As someone who just scored a 175 on the January 2022 LSAT, I second the 7Sage recommendation. It is an absolute life saver and all I ever needed. It's important to note that not every idea and method was useful to me though. Everyone has a different way of thinking and learning. At the end of the day, you are trying to get the best score possible and you are the only one who is taking the test. If a concept doesn't feel efficient or comfortable, just drop it and come up with your own way that works best for you. I think a big reason why people struggle is that they are trying to take the test how someone else would take it, rather than how they would. My study process involved a lot of soul searching to find out what kind of person I am and how this person would score well on the LSAT. I didn't ever need to write out lawgic or low resolution summaries, but the curriculum ultimately helped me with understanding the fundamentals of the test. If I didn't first have that background information, I never would have scored above my 151 diagnostic.
@@Zeroctb I got through the 7Sage curriculum in a little under 2 months, then took the November test after only 1 or 2 PTs. I scored a 167 timed and 179 Blind Review on my first practice test, but underperformed in November and got a 160. I realized that my problem was timing because I would consistently score 175+ on all of my BRs, but my timed tests were very inconsistent. After November didn't go well, the next test I could do was in January. I spent those two months drilling PTs until my timed score matched my BR score. That being said, I favored quality over quantity. Some people think they need to do every PT in existence, but I only did about 10.
As someone with ADHD, I had a really hard time with 7sage because explaining the points turned out to 5 into 10 minute rambles for one question. Thats a lot when you only have a certain amount of time to answer the question. I kept trying to figure out when there was a point in a 20 minute video going over 4 questions and it felt like studying took forever and made me more fatigued. I like a lot of the newer stuff they're doing but wont revisit. I do appreciate that they did break down the fundamentals well.

@@3441ars The LSAT isn't about law so there is no law expertise being free by having a Khan Academy LSAT prep program. I am almost done with LITERALLY every single section of seven sage and it is so LONG. In my opinion too long. I decided to do everything though because thats how i started the course/ curriculum but it has taken me about 3 months of full time to finish every single section/ problem set. This includes doing each logic game about (70 of them) 5-10 times to fool proof it. I am going to finally start practice tests in the next couple of weeks. I recommend doing every topic in seven sage but I don’t don’t think it’s necessary to do every single problem set because it will take you FOREVER.
Thank you!!!!! Seriously thank you! I’ve been watching lots of videos trying to figure out where to even start and your video has honestly been the most helpful one! Taking everything in and hopefully starting soon!
I took the lsat for the 1st time and got a 141. I feel discouraged right now because I don’t know what I need to do. What is the best way to prepare myself mentally for a retake?
Hello! Sorry to hear that your first LSAT score wasn't what you had hoped for. I recommend taking a nice two week break to just completely reset; You tried your best last round and deserve a mental break before you go back into your LSAT studies full throttle with fresh eyes. When you do jump back into your LSAT studies, I recommend trying out a new study routine/schedule. Trying something new will keep things fun and fresh, and give you the opportunity to review your past studies from a new perspective. Finally, remember that the LSAT takes time to conquer for everyone (even for those of us who eventually scored in the 99% percentile). I know it can feel very discouraging to see a score that you know doesn't accurately reflect the amount of effort you know you put into the LSAT -- the LSAT is mentally brutal like that. What matters is that you find the strength to get back up and try again. Best of luck on your LSAT studies, I am rooting for you!
Thank you so much❤ wow and now you already graduated from Harvard Law School, congratulations for your successful journey! Thank you for sharing your valuable resources with us… they are extremely helpful and life saving for me😂 Thank you sooo much!! Hi Babs!! How many times did you take the LSAT? and how long would you recommend we spend prepping/studying between LSAT tests? Also, would love to one day see what a typical LSAT weekly study schedule looked like for you! Thank you for all this info! Just subscribed
I definitely relate to that feeling -- the LSAT has a funny way of pushing you to your mental limit and making you feel like you're never going to break through to your goal score. My advice is to acknowledge that these feelings are 100% normal, and remember that breakthroughs happen when you least expect it. Keep at it, you got this!
I love how you stated your SCORE. NICE VIDEO AND THANK you so much. It is always best to state it so that people can follow you. Do you think power score is a great book? how many months of study did it take you to score 175? God bless you

Thanks for the video Babs! I started with LSAT trainer and am currently in Lesson 8, would you suggest that I combine my LSAT trainer prep with 7Sage at some point? I too get bogged down with details and thought that maybe gaining a sold foundation through trainer would be a better option for me.
Hi Sal! First of all, great choice by starting off with the LSAT Trainer! Have you started drilling yet? If so, how is your logic game performance? If you're really struggling with logic games, 7Sage is the way to go. If you're doing alright, getting 7Sage might not be totally necessary. Ultimately, it really depends on how "perfect" you want to get your logic game score. If you're striving for 170+, you can start 7Sage anytime! :) Hope this helps, Babs
since logic games is no longer in the LSAT then which book is best to use > and if this book is still great, which chapters or sections should I ignore.
Now that 7Sage doesn’t have the LG available for free anymore. 😭 Are there any other materials you would recommend to master the logic games skills? Mood (desperate) Thank you in advance!
Hi Kaylhan! If you want to attend law school directly after your undergraduate studies, then it couldn't hurt to start studying now! If you are planning to take a gap year or two after graduating, then I wouldn't start sweating about preparing now. Most people don't study for the LSAT for more than a year. Babs
Here’s an easy way to start. Freshman year work on reading comprehension only. You can master reading comprehension in one year. Every major standardized test has reading comprehension. Therefore it is the easiest section to begin your preparation. One of my students that I helped get into HLS was a master of RC. This successful young lady in the video gave you the answer at the very beginning. Start early, be thorough and don’t faint in the face of adversity. I guarantee you that you will face great adversity during your preparation. Please realize that no matter how well you have prepared, at some point during the exam you’re going to feel that you’ve blown it. Don’t panic in your mind during the exam. You have the first key to success already- DESIRE!
Hey! First of all, congrats on HLS. It's a dream of mine to get a 175 so I can also get in. I have a 3.91 GPA, and the only thing keeping me back right now is my LSAT. Anyways, my question is how many PTs did you take and also did you retake some PTs a second time? Do you think it's really necessary to go through every single PT ever released by LSAC?
Hi Melody! I've taken every single test after PT 55 under real timed conditions. I have also used PTs before 55 for some light drilling too. Before you freak out, don't worry-I don't think my study habits are reflective of the norm per se. You don't have to take the same, full PT twice under real-timed conditions. However, it is SUPER useful to go back and recycle specific sections from PTs you've taken for drilling material. In light of that practice of recycling old sections for drilling, I can say that I've probably reviewed each question published after PT 55 twice. If you're running short on time, I recommend you at least try to take 10 full PTs before your official LSAT. Also, take the newer ones in the 70s and 80s (they are far more reflective on what you will see on test day). Hope this helps! Babs
Hi Jennifer! I haven’t used LSATMax before so I can’t say for sure. But I think you will be just fine as long you supplement your studies with referencing the Manhattan Prep forums and Powerscore forums when you blind review. Success doesn’t necessarily come down to a single program, it comes down to how it works for you. So if you like it, that’s what matters! Best of luck on your LSAT journey, Babs
Have you had a chance to evaluate the power score “LSAT bible” series? I have worked through their logic games and arguments books, and would love to hear if there are aspects of other prep materials that would help me supplement my studies
Hi Mark! I didn't use PowerScore personally, but I found their LSAT explanation forums super helpful. Link here: forum.powerscore.com/. I have also heard really good things about Powerscore -the only "downside" is that they don't have videos for visual learners. You can always supplement your studies with the free Khan Academy LSAT videos to make up for it though. Hope this helps! Babs
Idk you but I trust you
I am flattered, Mark! Best of luck in your LSAT studies!

It looks like the platform is moving to LawHub, which provides free and low-cost test preparation resources. I can't speak to how good these new resources are, but I hope they are as good as what Khan Academy offered.
Everything is about profit. I’m sure you won’t want your provide your law expertise for free either once you begin to practice
@@3441ars The LSAT isn't about law so there is no law expertise being free by having a Khan Academy LSAT prep program. Gatekeeping education and making it unaffordable isn't a good thing because not everyone can spend hundreds of dollars to take a practice test. When society makes education accessible only to the upper class then the society is deeply flawed and ignorant. I don't want an ignorant country and it's not radical when you realize how little the LSAT has to do with being a lawyer
They brought it back, I'm using it rn
@@niyatibrijesh-nv9rkI don’t think it’s the same

Thanks so much, Andrew! Best of luck to you in your LSAT studies.
Thank You for the information! I held off getting my prep books etc... And now I know why your video!😂👍🏾
so so helpful - thank you for creating this video and sharing your tips!
I really appreciate that this wasn't just 15-20 min of shilling for your prep course or one you're affiliated with.
Authentic reviews are SO important and there needs to be more of them. Glad I could help.
Wow this was so good Barbs! Super proud of you!

That is so sweet Shirin! I'm glad I could help, best of luck to you. You got this!
@@BanterwithBabs Thank you! :) I just have a question- were you taking notes (written or digital) while studying with the LSAT Trainer?
@@shirinn3718 I took notes to practice pushing logical interferences and made a mini "cheat sheet" of different logic game types. Other than that, the vast majority of my note-taking came in the form of highlights in the book.
The fact that your latest video is you graduating 🎉👏👏👏
It's honestly mindblowing looking back and seeing how far this channel has come.
Even though my law school journey concluded last year, it brings me a lot of joy to know this channel continues to help students who are at the beginning of their own law school journeys.
Good afternoon,
Thank you so much for this video. Your insight to the these study programs where very insightful and was very helpful in figuring out what kind of things that I should do. I came to you after reading the Matt Kim LSAT book and was frustrated with feeling like I didn’t learn anything from my studying and tough it out
I am going to khan academy now
Thank you so much Babs! your explanations are simple and straight to the point!
I am so so happy to hear that, Jessica! I personally appreciate videos that get straight to the point, so I tried to reflect that preference in the making of this video.
I’m starting to study for the LSAT and i heard this year 2024 they changed the LSAT format, is there anyway you can make an updated video on how to study for this new LSAT?
This is great ... I am going with these three resources !
Glad I could be of help, Mark! Best of luck in your studies!
Thank you so much for creating this video. I really appreciate it.
Thank you for your kind feedback, Don. I'm glad this video was of help to you!
Your videos are super helpful! I decided a little late to take the LSAT so I have less than three months to study, but I’m applying to state school and just hoping for a good score for scholarships. Thanks again! ❤️

7 Sage is good for getting down into the nitty-gritty details but I agree, sometimes the trees can overwhelm the forest in this prep program!
@@BanterwithBabs I left LONG update lol but your videos are amazing so I hope people find your content :)

Apart from those three resources, would you recommend any other LSAT textbooks that you used? (Or just 7sage is equivalent to those textbooks?)

Thank you! Informative and to the point!

Hi Babs!! How many times did you take the LSAT? and how long would you recommend we spend prepping/studying between LSAT tests? Also, would love to one day see what a typical LSAT weekly study schedule looked like for you!

Great video! Hope to see more from you in the future :)
Thank you, Emma!
Your videos are so good and legit.
This means so much to me! Thank you, Kev!
Thanks for the encouragement. Yes Khan acad is awesome :)
Teaming up with one is probably one of the best decisions LSAC ever made!
Can you do a more detailed video on your planner setup? I found that helpful
Fabulous idea, Curtis!
Awesome job, totally gonna help others! And see you on Zoom in September 😮
Much appreciated, Lexo!
I know I’m not in a race with anyone but I constantly feel like I’m not doing enough and falling behind. TFS!
Wonderful Video! Thank you!
wow I love your editing! What do you edit your videos with?
FCPX!
This is so helpful! Thank you

Did you use the free or paid version of 7sage?
I use the paid version. The paid version gives you access to the practice test answer explanations, which is super helpful!

I love how you stated your SCORE. NICE VIDEO AND THANK you so much. It is always best to state it so that people can follow you. Do you think power score is a great book? how many months of study did it take you to score 175? God bless you
Happy to help, Stella! Transparency is everything.
I have heard good things about Powerscore-it just wasn't a perfect fit for me because I like having some lessons in a video format (as opposed to a book format).
I studied for one full year. Here's a link to my video, HOW TO STUDY (Effectively) FOR THE LSAT | How I Scored a 175. Link: ua-cam.com/video/XdUexJelpxQ/v-deo.html in case you wanted to check out my LSAT study routine in greater detail!
Best,
Babs
Hope this helps,
Babs
This is great. Thank you so much!!
Love to hear that. I'm glad you were able to get value out of it!
since logic games is no longer in the LSAT then which book is best to use >
and if this book is still great, which chapters or sections should I ignore.
Now that 7Sage doesn’t have the LG available for free anymore. 😭 Are there any other materials you would recommend to master the logic games skills? Mood (desperate)
Thank you in advance!
Have you checked out the free Khan Academy LSAT logic game videos? They're pretty solid if 7Sage isn't for you.
@@BanterwithBabs I actually haven’t! (Thanks so much for replying) I’ll definitely check that out! Thanks again😊
Great video. Thank you so much.
thanks for the information! :D
Of course, Steven! Happy I could help.
I’m going to be a 1st year at university this fall. Should I start preparing now? I’m not the strongest at standardized testing. Thank you!
Thank you for this video!
Excellent!!
Thank you. I feel like I already jumped 30 points just watching.
Babs
I’m currently using LSATMax to study so that I can take the LSAT for the second time next year. Is it a good resource?
Hi Jennifer!
I haven’t used LSATMax before so I can’t say for sure. But I think you will be just fine as long you supplement your studies with referencing the Manhattan Prep forums and Powerscore forums when you blind review. Success doesn’t necessarily come down to a single program, it comes down to how it works for you. So if you like it, that’s what matters!
Best of luck on your LSAT journey,
Babs
Have you had a chance to evaluate the power score “LSAT bible” series? I have worked through their logic games and arguments books, and would love to hear if there are aspects of other prep materials that would help me supplement my studies
Hi Mark! I didn't use PowerScore personally, but I found their LSAT explanation forums super helpful. Link here: forum.powerscore.com/. I have also heard really good things about Powerscore -the only "downside" is that they don't have videos for visual learners. You can always supplement your studies with the free Khan Academy LSAT videos to make up for it though. Hope this helps!
Babs
As of august 2024 no more logic games per the Princeton review.
