Feel your pain. A layer of permanently wet, leafy slurry along our road and the salt on the roads in the Scottish Highlands ensure that my van is filthy again the very same day I wash it in winter……I just jet wash the arches, as far underneath as I can get (not very far on a heavily lowered van 🙄)and the worst of it off the bodywork at a jet wash over winter now. Still love watching Heather weave her magic though. ❤
Genuinely completely agree with you. In the uk I think there’s a solid argument for doing a proper wash and putting something on in Nov, then just wipe lights and numberplate for the next 3 months
@@owainstravels3381 Yup, tbh I bet these detailers who do it for a living don't keep their private car looking perfect (unless its their work car to show off what they can do), I rarely if ever see a clean car on the roads this time of year. Completely wasted effort, time and expense.
@owainstravels3381 Wrong, I disagree. I have been detailing vehicles for over 45 years, I keep all (3) of my vehicles clean. They get a complete detail every 3 to 4 months and washed every week. Love watching your videos, I'm an older guy with the limitations that come with age and I do my best to keep my vehicles looking good, for anyone with youth and energy on their side you truly are an inspiration, well done keep up the good work.

Another great video Heather just spent 3 hours cleaning mine white cars with black trim is not good in winter weather! Thought your matts looked amazing
Those Michelin Pilot Sports really do seem to like Carscope's Ink tyre dressing. Wasn't sure about the new version of Ink when I opened it as it's much thinner than the old one but it's working just as well plus it gets into all the little areas of the tyre wall better. Need to try that tyre finisher as well to matt the finish down a bit for that OEM plus look. Nice video again Heather.
Beautiful work Heather! I've always liked your Mazda and especially the way that you care for it. Stunning red color. I always learn something from you. Well done!
Another great video! Thank you for sharing - I too had the same problem 12 months ago when using Gyeon Anti-Fog on one of my cars, it was just so difficult to remove the smearing after it was applied. In the end I used a paper towel to remove as much as possible and then followed up with a slightly damp (with water) Glass Polishing e-Cloth - I'm sure this probably removed all of the product. Now I just make sure that my inner glass is as clean as possible, Bilt Hamber Trace-Less is good for this.
MX5 is looking as good as ever! Not sure if you've thought of one but in Winter, I'd recommend getting a hold of an undercarriage wash attachment for the pressure washer - they're about £30-40. Amazing the amount of stuff that comes off and gets the salt off all the parts under there during the Winter months too.
I love that Mazda! I was always a fan of the hard top model over the convertible. Those upgraded alloy wheels look really nice too! I like the look they add to your car. You are lucky to be able to drive such a nice looking sports car! I have a 370Z myself but your Targa topped Mazda looks great. Way better looking than the convertible.
@@AutoCareHQ Yes ma'am. It look me a long time of saving up, but I was able to pay cash for it, which is rare for me on a new vehicle. I love my 370Z. I went and looked at the new Z when I took mine in for routine maintenance and to be honest, the 370Z looks better in my opinion. The seats in the new Nismo version were way too tight and I'm not a big guy either. I'm keeping it for a while until I can upgrade to a Toyota Supra! I've wanted one of those since the new one came out.
As an FYI - I used Adams antifog product a couple of years ago which was very easy to apply. Also, very envious you have the new Carbon Collection mini polisher, I so want it! (Also it’s really pretty 😂)

What a finish with some very good products. I did a deep clean on the 3 glass last week following your previous procedure i.e wash, clay, water spot remover, glass cleaner & glass polish then panel prep in preparation for Yum Glass+ when it arrives. I am hoping to get an early start in the morning to do a deep clean so I can get a wax on the paint for winter protection and maybe my paint will get close to yours as it does look really good when it is clean & protected.

Beautiful video and you earned a new subscriber but how many chemicals could one use just on a single car? By the way your Mx-5 looks utterly Concours level of detailing care. Better than new.
I just more or less did that on both my vehicles. Tiring. I dont know about you, but the feel/sound of clean protected leather is addicting. Particularly the seats. I use Gyeon for the seats as well and is my go-to for protection. I case you were wondering.......i hate winter!!
Great job Heather, was the steam on the mats to bring the pile back up of was it a method of cleaning them? Nice glossy results on the paintwork, i find its much easier to get good results like that if you just stay on top off the cleaning and do a good job regularly, great work keep it up Heather.
Thanks Chris! It was a bit of both really. The steam is enough to keep these pretty clean as they don't get too dirty in between. I usually give them a proper extraction every 4 months or so to deep clean them too
Great job as always Heather! Any chance of a review/your thoughts on the cordless polisher? Ive been considering one myself for smaller jobs like polishing the windscreen or headlights etc.
Great video as always! Has the feedback you’ve heard about Gyeon anti fog been mostly positive or negative? What was the ambient temperature and humidity? Hope to see a follow up video if you are able to get anti fog to work. Thanks!
Nice work on your Mazda, looks immaculate. I must pay some attention to glass cleaning and protection as it's something I don't really do. How often do you protect your leather?
How do you clean the windshield on the inside in front of the steering wheel. It's a pain to clean 😅. Got an rf too and love it. Great video, as always 👍
Good choice of car haha! Have you seen these from Carbon Collective, they can be pretty handy for that area although it still can be a touch awkward to fully reach the bottom: www.in2detailing.co.uk/products/carbon-collective-vue-glass-mitt?variant=40891610103887&ghref=3377%3A53788
Another fantastic job Heather. I hope you charged yourself 'mate's rates'😂 Have you treated your car to a new exhaust for Christmas, or did you preclean the bore?🤔 It looked exceptionally clean before you washed it.
Hello Caretakers. Normally the cobbler always wears the worst shoes - but not in this case. This car shines on the highest level. Almost too good for the winter.
Hi Heather, just wanted to say thank you for all the videos. I’ve just received my first order from in2Detailing after watching your video on a budget start up kit, bilt hamber auto foam, tyre serum, towels and shampoo. These were all delivered the next day so excellent customer services, I still have some brushes to buy so I’ll be using them again. Again thanks for the advice, do you have any suggestions for an odour eliminator ? Just bought a new car and they used a really strong smelling cleaner that still smells two weeks later, really strong chemical smell. Thanks
Thanks very much for watching them Nick! Glad you're happy with the purchases too :) I've not tried it yet, but Gyeon have an odour eliminator pad which could be worth a look. Here's my affiliate link to it so you can get the 5% discount when you checkout: www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/gyeon-q2m-odor-remover-pads&aff=liDuvBig
@AutoCareHQ had a paint protection on the car four weeks ago and only happened since then and also smears when raining I've cleaned wipers could the dealership accidentally dripped a bit on windscreen
I have the same car, same colour, but not allowed to wash at home, I drive to a local wash station facility, where the chemicals don’t end up in the river!
Hi Heather, can you explain why you don't wash all jams and simply just dry them after washing? This method seems to be a risk for the paint imo. Second, have you ever used View Evo? If you use two coats without removing in between, this new version applies quite easily and works a treat! Please let me know your opinion on this product. Keep it up!
Thanks for watching 😊 the door jambs never get that dirty with my car and most of the dirt gets washed away through the panel gaps during the exterior cleaning process. If they were dirtier though I’d use a mitt and shampoo as that’s definitely a safer method if there’s any grit in there. I’ve not tried View Evo unfortunately, looks like it could be a good one to try though!
Hi just a quick question do you ever jet wash right under the car not just the wheel arches.. to get rid of any salt a road grime.cheers mike.ps have you got any protection underneath the car.
Apart from the fantastic job you just did, how's the little Mazda holding up? I was looking around and they seem to be a very good compromise in quality/price, but I'm a bit esitant with the thousands of equal but different hybrid options they offer, it's just really confusing
Great vid as per usual! Love those tyre mats. Anyhoo, got a couple of wee questions. I git my used Audi A3 last month and almost ready to do first wash, just waiting on products. However, just noticed (cant believe i didnt notice earlier 🤦🏻) that i have a 1" x 2" patch of rust bubbles on back wheel arch 😭 when prewashing/washing should i work around it? As in, dont go over it directly with Pressure washer hose or wash mitt. Worried about ripping the paint off! Second question, have noticed you use Soft99 Glaco in the past, would you say the product you used in this vid is better? I dont have a polisher so Glaco was what I was thinking of getting.
Thank you! I would avoid blasting it with the pressure washer but as long as the paint is intact then I think you should be okay going over it gently with the wash mitt. I would say atm that Glaco seems like a more wiper resistant option so I'd go for that
@@AutoCareHQ thanks for response. Yeah, will go easy when washing. Hoping to get it properly repaired in Feb once I have saved up enough - have heard these things ain't cheap 😭

I usually give them a proper extraction every 4 months or so to deep clean them too
Anti fog is always a pita , tried a few, never again
Great job as always Heather! Any chance of a review/your thoughts on the cordless polisher? Ive been considering one myself for smaller jobs like polishing the windscreen or headlights etc.
Thank you! Yep I'll add it to my list :) It's well worth considering though it's a cool little machine
@AutoCareHQ I look forward to it. It looks like a similar machine to the flex pxe but at half the cost which is why I've been considering it.
Nice video as always 👍🏽
Thank you!
Great video as always! Has the feedback you’ve heard about Gyeon anti fog been mostly positive or negative? What was the ambient temperature and humidity? Hope to see a follow up video if you are able to get anti fog to work. Thanks!
Thank you! It seems like this is a fairly common problem when I've looked at some reviews. I think it was about 12 Celcius here and about 70% humidity
Nice work on your Mazda, looks immaculate. I must pay some attention to glass cleaning and protection as it's something I don't really do. How often do you protect your leather?
Thanks Simon! I usually do this every 3-4 months
Hi good video where did you get that gun from 😊
How do you clean the windshield on the inside in front of the steering wheel. It's a pain to clean 😅. Got an rf too and love it. Great video, as always 👍
Good choice of car haha! Have you seen these from Carbon Collective, they can be pretty handy for that area although it still can be a touch awkward to fully reach the bottom: www.in2detailing.co.uk/products/carbon-collective-vue-glass-mitt?variant=40891610103887&ghref=3377%3A53788
Amazing job! This car looks mint! What year is this mx-5? Soul red or soul red crystal?
Thank you! It's a 2018 and it's soul red crystal :)
another great detail :)
Thank you!
Nice work !
Thanks!
Thanks for the brilliant full winter prep video! Curious to know, how does gyeon view and glass+ stack up against soft99’s glaco and de cleaner?
Thanks for watching! At the moment I'd say Soft99 Glaco is a better option, it does seem to be more wiper resistant than Gyeon Quick View
@ thanks for sharing. Not many people can buy and test products themselves so your honest review is much appreciated
Another fantastic job Heather. I hope you charged yourself 'mate's rates'😂
Have you treated your car to a new exhaust for Christmas, or did you preclean the bore?🤔 It looked exceptionally clean before you washed it.
Haha cheers Stephen! Nope this is just the stock one, I've always kept it pretty clean though and this car barely kicks out anything haha
Hello Caretakers. Normally the cobbler always wears the worst shoes - but not in this case. This car shines on the highest level. Almost too good for the winter.
Beautiful as always lady Heather
Thanks for watching!
Here's my affiliate link to it so you can get the 5% discount when you checkout: www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/gyeon-q2m-odor-remover-pads&aff=liDuvBig
awesome Vid👍🏼 Can you give info on wheels and size Please
Thanks! They’re Japan Racing JR28 in Hyper Black, the size is 17x7
Hi Heather any advice on how to stop rain repellant to stop smearing I struggle to stop this and many thanks on another excellent video
Thank you! Are you using a damp microfibre towel to remove it?
@AutoCareHQ thanks for replying there brand new unwrapped and getting like a fog affect if you know what I mean
Hmm I'm not sure what could be causing it to be honest, best bet would be to try contacting the brand and see if they've got any advice
@AutoCareHQ had a paint protection on the car four weeks ago and only happened since then and also smears when raining I've cleaned wipers could the dealership accidentally dripped a bit on windscreen
good skill,nice car!
Thanks!
For some reason Heather nobody gets on well with Gyeon anti fog 😢 something Gyeon really need to look at
Yeah it seems to have similar reviews to mine, just wish it was easier to buff off
I have the same car, same colour, but not allowed to wash at home, I drive to a local wash station facility, where the chemicals don’t end up in the river!
Very nice job. I HATE any temperature that's under 70*F
Thanks for watching!
@ thanks for sharing a great video!
Hi just a quick question do you ever jet wash right under the car not just the wheel arches.. to get rid of any salt a road grime.cheers mike.ps have you got any protection underneath the car.
🎉looks great heather 👍👍😊👏
Thank you!
never heard of wheel shampoo
What did you use to make the lines on the mats? Awesome Vid BTW 🤩🤩🤩
Thanks! Sorry I forgot to add the link, it’s just called a pet hair removal block. Most detailing stores sell them including In2Detailing
Apart from the fantastic job you just did, how's the little Mazda holding up?
I was looking around and they seem to be a very good compromise in quality/price, but I'm a bit esitant with the thousands of equal but different hybrid options they offer, it's just really confusing
Thanks Dave :) I love this car to be honest, I don't really have any desire to get anything else at the moment I can't really fault it
Great vid as per usual!
