Another great video for someone who is good angler in fresh water but you are demystifying the apprehension of approaching salt water. You are giving me confidence and making me look forward to getting down there soon.
Thanks , just like the first video (FISH HERE) valuable information we checked them out great places . We do kayak fishing and going to add these areas to our go to list....
Great information! Light House Lakes is one of my go to places to fish.. I’ve caught lots of reds drifting across the flat using a small drift sock on my kayak.
Hey Schwind, love your videos as they've helped me a ton on finding places to fish since I moved to corpus. Have a question about fish pass, the channel not the jetties. I really enjoy this spot but have caught trout, croaker, catfish, and pin fish but have yet to catch any reds. Could you recommend maybe a good bait to use for Reds in this area and if you have a preference on where to fish for them here. Thank you and thanks again for the informational videos
Hi Chris. Thanks for the comment! Redfish can be very hit or miss in the area. I have had really good days catching Redfish at Fish Pass and I have had days where I catch nothing at all. My best advice would be to fish early morning at the mouth of the channel. If you can get something like a dead shrimp or cut mullet right on this drop off 27.694436443622667, -97.18483309787008 you should do pretty well! Good luck!
@@SchwindOutdoors one more question if you don't mind. Do you prefer a popping cork, jig head, or free lining? Thanks. Just trying to figure the best way to catch some of these things so my son will get super excited.
@@Beehivekids It really depends on the situation. I usually start with a popping cork and if they are not hitting it I will move to the bottom. I like to free line shrimp with a small weight, but it is often too windy for that. If I am fishing the bottom, I typically use a jig head or a carolina rig.
I imagine the jetties are pretty tough right now with the cold and the wind. But once the weather gets a little more consistent the redfish, trout, black drum, and flounder should be great.
@@SchwindOutdoors ok well crap if you had to catch a something to survive what would you do right now? im struggling all ive caught are what some lady called a pig fish?😆
I like to have him in my videos every now and then so that I can have them to look back on. When He is a little older I plan on having him in more of them with me. I hope you enjoyed the video!

That's great to hear! One of my goals for this channel is to make inshore fishing more approachable. Thanks for the comment, it means a lot!

Very cool! Thanks for the comment!
Watch out for the big boats. They need a no wake zone.

@@dirtlegchaser2424 If I had one option right now, I would probably go to the mouth of Fish Pass and throw some shrimp on the bottom.

Having your cute kiddo on the beginning of the video was a great attention grabber, or at least for a female fisher. Lol

Teach a child to fish. The rewards last a life time.
I already have him carrying around a kids fishing pole just to get used to it! I can't wait to get him on his first fish. Thanks for the comment!
