Surprisingly, with less of a budget and much less time on our hands, Frostiar and I (I being Hero Destrin) were able to get this done in just 2 and a half months! It also turned out longer than the last one somehow, oh boy... we weren't planning on that at all.

ALSO to address a few questions I know we'll receive about why we wear masks in the video; as you saw above, only me and Frost make these videos, and as both a nod to the pandemic and due to the fact that we need to keep the characters looking different from one another, we have some of them wear masks. For me in this video, TommyInnit is maskless, because I somehow resemble him slightly and, for lip syncing purposes, I needed to not have one on. For Frostiar, Ranboo and Wilbur are maskless, however Ranboo's facepaint differs him from Wilbur.

Fueled by vengeance and a desire for peace amongst the people of the Dream SMP, TommyInnit has taken it upon himself to rid the server of its darkest oppressor, the infamous Dream and his mystic revive book. With the aid of his trusted friend Ghostbur and Technoblade's Axe of Peace (and assistance from Ranboo and Tubbo), Tommy must brave old haunts and the twisting corridors of the imposing Pandora's Vault - and harder yet, avoid the eyes of the warden, Awesamdude - in this final confrontation with Dream and his own past trauma.

I honestly find a taller Sam very intimidating. I know it probably wasn't intentional, but having him tower over both Tommy and Ghostbur makes him more terrifying. Very well made.

I already knew what transpired during those events, and I was STILL tense through the whole thing! You have outdone yourself! I LOVE Sam's outfit, love the effects, love the music, omg! I so strongly wish the DSMP people would see this! See their characters given actual life by your passionate work! With all the animatics out there, I feel so restless seeing how so FEW people know about this! I really wish I could spread it more! The scenery. The effects. The acting, especially Tommy's facial expressions and Wilburs SMIRK. I'm blown away by how much effort you two have put into this video, and how much it paid off - you did an amazing job and this is clearly a step up from Execution. I can safely assume that the Train scene was the highlight of the film, effects blending in well and the feels during the entire thing, also on the scene before when Ghostbur dies.
The content keeps getting better, and I do agree with fellow commenters in terms of the attention you two deserve! Let's do our best to push it further into the algorithm!

Going through the five stages of greif over Ghostbur's death, again. Why must you hurt us this way? There's only pain on this server I can't-
Tears and greif aside, this was a stunning performance. Backgrounds and lighting were lovely, fantastic acting, editing and effects were fluid, costumes were amazing, it's just, aw striking. Man well done everyone!
IT'S SO GOOD!!! The character designs, the 3D environments! The prison looked absolutely SICK, the ruins of L'Manburg made my heart hurt, Wilbur's limbo was picture perfect! And the acting?? So AMAZING!! Tommy was amazing, the TEARS when Ghostbur died?? And Wilbur and Ghostbur? JUST AMAZING! ALL OF THEM! Sam's actor was just amazing as well, their costume? AMAZING! Tommy and Sam's fight? Everything about this was just phenomenal! And I LOVED the way you portrayed the revival with Dream's hand and book sort of merging. Overall, one of the best things I've ever see come out of this fandom!

I got literal chills watching this! The characters, the cinematic designs, the little effects, EVERYTHING IS SO WELL DONE! I absolutely loved how it looked and felt when Dream revived Wilbur in the prison. I LOVE THIS!!!
Yoooo this a hazard to watch in public, because I was grinning like a maniac the whole time from how EPIC this is.

i think im going to lose my mind /pos this has to be one of the coolest "fanart" things i've ever seen come from this community. i never would have thought that not only would somebody be able to make a 20 minute long short film based on the dsmp, but that it would be so well made too?? some of these shots look like they were taken straight from a high production movie so the fact that this was made by ONLY 2 PEOPLE???? just absolutely incredible job.
Woah this is so cool. I love the way the characters were done. Especially Sam and Dream, Dream's eye glowing really made him look as dangerous as he is on the SMP.
And on top of that the camera angles and the acting- jeeeeezzz.... I hope all the DSMP members see this because it's amazing.
The effects, costumes, and acting in this short film are AMAZING!! The flickering invisible Tommy, the blue-ish tinted Ghostbur, AND DREAM TURNING PURPLE WHEN WIELDING THE REVIVAL BOOK? PHENOMENAL!! I'm going to watch the Execution right now, beautiful work!

The moment with train, music and when Dream pulls out his hand towards Wilbur gives me chills! I love Sam's outfit! Everyone did very good at acting, I can't imagine how you did the background and light that fits with it, it's amazing! The effects are insane, you all are incredible!

I’ve been having a really hard time watching dream smp content since the news about Techno. Today I found this and your film ‘execution’ and they were both so epic it relit my spark and instantly brightened my mood and my day! I’m obsessed! It’s like after watching an episode of Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead and just instantly craving more the second the episode ends.i can’t wait for any more short films like this. I have my fingers crossed you guys do more epic moments from the smp.Tommy’s death and revival, Ranboos moments in his panic room, Techno’s escape from prison then breaking out Dream, Purpled’s ufo getting destroyed then him betraying Quackity - I didn’t think those moments could get more entertaining but what you guys are able to put together just blows it out of the water! I know this stuff must have taken you a lot of time and effort to put together but it totally paid off! Can’t wait for more!!! Great work!!!!

Yes thank you I wanted my heart to be absolutely destroyed today. This was MENTAL. The costume designs, the settings, the light, all the fun effects with invis and enchantments, freaking ghostbur being an adorable, the music and the sound design, the way the camera tilts up on Sam during the quiz, also camera work in general... AND OMG THE FREAKING BRIDGE AND THE GLOWING GREEN EYE and the freaking BOOK. This is absolutely brilliant 12/10 amazing job on this and all the hard work you put into this. Y'all are so talented!

I remember watching the DreamSMP from the very begining in 2020 and all these little details like the places-buildings the Lightning the sound effects of walking and more ,just all amazinggg!!! It was worth watching this and I really like the way it turned out! The acting was also on a whole new level and oh my god- I loved it.

I was in physical pain when Sam was holding Tommy back while he was just protesting and pleading to go over to Ghostbur.
Wonderful work. Especially the invisibility effects, the little glimpses of Tommy you could see throughout the entire thing was a nice detail. Small but important.

the biggest thing that stood out to me in this is that yall have done a much better job at making it like you were _really there_ if that makes sense. like thats not to say execution was Bad in that regard, but the editing of this one both in terms of lighting and camera shots along (and of course the bloody sound effects MMMMM) have definitely improved since then and let me tell ya it paid OFF, this was great and i literally cannot fathom how yall took just over 2 months for this - i genuinely was surprised at you saying that you had another short film in the works already and i am still very surprised that its here now ??????

not only is the acting incredible, but the sound design and editing are also amazing! the cosplays and body language feel so true to each character. nicely done!!
If it weren't 6 in the morning, I'd be screaming right now.
I have no words to describe how SUPERB that was! Especially seeing how you're only two people and you had a time constraint (Wilbur's revival 1st year anniversary!). Amazing acting work once again. I love how nervous Ranboo looks at 0:40 after Tommy looks at him (note how Ranboo casts a shadow on the wall while Ghostbur doesn't). And Tommy was amazing to watch. I can imagine how difficult it must've been to portray all of the real TommyInnit's constant mannerisms and change of expression, but you matched it perfectly with his audio. Then of course, Ghostbur's acting is to die for (bad joke, sry) and Dream is sooooo wonderfully scary! The action scenes were perfect. 16:19 legit looks super painful. The storytelling was on notch; I think that even someone who has no knowledge of the original story would enjoy this.
The visual effects were out of this world and an absolute joy to my video editor's eyes. The portal, the lava, the revival powers, the consistent lighting, everything. I enjoyed watching Tommy sift in and out of invisibility; it looked so...natural? But not translucent like Ghostbur; you'd made sure that there's a clear difference between the two. Music was perfect to set the tone; nothing distracting. And the audio effects! 4:08 really stood out to me in terms of audio effects. Sam's distant voice, a whiff of invisibility, Tommy's nervous fumbling and heartbeat - all music to my ears (ok, I didn't mean to make that sound creepy). And wow, even that plain wall to the right has perfect detail.
And the BACKDROPS. You guys nailed Pandora's Vault as well as L'Manberg and all the little places in between. I love the attention to details with the buttons and machinery and the lava coming out of the pipes. You showed so many parts of the Prison and they're all spot on and believable. I also like how at 14:32 and onward, you can catch glimpses of the inside of Dream's cell. You dudes didn't skimp on a single thing. I really appreciate that you included a section with the train station, and that moment, everyone's holding their breath for the first view of Wilbur, who looks fantastic BTW.
SPEAKING on costumes, in regards to Wilbur's design, who else noticed that the bloodstains on his sweater are red in limbo, and blue post-revival? The Axe of Peace IS the Axe of Peace, and you did a good job at making it look heavy. Ranboo looks much more deteriorated since we saw him last in the Execution film, with deeper tear scars.
I could probably keep going (and probably would if I didn't have prior commitments). Thank you sooo much, Hero Destrin and Frostiar. I can't wait to see what mind-blowing masterpiece you give us next! Farewell, and God bless!

Personally, I dislike the Dream SMP and a small portion of its fans who make outrageous things. But this is a work of art. Props to everyone who worked on it.
the only toxic and outragous people off the Dream SMP are Schlatts fanbase. Nearly every stream he does, they have to find ways to call the DSMP fans names for no reason. Even the man himself goes on massive "stan" rants and ban-fests. I think he's done two massive blockings on his twitch, while yelling "fuck you." and laughing.

Holy crap the effects… you outdid yourselves. It gave so much nostalgia because it felt like I was watching a 2000s movie, but unlike those movies, the people looked like they were in the scene, everything felt concise ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THE LIGHTING WHICH I APPRECIATE SO MUCH. Amazing work, this must have taken ages to make and appreciate your dedication to the craft. Hope you make more stuff in the future!!!

This is incredible! I felt like I was watching a movie in the theaters. Dream looks sick! I fell in love with his character design. The invisibility flickering in and out is amazing and the actor who plays Tommy did great. I actually felt sad for him. Amazing work. I'm looking forward to the next one.

The animation for the revibebook was really good, also the Terrifing laugh brought chills down my spine.

OH MY GOSH THIS WAS NUTS! I cant even decide which was better, this one or the other short film. I do some acting myself so I can kid of appreciate the level of skill you guys have but you also need to get the timings right with the voices. Not to mention all of the work on the backgrounds, the props, the music, the costumes, everything.This is amazing! Great work guys!
