MR2 2ZZ - testing Yokohama A052's

First session of the day at Aintree testing Yokohama's A052. Very different from the A048's they replaced as the sidewalls feel much softer in comparison. They grip just as well, maybe even better but initial turn in is very different. Think I'll try to up the pressures next time as I only had this session on them before switching to slicks.
There was also a switch of wheel and tyre size vs the A048s, as I'm trying to tweak in gear speeds for my local track Oulton Park so I don't need to use 5th gear.
A048 rears 220/610/15 - top of 4th gear 108mph
A052 rears 225/50/16 - top of 4th gear 113mph

Need a bit more testing, but yeah they seem like a good tyre.

Great video. What does the tire life look like on a lighter car compared to heavier cars that complain about the 52s becoming hot too quickly?

A052s wear well on the MR2. You can rotate them as well, which helps longevity. If you are contemplating them, just do it! They are the best tyre by a long way.
