Here are some more ideas from viewers: You can also stencil over patterned paper and rotate a stencil when ink blending to give a layered patterned effect. (@steph8656 ) It would be good to spray the stencil with ink & print that first, then stamp in some of the gaps to give a partial stamped/blank effect with the stencil outline ... When you brayer over ink or paint on a stencil, you can then brayer on blank cardstock or on a gel plate & you will transfer a slightly grungy version of the pattern. (@allisonjames2923) The splatter hexagon I would a draw around edge similiar to circles. ( @jenniferbaker972)
Yes, love the way she cut down the backgrounds too. I guess I have been thinking about cards wrong for a while. I mean, some of my ideas have been right, but someways I have been thinking about using pieces for backgrounds have been just plain wrong. Or impractical, or not looking good or artistic or something. Why was I in a box and doing it the same way as everybody else? Or why could I just not think of how to do it? I mean things being in their proper place on a card. After watching this video, my mind is so open, and I think I will be able to do cards much better now or at least start doing them better, lol. And the stencil ideas are so great. I’m so excited to get back to card making again!
@@krissyknox7181Hi 😊 I personally wouldn’t say “wrong” but rather different, and here are yet some more different and wonderful ways. Happy creating to you!
New sub, as I'm so impressed with your dedication in helping us, not so brave card makers, to attempt simple yet glorious results! Compliments for doing an absolute full tutorial in one go! This was an ah! moment, not having to wait for your results but having the total steps in one go! I am so impressed and overjoyed with watching a well constructed, thought out kiss of items. Very calming to the nerves!😂.Thank you again 🙏 🎉
I’ve watched this more than twice and I can’t even remember all these techniques! let alone do them! I saved it in my library so I can have a lot to try someday! I knew some of course, but you really pushed the envelope on this! Unbelievable! Excellent video!
Thanks for not splitting into two bits as it’s so good to have all that info together . Thanks for putting together such a comprehensive list . Thanks for telling me cutting down all those backgrounds I have makes them so much more useable and often more attractive .
ALL of these techniques are interesting and do-able. I might like the doodling and resists the most. While watching (and taking notes on screenshots) I was thinking, "I wish she had time to show cards she made from these." And lo and behold.....! THANK YOU!!
Wow , that’s a lots of amazing ideas . Must have taken you an age to come up with all those ideas for the stencils ,let alone filming editing and commentary. You put so much hard work into your channel . Thank you so much for your dedication. X
I love the CAS cards but I always find myself wanting to have a little less white space. So with so many cool backgrounds that were cut down into little banners or strips just broke my heart! they really were all so cool! Even the very abstract purple you baby wiped off the ink I loved it! I may have partially stenciled it in places with white paste over it to tone it down a bit . But Natalie all your cards are very beautiful! Just amazing job! And to think you did stamping sentiments the other night besides! Aaaahhhh! I’d love to have time in my stamp room! I loved your addition of strings and hand drawing too!
What a great video! I am excited to try some of these ideas! What struck me with your finished cards was how amazing they looked with so much white space! The gold die cuts with the small piece of stenciled art was more than enough! Gorgeous! I love your creativity!
I appreciate the incredible amount of time and work it took to demonstrate all of these wonderful techniques. Thank you for sharing. I can't wait to give them a try.
Love seeing how you use these prints. I’m going to have to look up your gel printing videos. My favorite was the one where you traced the circles three times,
Absolutely smashing ideas and how to stretch out stencils. Thank you for all these ways and your inspiration with finished cards. Very much appreciated ❤
Finished watching the entire video and I must add how wonderful these ideas are ..so pretty and many ideas that are new to me. And the cards that were made are just lovely. I'm looking forward to trying many out, but if I had to pick one, I especially liked the stamping through the stencil. Also glad all together and not in two parts.
Another one for me to save for future CASing! Fabulous as ever Natalie! Stunning cards from all those great techniques! As ever TFS and have a great week! 👍💖
I save your vids to my files with the name of the supplies you are using. I love how you quickly go through all the techniques in your videos and show cards at the end. I don't make clean cards, but I appreciate your technique vids on using supplies.
Wow! This must be the most extensive stencil technique video I've ever watched! I have used most of these techniques, but still learned something new. Thanks for sharing! ❤
Watching this 1st January 2025.....Happy New Year....... Love your work and gain so much from each of your videos. Have not been card making for months due to poor health but your videos have helped keep me connected. Have to admit, your use of white space scares the living daylights out of me 😮 but love your work and plan to start using some of your ideas this week for thank you cards. Keep the idea coming.....use what you have is becoming my mantra. Once again, happy new year and huge thank you.
Thank you for this very timely video. Yesterday I popped into a charity shop and bought a big bag of stencils for £1. I am going to have fun exploring some of your techniques and getting messy!
I want that wobbly circle stencil and definitely wish I could get the different size circles you drew around! I don’t think I have one and oddly I love circles!
Thank you for so many techniques in one video! And for showing the finished cards - sometimes hard to see in my mind how beautiful they will become once trimmed and embellished !
I appreciate the time you took to show all the different ways to use stencils, but I appreciate even more having you show how you turned them into cards. I’m great at making lots of backgrounds, but then I struggle with how to utilize them in my card-making. Thank you for this video!
Wow, Wow, Wow!!! Everything I wanted to know about stencils (and a bunch of others I didn't even know I needed to know)! This was fantastic! The time just flew by because I was so absorbed in each technique. I can't even tell you a favorite because I loved ALL the techniques and ALL the cards. Very inspiring video!!! 🥰👍👍👍👍👍
This video has been a delight to watch. It contains so many ideas, tips, and tricks in one go. Your cards are stunningly beautiful. Thank you for your time and for sharing your creativity. Hugs from Guatemala!
Oh my. I really do have a dull brain. I’ve done maybe two of these techniques with my stencils. 😳 THANK YOU for all the time and effort you put into this wonderful video, Natalie. My favorite at first blush is the one with gilding flakes. I REALLY appreciate how you managed to create such CAS cards with the busier backgrounds! 💕
WOW!!! Natalie, this was awesome!! So many ways to use stencils!! I have not used my stencils in a long long time!!! It is helpful to see how you used the backgrounds and cutting some of them down!! Looking forward to your next video!!
Thank you so much - a wonderful video - u r my favorite presenter - I will be trying all of these techniques except for ones that have spatter - I am not a fan of spatter lol
I love all your ideas! So many of these techniques I've never tried before, but I'm always needing new ways to create cards that don't look so much alike. Thanks for including the cards that you created. It's wonderful to see how the images look on the cards and also see that you could get multiples from each technique.
Blessings Natalie. The back ground techniques are always fun but watching you make the cards is awesome!! They just make those backgrounds come to life! Love love love❤️❤️❤️👍
❤ doing this with my stencils haven’t played in years very nice 😊 TFS. Need to make my craft room in my bedrooms since Covid and flood in 2022 I am having hard time finding help 😞. I also lost my good brass stencils and silver ones my friend Lynell see owned, Dreamweaver and made Stencils and paste, mica powders so many techniques. My family auctioned my storage office and work room 😢 because they didn’t pay them as my mother got sick 😞 and lied saying it was there we would work on it this year .
These are all so unique and truly quite amazing. I love all the techniques but I believe my favorite was the stamp thru the stencil. I think it's because of the "splatter" stamp but I'll try this idea with different stamps and see if it remains my fav! Cutting those "samples" down for use on a card made quite a difference. I'm not a CAS card maker but I can go for these!!! I believe some vellum leaves, stems, hearts, on some of the cards would have added a nice touch too. For an easy cleaning tip; use a Swiffer duster (either the pad for the Swiffer floor mop or the piece that slides onto the handle of the Swiffer hand held duster) and it will pick up all that glitter with one quick swipe. These work so fast and pick up everything (glitter, embossing powder, Gilding Flakes, etc)!
Loved seeing all the cards you made and great to be reminded of stencilling techniques with just a few new to me ones which was a bonus! Thanks for the inspiration x PS you can also stencil over patterned paper and rotate a stencil when ink blending to give a layered patterned effect x
Just found you, subscribed, and can’t wait to go explore more of your videos! So many cool ideas, beautiful cards, and so much great info! Thank you 💜 P.S. I’ve never wanted a die cutter and dies as much as I have now that I see what you’ve done with them in pretty gold accents! OMG more tools! 🤭😅😂
Such a great video! Thank you for sharing all of those techniques. Biggest takeaway: cutting down your backgrounds for effective CAS cards. I always forget that's an option LOL!
That's great having them all together as I can refer back to it when I have forgotten, which I will do!!!. There are too many to choose a favorite, not seen drawing round the inside of the stencil before though. I don't know which to try first 😃❤
Your stencil technique was amazing to watch with some fantastic ideas, then seeing all of the cards that you made with those stencil background WOW. Thank you for this video and your talent.

I really enjoyed watching your utube. So many ideas. I love how you cut down the different finished backgrounds. Lots of ideas to think about. Thanks
