I think Kenjaku actually kept that secret hidden as a way to activate the merger if he and Sukuna are defeated. I think at the bottom of the stair well there is the main merger vessel. In the culling rituals in real life they put starving bugs in a jar and whoever comes out alive is cursed. It is kinda like that. I think Kenjaku has always been planning to either use Yuji or Sukuna as the vessel for the merger.
We all forgot about Ijichi, well I know I did at least!!! This changes my guess as to how the next chapter will play out. I think it’ll be Ijichi at the dam, his task being to mask the cursed energy of Sukunas finger and or to wait there for the arrival of Ino or Maki, the guy who we’ve already seen use a cursed tool imbued with a technique from a dead host or the girl that Nobara bonded with most during her time at Jujutsu High (since her technique was imbued, Maki could use it even with no CE herself, after all that’s what she does). They’ll deal the massive stunning blow like in Shibuya with Mahito and Yuji will get the chance to go in for the kill. Again, just a guess/theory for any of those about to take a crap on me.
This is an interesting tipping point for the story. I've never been a Nobara coper, but this is THE moment she would return if she is indeed alive. If she doesn't, there is no conceivable way she's still alive Sidenote if she does come back, I'm hoping it's as a cursed corpse because out of the many unexplained plot points of this series, one of the most enduringly vague ones is the whole deal with cursed corpses and I just want that stuff to be relevant again goddamit
I'm hoping they make a cursed corpse out of Gojo, Geto and one other person (Nobara? Yaga?). Before his death, Yaga told that the secret to a stable cursed corpse with it's own agency, was to put in 3 souls that are compatible. (Like how Panda has a "sister" and a "brother" in his body). They don't even need to use all of their bodies, so Gojo could still be used by Yuta: It is the soul that is needed, body could be someone else, or artificial like Panda. Geto proved some of his soul was still part of his body when Kenjaku was inhabiting it. It is the third Soul that I don’t know would fit. I would think Shoko, but she is likely to live. Nobara never even met Geto, so I don't think she would be compatible. 🤔 Perhaps they make a corpse as a desperate way to save Yuta, and he is the third soul? More likely: Sukuna, Yuji and Megumi are going to fuse into a cursed corpse. Sukuna and Yuji are definitely compatible, and it is Megumi’s body Sukuna is possessing.
Theory time: So, I never actually thought that Gojo was in possession of the last finger. For a couple of reasons. The first one is the fact that Sukuna said that he probably had the finger. I thought that line alone was subverting us. The second is the fact that Yuji hasn't eaten it. If they have it, why not feed it to Yuji? The MAIN reason is the fact that Nanako and Mimiko knew where it is. This finger that's in the dam is the finger that they were referring to when they made Sukuna the offer to kill Kenjaku. We know this because, at that time, the rest were either in Yuji's possession, Jogo's possession or Uraume's possession. So they had to be talking about this dam finger. If Gojo truly hid the finger so that Yuji would never find it, then it doesn't make sense for these two to know where it is. Which leads me to believe that Gojo didn't actually have it. Now, there is that whole thing with Yuta saying "you never found your last finger" which led Sukuna to believe that they ate it. But as we know now, they were misleading Sukuna, as they haven't eaten it. They want Sukuna to forget about the last finger. Readers have been saying that they're keeping Nobara a secret so that she can use Resonance on the finger. But what if that's not her only job? What if her job is actually to use Resonance to find the finger as well? I think that's what Nobara's been doing or at least will be doing if she comes back (which she will, trust).
It could be the twins didn't really know where the finger was, and just lied. Perhaps Sukuna even sensed the lie and that's why he killed her so abruptly (unlikely but possible) It could be Gojo and Geto were tasked to hide a finger (according to Gege, higher ups tried to first collect the fingers but were forced to put them back, because the areas where fingers were removed started have curses getting restless), and Geto told twins about it. Or Geto knew a location because he was sent to eat the curses the finger attracted Gojo could've just kept one finger to reassure the higher-ups that Sukuna wouldn’t get to his full power before having to face Gojo to get the last finger. Not saying your theory is impossible. Just providing alternatives.

And if they were gonna lie, why offer only one finger? Why not offer more? I think that if Geto knew the location of a finger, he'd probably go take it for himself, wouldn't he? Given that he could turn any cursed spirit into a Special Grade by feeding it to them. But then again, talking about Geto and Sukuna gets weird because Sukuna didn't exist when Geto died.

But because of Geto's cursed technique, he would take advantage of it’s effect on curses.
@Sienisota Again, talking about Geto's interaction with Sukuna's fingers is weird and might be a pointless endeavor. I think the biggest hole in my theory is the fact that we don't know for sure if Uraume had her 3 fingers collected by the time the Shibuya Incident happened. It could be that Uraume had 2 fingers at the time and only found the last one after Shibuya. And maybe that's the finger that the twins were talking about.
honestly the main thing that could make Nobrara's (potential) fake death real and believable is that she, while in stasis, learned RCT and the reverse version of the straw doll technique can somewhat heal soul damage. The only reason I think so is due to the normal version causing significant damage to the soul as shown during the Shinjuku incident arc against Mahito.
Calling it right now, nobara isn't alive, but her curse technique is engraved in her hammer like nannmai's in his blade. that's my only speculation on her "returning"

I've been calling it since Culling Games, they spent WAY too much detail on her being able to damage Mahito's soul with a clone. Her Voodoo curse technique got way too much screentime for it to not be used. Maybe Nobara's grandmother healed her with her voodoo technique or something.
Not sure why people thought the finger was within the domain. The whole point of Gege showing Yuji with 2 missing fingers is to show that Yuta did NOT make Rika eat the last finger. Yuta copied cleave from eating the 2nd missing finger from Yuji. So Sukuna’s assumption were wrong. And Nobara is still alive. She was not shown in Gojo’s airport scene. And the fact Gege has never made it clear in the story was clearly intentional for this moment.
I know it’s late, but that cursed corpse note from all the way back at the start of the culling game HAS to have some importance… I think Nobara is the only way that can really come in to play if the finger is that far away, so if we can see a pseudo revival of her for a resonance blow on Sukuna I would go crazy!!
No. That was a different dam but it does make it interesting that Kenjaku used Kamafusa dam to hide mechamaru and now this finger is hidden at this dam. The satoru reference seems too obvious. Nobara seems too obvious too leaving Kenjaku who has exhibited similar behavior hiding things in these dams across Japan seemingly.
If Gege brings back Nobara I will take back every single complaint I've ever had for JJK and I will never speak another ill word about any of Gege's work ever again. Hell, I'll even read the idol manga he's gonna make.

I am all about the Nobara comeback but i’m curious what, if any, role you think Prinicpal Yaga’s teachings will play in the final battle coming up. Gege has pulled out all the stops in giving everyone roles so i’m trying to think of people with unique abilities or circumstances that have not directly participated in the battle with Sukuna; Prinicpal Yaga and Panda come to mind.
Guys I've just had a theory!!!! **What if the final finger is Yuji's. And it's a cursed object. If yuji manages to get sukuna back inside him. Yuji can be killed. Killing both sukuna and Yuji. Yuji can then use that finger to come back to life. Using his corpse as a vessel!!!**
Not entirely sure if she's going to make a comeback, but surely Nobara act as a "final nail in the coffin" (next chapter is the climax right?) for Sukuna, really have a nice ring to it.

I'd say Yuta/Rika ate the original final finger. Yuji made another Sukuna finger cause he has always housed part of Sukuna's soul since birth. Kenjaku confirmed this, they're connected. After experiencing Sukuna placing his Soul in a finger when he took Megumi's body Yuji replicated the process. Fingers lost via this process cannot be restored via RCT cause it would break the binding vow used to create the cursed object. Yuji then put on the curse tool gloves to hide the fact he did this from Sukuna until the moment he had a clear shot to win. Straw doll CT will strike Yuji and Sukuna's soul similar to how Nobara struck herself with resonance to harm the curse wombs. Simultaneously Yuji will black flash + soul strike him and break Malevolent shrine. Yuji's soul cleaves from the domain will completely cut Sukuna from Megumi GG
You know, I always felt like it was strange that Nobara's family has never shown up despite being referenced a lot. Ui Ui's power won't change someone's body or curse technique, so while it could safely extract Nobara it wouldn't give her the ability to use Strawdoll technique... unless the person she swapped with also had it. I think Granny Kugisaki gave up her body for Nobara, and now Grandma-mode Nobara is gonna use La Chancla Resonance on the finger.
I somehow didn't even for a moment consider Nobara coming back. I thought the place the finger was in, was metaphorical, inside Yuji's domain. And that it is Yuji's finger, since Yuji is missing two fingers instead of just the left pinky that Sukuna ripped off.
Might be possible just like namami CT fuse with his Curse tool used in sakuna fight same might happen to that hammer & nail that nobara carries might get his CT

nobara is going to hammer resonance into the finger to essentially get free dps/ split sukana's soul or something, since the strawdoll technique harms the soul.
Nobara's goal was to flee the countryside to find her friend in the city. If she were to return, Nobara's next task would be to escape the city, away from her friends, into the countryside.
Also important thing about the damn is. Crossing a river and barriers has significant meaning in jujutsu. That's probably what made it a great hiding spot.
I think yuji learned enough about the souls to create his own finger and transfer a part of his soul into it. They mentioned earlier that yuji and sukuna souls are linked. So I believe if all fails and he isn’t able to kill sukuna, nobara will just nuke the last finger killing both sukuna and yuji in the process. I don’t know why people keep saying that’s sukuna last finger when we can clearly see that one of yujis fingers are missing

Ichiji's job could have been creating the barrier to hide that finger. If Gojo understood there was a chance he wouldn't be around anymore, he'd have to have someone with knowledge of what he's trying to do. Someone no one would think is worthy to him. If even Uraume couldn't find it, that barrier has got to be impressive.
I thought Ijichi’s monumental task to perform was setting up the barrier that masked Gojo’s 200% purple,but that amounted to not much in the end so it makes a bit of sense🤔
Okay hear me out on this prediction i have, Nobara comesback she than use resonance on that finger Sukuna gets hurt, Uraume will senes that Sukuna is badly hurt from it, so she will track down that finger whilst Hakari is following her (They might be closer to where the finger is). Than we are getting a Hakari, Nobara vs Uraume fight. I know it sounds far fetched but it would be a good conclusion to thier fight that have been going on for almost a year.
I was pretty sure gege said Nobara was dead. However I have been saying for a while that there was a chance rika ate the hand that sukuna cut off to avoid the executioner blade. I would personally love if Nobara came back. I feel like he killed off too many people and that hurt the story.
That's Kamafusa dam but it is interesting how Kenjaku used this dam to hide Mechamaru when he was a double agent. Someone else said maybe kenjaku put it there as another contingency. I'm not sure what to believe though. The Satoru reference is too obvious. Nobara would be too obvious also. Kenjaku has used other dams as hiding place and hideouts so maybe he did put it there.

I think it was Yuji's finger instead. He is missing a pinky and 2 other fingers. I think after gojo died he hung his finger there and covered it up with the cursed tool. And the reason his fingers are gone is so that if his power isnt enough he can lure sukuna to the location. Then he can eat it. And regain some more of his power

@Sienisota I've considered the possibility of them lying, but I don't think it's likely. They damn near shit themselves when they met Sukuna, I don't think they'd have the guts to lie. And if they were gonna lie, why offer only one finger? Why not offer more?
I think that if Geto knew the location of a finger, he'd probably go take it for himself, wouldn't he? Given that he could turn any cursed spirit into a Special Grade by feeding it to them. But then again, talking about Geto and Sukuna gets weird because Sukuna didn't exist when Geto died.

But you are right, Geto would've used a finger to perhaps attract cursed spirits into a convenient place for him to consume. 🤔 I hadn't considered that for other sorcerers, the finger is pretty useless before Sukuna woke up in Yuji. But because of Geto's cursed technique, he would take advantage of it’s effect on curses.

I think the biggest hole in my theory is the fact that we don't know for sure if Uraume had her 3 fingers collected by the time the Shibuya Incident happened. It could be that Uraume had 2 fingers at the time and only found the last one after Shibuya. And maybe that's the finger that the twins were talking about.

honestly the main thing that could make Nobrara's (potential) fake death real and believable is that she, while in stasis, learned RCT and the reverse version of the straw doll technique can somewhat heal soul damage. The only reason I think so is due to the normal version causing significant damage to the soul as shown during the Shinjuku incident arc against Mahito.

But seems worse if he didn't have anything to come from suggesting she could have still survived from the character putting her body in stasis.
I've been calling it since Culling Games, they spent WAY too much detail on her being able to damage Mahito's soul with a clone. Her Voodoo curse technique got way too much screentime for it to not be used. Maybe Nobara's grandmother healed her with her voodoo technique or something.

Not sure why people thought the finger was within the domain. The whole point of Gege showing Yuji with 2 missing fingers is to show that Yuta did NOT make Rika eat the last finger. Yuta copied cleave from eating the 2nd missing finger from Yuji. So Sukuna’s assumption were wrong.
And Nobara is still alive. She was not shown in Gojo’s airport scene. And the fact Gege has never made it clear in the story was clearly intentional for this moment.

I think Nobara is the only way that can really come in to play if the finger is that far away, so if we can see a pseudo revival of her for a resonance blow on Sukuna I would go crazy!!

No. That was a different dam but it does make it interesting that Kenjaku used Kamafusa dam to hide mechamaru and now this finger is hidden at this dam. The satoru reference seems too obvious. Nobara seems too obvious too leaving Kenjaku who has exhibited similar behavior hiding things in these dams across Japan seemingly.
If Gege brings back Nobara I will take back every single complaint I've ever had for JJK and I will never speak another ill word about any of Gege's work ever again. Hell, I'll even read the idol manga he's gonna make.

I'd say Yuta/Rika ate the original final finger. Yuji made another Sukuna finger cause he has always housed part of Sukuna's soul since birth. Kenjaku confirmed this, they're connected. After experiencing Sukuna placing his Soul in a finger when he took Megumi's body Yuji replicated the process. Fingers lost via this process cannot be restored via RCT cause it would break the binding vow used to create the cursed object.
Yuji then put on the curse tool gloves to hide the fact he did this from Sukuna until the moment he had a clear shot to win.
Straw doll CT will strike Yuji and Sukuna's soul similar to how Nobara struck herself with resonance to harm the curse wombs. Simultaneously Yuji will black flash + soul strike him and break Malevolent shrine. Yuji's soul cleaves from the domain will completely cut Sukuna from Megumi

You know, I always felt like it was strange that Nobara's family has never shown up despite being referenced a lot. Ui Ui's power won't change someone's body or curse technique, so while it could safely extract Nobara it wouldn't give her the ability to use Strawdoll technique... unless the person she swapped with also had it.
I think Granny Kugisaki gave up her body for Nobara, and now Grandma-mode Nobara is gonna use La Chancla Resonance on the finger.
I somehow didn't even for a moment consider Nobara coming back. I thought the place the finger was in, was metaphorical, inside Yuji's domain. And that it is Yuji's finger, since Yuji is missing two fingers instead of just the left pinky that Sukuna ripped off.

Why is nobody talking about the fact that Yuji is missing one more finger? Plus this finger is white-ish where all Sukuna fingers are darker in color
Also important thing about the damn is. Crossing a river and barriers has significant meaning in jujutsu. That's probably what made it a great hiding spot.
I think yuji learned enough about the souls to create his own finger and transfer a part of his soul into it. They mentioned earlier that yuji and sukuna souls are linked. So I believe if all fails and he isn’t able to kill sukuna, nobara will just nuke the last finger killing both sukuna and yuji in the process. I don’t know why people keep saying that’s sukuna last finger when we can clearly see that one of yujis fingers are missing

Okay hear me out on this prediction i have, Nobara comesback she than use resonance on that finger Sukuna gets hurt, Uraume will senes that Sukuna is badly hurt from it, so she will track down that finger whilst Hakari is following her (They might be closer to where the finger is). Than we are getting a Hakari, Nobara vs Uraume fight. I know it sounds far fetched but it would be a good conclusion to thier fight that have been going on for almost a year.
