up a quarter of the way through and started spam clicking-
HAHA
this is crazy you did so well!! if i had spent all of undergrad studying for the lsat i think i still wouldnt have done this well (i am just rlly bad at standardized tests lol)
Hey Jasmine, can you please explain what exactly is your major about and why you chose it? It sounds pretty interesting and different. Also, have you set a fixed career choice or post graduation degree that you are going to take?! Would love to know! Thanks!🤗
You just got my dream LSAT score without evening studying. I am very impressed and jealous
You are an amazing person and your academic life is really inspiring!
Imagine if she took the MCAT lol.
Completely different game. Ones logic and reasoning based the other is 90% knowledge based upon science such as chemistry bio and physics
You should consider studying for the LSAT, taking it professionally, and becoming a tutor. Seriously, you could make bank.
OK BUT THIS CONCEPT FOR VIDEOS IS SO SMART
I know we could be best friends because you're doing something for fun/ curiosity but you're stressing out about it
Love, a med student
As an aspiring Law Student from India, this was really interesting!! Love you Jasmine!
Unreal how your score is that high on your first test WOAH. Impressive, maybe you should consider law haha
Wrote it twice for real and did not come close to a 168
I love that you did this!! So cool!
You did an amazing job!! We’re so proud! I think you should consider being a lawyer, even if just for a second because you did soo well!
PLS TAKE THE MCATS NEXT
Thisssss
Lol the MCAT is out of the world. People don't understand how difficult it is. I just took it yesterday sigh
You did amazing! The majority of people score 150s getting above 165 is a huge achievement!
Do MCAT next 😀 I studied for 4 months & still could barely do it
Same
Best of luck for finals! ❤️
I want to go to law school when I get older but people keep saying how competitive and stressful it is so this video made me feel better lol.
I just need to say - your eyeliner is flawless today.
Hey Jasmine!! Lots of love to you and your channel from India ❤️ have been watching your videos for a while now and have been absolutely loving them!! 👍 Wishing you a lot of success ! Stay safe and healthy 😘
You did fantastic. This kind of makes me feel like I might be overthinking the entire test. Or maybe it's just hopeless for me.
This is insane. Some people study for months and aren't even there yet. Great job! My mouth is still opened, thoroughly surprised
Never been this early!!! I'm proud
Wow. She’s a genius
loving these videos
A 168 on your first attempt and you finished the sections ahead of time, that is such a flex
Okay your vibe gave me the confidence to sit and just do practice tests for my entrances.
Also for anyone actually taking the test take into consideration there’s an additional section that is also not scored for prospective questions that also adds mental strain along with the anxiety when taking the exam for actually trying to get into law school
Can you do a logic game walk through? Like showing how you completed them etc.
You have great analytical skills you've acquired... Well done!
As a linguistics major who is planning on taking the LSAT to attend law school, this video was not only fun to watch, but also comforting! Great work!
I am preparing to take the LSAT this coming winter. Your score is very impressive. I hope to score as high on test.
Those lil side braids are so cute 😍
This video was so fun to watch! After watching the tv show Suits I started binging content on the LSATS even if i had no plans on taking law haha
SAME
After looking at ur video about the Lsat & graduating of pre law school since 2010 kinda inspired me to go forth wit the Lsat. I was scared if failing from not being prepped for it so I paid an x amount of money for a tutor which just gave me an idea how it has to b dne but my timing still plays a part so I feel like I wasted all that money. I've purchased a lsat book to help me but dont where to start. I literally NEED help & still afraid to fail but ur video is really inspirational to just go & get it done.
I LOVE YOUR HAIR !
Next video: I'm switching to law cause I'm a genius
Jasmine can you plsss record a day in the life as linguistics/communications major because i’m thinking of majoring in those things and hoping I can attend UCLA next fall! also love you ❤️❤️
Wow, that is a great score, especially for someone who decided to take it randomly
you should take the MCAT ! its the Medical College Admission Test
I would say as a point of clarification the fifth section is always experimental. There is always an experimental section, but they don’t tell you which one it is.
i’m taking the afoqt soon (it’s an officer qualifying test for the air force), i’d be interested to see ya try it haha. There’s 12 different sections and I think you’d enjoy it
hdhdhdh big love to jasmine for putting herself through torture for that study content for us😂❤🥺
A 168 without preparation? That's amazing!
jasmine you look so prettyyyy💜
I love your hair jasmine its so cute
Why was i not surprised when i saw you decided to make this video xD
been watching your videos since forever
that is very brave, i hope to be like you in the future!
as a paralegal student and future law student i am ridiculously excited to watch this
ahhh congrats on the score. a 168 diagnostic is insane! though as someone who has taken the lsat lol this definitely brought up some repressed anxiety 😅 and for anyone here interested in law, your major actually has little to no bearing on your law applications. You can literally study anything for undergrad!
You can do any major you want for Law School as long as you do the LSAT and do well as an undergrad grades!!! You did awesome!! LSAT is HARD! I was planning on Law School but couldn't manage studying/understanding the material so now I'm doing Ministry in a couple years for my MA in Arts or Youth Ministry.
Actually loveee itttttt ❤️🔥🦋
it’s cool to see that u studied linguistics in ur first year since it’s not that common!! you planning to declare a ling major?
i studied for a year and took the test twice and you did better than me, this knocked my confidence down so much
You did amazing! I’m an aspiring law student and a diagnosis score of 168 is really impressive. It usually takes months and hundreds to thousands of dollars to score that high.
i always find it crazy how many multi choice questions there seem to be in us tests, uk ones barely have any :(
