It isnt until thdy are in the trainstation where Mahoraga finally lands a hit via a feint of his own, displaying Sukuna effectively taught Mahoraga something he was never forced to adapt to/learn.

So while Sukuna is standing there with his arm stretched out, Mahoraga is expected at any moment Sukuna to throw a cut, so he can use that to launch his body parts. Later on, you can see Mahoraga also fainting his attack and Sukuna gains this goofy ass smile. As if he was teaching this guy or something.
Mahoraga tries to adapt to sukuna's fake attacks after some time. ( 10:25 ) Because sukuna starts faking his attacks. And since mahoraga don't exacly know when slashes are gonna come. He starts boxing the air thinking he can throw his arm to sukuna just like he did in ( 9:58 ) that's basically the whole story behind that goofy ahh move

That's because he's trying to adapt to the slashes and be in a position that will counter then if sukuna ever throw them. The problem is, sukuna actually caugh on that and decided to make the pose and build up the energy without actually throwing the slashes which is why Magohara is shadow boxing, he's actually trying to counter what was supposed to be incoming slashes and this also explain the micheal jackson pose. sukuna knew he would shadow box it and made a fool out him for that up until the gut punch in which magohara finally caught on and adpated to this fighting style at 11:39 in which sukuna finally stops it but is happy because Magohara did the exact same thing back to him to land that.
