Pokémon Y Hardcore Nuzlocke - Flying Types Only! (No items, No Overleveling)

- Is it possible to beat a Pokemon Y Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge with only Flying types? Here's my attempt at beating one.
Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules:
1. If a Pokémon faints, it is dead. Box it or release forever.
2. I can only catch the first Bug type encounter on each Route.
3. No items in battle. No healing or X items only Pokeballs and Held items.
4. Must be played on "Set" battle mode.
5. Cannot over level past the Gym's highest ace. Personally, once I reach the Elite Four the level cap ends.

I agree, those are all of the key pieces to nuzlocke runs like these. Although I do think the Yveltal in the background makes the Pokeball circles that hold the team members feel cluttered. Maybe if the lines of the Pokeballs were a color that stood out from the background some it would be a little easier to help them be distinct.

UA-cam has been recommending a lot of nuzlockers lately and im glad, I really enjoyed this video and wanted to comment for the algorithm. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like the PChal Kaizo nuzlocke has really helped a lot of smaller nuzlocke focused channels grow

Flying type is super effective to these types:
-Grass: Birds and bats can eat plants' parts like leaves, flowers and fruits like berries.
-Bug: Birds and bats are common predators for insects that catch and eat them alive.
-Fighting: Flying types are supermans/superheroes that can knock down any targetted opponents standing on the ground while colliding with those targetted opponents whilst diving/flowing in air.

I mean you can just turn off the exp share unless you’re doing training or something. Having the **option** to use the exp share is nice

Yo first,awesome challenge
this is really good nuzlocke idea! I had a lot of struggles and fails trying to beat an XY nuzlocke with no starters, legendaries, or gifted pkmn (lucario), but finally was able to beat it yesterday going through the E4 and champion with an Azumarill and Fufrou, those 2 were a bit overleveled, but they were the only 2 I had left
I lost the other 4 in victory road trying to use them rather than the other 2 that were leveled above them (which I seem to do a lot), after losing the first one I kinda stopped trying and was playing clumsy not expecting to win. I just take too many unnecessary risks anytime I do a nuzlocke and sometimes completely forget about type disadvantages
Dude that is really good! A win is a win even if some friends die along the way. Also I used a Furfrou once and I was surprised by how good it did, that Fur Coat ability made it the bomb!

quick question: During the 4th gym battle where You had Hawlucha hold the soft sand and it was taken out by Heliolisk- Why did you not brick break it or something? since it's a normal type PLUS stab
I hadn't played Y in a long time, it slipped my mind that Heliolisk was part normal type at the time. Honestly a very dumb mistake on my part.

Honestly Pokemon And Me should only top out at two hearts for nuzlockes for the reason of 'you get full EXP at that point'.
You get a pretty decent amount of XP already, but for leveling weaker members this is pretty good!
@@Ludiloco From what I noticed, you get at least 10% less XP if you don't get the second level of friendship with your team. As long as you get to level 2 you don't get any of the other factors like you do with a fully maxed out affection.

You could have got a farfetchd before gym 1 and it would have been useless late game but decent early
You can turn the xp share off in the key items to avoid over levelling
Yeah I did that after my first mishap. Had to do it quite often to prevent overleveling.

I spent a good while but the hours or so I spent smashing rocks I got nearly every other fossil, plus tons of encounters but no Amber Fossil 😞

I don't consider it an encounter as I would have to catch a Bunnelby to trade for it.. Besides the first encounter was Pidgey on Route 2 and then Fletchling on Route 3.

Pokemon Y is already pretty easy, with a Gyrados I think this challenge would have been kinda boring to watch because of how good Gyrados is.

Why didn't you use any megas? You could have used mega charizard y couldn't you?
In my additional rules I said no Megas, it would make the run too easy if I did so. Even if Charizard Y still has the same weaknesses.

I really disliked the elite 4 commentary u were talking about stuff that was like 3-4 turns ahead of the video . Other than that the whole video was really enjoyable
