All Chinese GY6 scooters use a CVT, or Continuously Variable Transmission. The drive belt lasts about 5,000 miles. You should also inspect the variator rollers and clutch when you remove the belt. You'll need a variator holder tool and an oil filter strap wrench. It's OK to remove the kick start lever and gears. The electric start is very reliable and works much better anyway.
There are many different belt sizes, so check your belt before you order a new one. - Авто та транспорт

love your videos, ok so i had to replace on my gy6 oil seal behind that kick starter sprocket ON THE SHAFT( I HAVE SIMILAR BIKE AS IN THIS VIDEO...) I cant get it back on enough any ideas.. also do i have to ,does it help the variator when the bike is running.. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED ...

I can’t get the veriator bolt off
Finally replaced the belt on mine today after it snapped about a month ago. Ended up replacing the whole variator assembly as well. Now after riding it for the first time, it feels like it doesn't have as much acceleration. Thoughts?
2 possibilities here: Did you get the right size belt? If the new belt is longer, it might be slipping. The other thing that can be happening is the new variator has different weight rollers. The rollers move outward due to centrifugal force and change the gear ratio. Heavier rollers will shift to a high gear faster, and might keep the engine at low RPM where you don't have enough power. Lighter rollers will keep the engine at higher RPM and will generally give you better acceleration. You can tune the variator by trying different rollers until you get the best acceleration. My kickstart always gets stuck down and have to beat it back into submission
Ive kick started mine for years with little issues.
That kicker tells you how good the engine is by feeling the "bump" .
No bump = no compression =
Engine needs a top end rebuild.
hi, so big controversy..does the direction of the letters/numbers on belt facing, or not facing bike, Matter??????
I'm pretty sure the belt is not directional. If you're a perfectionist, make the letters face you so it's easier to read.

I don't think that Bando belt came stock on a Chinese scooter.

...dont by less then a Gates belt or you better keep an 8mm socket and a extra belt under the seat.

What does that mean? Do the lights not turn on with the key? Does the starter work? Does the engine run, but it's slower now?

@@truckercai3571your main fuse is probably blown. It’s a 10 amp glass fuse by the battery. I recommend replacing it with a plastic fuse and holder from the auto parts store.
