- Using a newly created adaption of The New Order for Victoria 2, we embark on the start of a campaign featuring many wars, funny stories, and clashes of nations. We start in the year 1962, a year filled with conflicts across the globe that will be resolved through diplomacy, use of rules, and luck.

Fun Fact, TNO was originally a vic 2 mod but the dev didnt know how to program in it in so he switched to hoi4.
That makes sense because hoi4 is horrible for any amount of time over 8 years

Interesting how Heydrich, easily the weakest German faction in the HoI4 mod, fared so well in this mod. Anyway, considering how conflicts in HoI4 are essentially ideological, while the conflicts in Vicky 2 are geopolitical, it's interesting to see how different the diplo goes.

The fuck are you guys talking about of course ww2 was brought about by geopolitics, the war did not start because of ideologies and even italy and germany and japan were not friends for any other reason than having the same enemies, (same as the allies and soviets or france and britain, or britain and the USA, they all were in there for their own separate interests and reasons, and mostly due to being victims of attacks by the same nations) which they had purely because of national interests, none of this was because of ideology, the soviets and the germans obviously could not have sustained a peaceful relationship on account of the specifics of german ambition at the time and the war was because the germans were at their strongest and the soviets were at a low ebb and recovering from it. I have no idea what revisionist history you're talking about obviously every conflict is mostly because of geopolitics and ideology is just part of it, and a pretty small part

TNO to me always made more sense being in something like victoria rather then hoi4 just due to time scaling. Seeing the diplomatic freedom and genuine geo-political maneuverability beyond dumbass scripted event decisions in some convoluted UI in this is so much more cooler then TNO's railroaded systems too. Just wish the starting borders were different I guess. Like just seeing at the start how Iberia could intervene on the invasion of France or hearing that you could actually play it into the 90s kind of blew my mind, as someone whos only ever played hoi4.
Different how? I hear a good amount of people mention the original borders or different ones, but I'm not sure if they're referring to the Mediterranean or something else. Also, very insightful comment about the game used for the mod.
Its not such a big deal but it is definitely strange. I notice how Hungaries borders with Slovakia is weird, thier border with Romania is even stranger with Hungary not even owning majority Hungarian land. Somehow Romania owns Crimea which in actual TNO is basically the Reich's naval colony. Somehow Bulgaria is cucking Romania too with taking all the land up to the Danube. The Reichkommisariats of the east are different but to be fair what they'd look like after winning ww2 is anyones guess since they never actually won. Except for Bohemia, which for some reason owns the Sudetenland plus a random chunk of Germany proper which makes absolutely 0 sense unless theres a weird lore reason. I'm guessing that when it comes to the Balkans its set up to be a conflict zone or something with the bizzare borders but I think that could be accomplished through more subtler means @@bigweevil

What happens if you convert that to HoI4 (in a sense of using a Paradox Game Converter, because HoI 4 TNO:LDoE mod already exists)? What leaders would rule countries and what ideologies which country would follow (because converter mod uses different set in comparison to TNO mod for HoI 4)? Although nations would use WW2 tech after conversion to HoI4.

It's in the eye of the beholder for a lot of these rule arguments. Sometimes a rule is protecting people from being unfairly cheesed, sometimes it empowers bad people to win in stupid ways, sometimes it depends which side you're on. Although I definitely think that the move was questionable at best and most people would prefer not getting ordered 66'd in Victoria 2.

In the Original TNO mod for HOI4, the mod had Italy dry up the Mediterranean sea for securing food production, that failed and the new land Italy gained is useless and caused massive drought, in the more recent versions of the mod (in HOI4) those lands are severy reduced it doesn't look so grotesque as in this mod...

Omsk thinking it was ok to declare war with his troops on another player's troops is wild to me. Obviously in the wrong, should've gone "my bad, can I multi-province retreat them back to my territory and continue the war from there?" rather than go full idiot.

I'm aware of the project and I've talked to the devs a few times, it's a very cool and promising project. At the moment, no groups are doing multiplayer games with it, so don't expect any content there anytime soon (although I'd certainly like to test it). I don't know if I'll do a review style video like I did with Victoria 3 though. Those kinds of videos feel out of place compared to the multiplayer content, but they tend to do well, so you never know.

I think it's promising and has some cool stuff (at least for MP), there's some issues like rebels having mil tech, quick day 1 annex wars, and playerless areas (as mentioned), but it's worth checking out.
