Hemalergy is just terrifying, the implication that you could steal other worlds powers, and that its end negative, implying you are also weakening the power as whole, means Hemalergy is a devasting tool against opposing cosmere worlds
Feruchemy is one of my top picks too. If I had to lead my current life the way I am, I would pick Feruchemy for sure. If I had to save the world in a fantasy novel though, I'd pick something with a bit more kick to it XD
@@RavensRants but feruchemy can grant you access to any other magic system in Cosmere. It is much cleaner than hemalurgy, but needs much more steps to do it (also access to rare metals and users of other magic systems that want to cooperate with feruchemist).
While you didn't speak about this, Sandmastery from White Sands is a pretty cool system, especially with how it is limited by the water in a user's body and the white sand around the user, whilst also allowing the system being capable of growth with how overmastery works.
Well a mist born burning atium could easily kill any radient and some rather powerful mistborns could beat people like kaladin in some cases and full twinborns could beat the shit out of anyone especially if they have atium and if they know hemalurgy they could literally steal a radients bond and if done correctly, permintly
Problem is that a lot of magic systems are so utility-based that there's no easy way to compare them to a combat-based magic system. How does one compare apples to oranges?
@@RavensRants Very true, that is the one problem I was thinking of. Maybe you could do combat vs utility systems? Kind of like comparing fruit, but comparing all citrus/ all berries if that makes any sense. Because you are right that utility is very hard if not impossible to properly compare 1 to 1 versus combat based
@@carlsmith4568 Allomancy can do some extremely strong things combat and utility wise. Same applies to feruchemy and hemalurgy. Surgebinding has a lower skill floor, but I believe allomancy has a similar skill ceiling so to say.

@@RavensRants I'm actually stressing after realising that Mistborn takes part of a larger Universe. I got spoiled by a client at my work place, that have read the books xD I can't wrap my head around thay
To me, it makes more sense for Feruchemy to be of preservation rather than allomancy, with allomancy being the combined ruin and preservation power. Preservation doesn’t really imply end positive gain, but rather the end neutral of feruchemy.
I mean, allomancy gives me "sacrfice to save the greater whole" vibes. Something people also forget is that allomancy was created to defeat ruin, something preservation l couldn't do its own. Hemalergy, in turn, was ruins response to allomancy. Feurchamy was the only magic system made for it owns sake
Since reading emperors soul, forging has become one of my favorite magic systems. It seems to be one of the most artistic of the invested arts, save possibly for fabrials. Changing an object by very specifically altering its past is incredibly interesting and I really hope to see more of it. I would love to see a whole novel focusing on forging.
I liked the Mistborn magic system it's one of my faves in the Cosmare universe. It lets you use specific attributes/spells by burning a particular metal. The series had some plot, not simply a shady story with plot twists written to take your attention at the end, but rather keeps you reading.
The thing about Aon Dor is that although you theoretically could strip an army of radiants of their powers, doing so would take a tremendous amount of time and knowledge. Even simple Aons take some time to draw, and speed is something that can't be underestimated. A radiant with the surge of gravitation, abrasion, or maybe transportation could get to you very quickly, and theres not really an easy way to stop them. They have Shardblades, which can cut through almost anything with little to no resistance, and can instantly kill anything (though maybe not elantrians because they might not register fully as living or dead). They have healing so if you use smaller Aons to try to keep them at bay you had better hope it kills them quickly. The ones in their later oaths have Shardplate which can drastically increase their strength, hold up against normally devastating forces, and block investiture based attacks. Even the ones who don't have surges that directly affect mobility can still use their surges to devastating effect. Soulcasting for one might be able to change the shape of Elantris, and we all know how that goes. In a battle between an army of Radiants and an army of Elantrians, I would not say that it would have an obvious winner.
Hmmmm. 🤔 A pressurized magic system on Sel. I hadn't quite thought of it that way before now. We know 2 whole shards of investiture are crammed in Shadesmar there. It might be bursting to be freed and the pressure release mechanism was, in part, the Dor. Going for 10 years without any Elantrians releasing pressurized investiture made it choose Raoden who suffered great pains of this pressure at times. The other magic systems ought to help relieve this pressure too. I need to dwell on this more. Thanks for the video 🙂👍
Feruchemy is for sure one of my favorite magic systems, mostly because theres ways i can imagine using it to benefit in both storing and using the stored powers. Most other types of investiture require consumption to be useful, but one could, for example, store strength/weight to become physically smaller and more in order to escape a grab, then use that stored strength and weight to deliver a more powerful than expected blow to the grappler.
@@tonyfriendly4409 thats the name for aluminum and duralumin mistings, basically, because their powers rely on having another allomantic ability they're completely useless hence gnat
The section on AonDor and Selish systems is missing a crucial fact. You do not have to draw Aons yourself or to know what you are doing. That is very unlike Awakening. Hence it is perfectly possible to pay somebody for making Aonic items. Those people don't even need to be Elantrians.
Just wandering, what if an elantris used aeon dor to give themselves other powers. i dont know if this is possible but that could be a possibly godly character that could give themselves every other magic system in the cosmere and then for example allomancy they could make all the metals they need and then gain surge binding and possibly take away all limitations the magic system and then basically become a god, this could also apply to them making themselves able to move at the speed of sound. can someone tell me if this would be possible?.

Also you body have somethink like 300 places for spike, soo you can have new unknow powers if you know rathe places in you. Cost is high, but think aboaut this all murderst you mast take...I mean all fun...
The scaryiest thing about it is that anyone can do it. A world with no magic of their own could use hemalergy to steal foreign magic systems, and they could absolutely dominate with the versatility of it. The fact that its end negative is actually a perk in this case, since your are basically stealing abilitys of your enemies and using them against them, which in many cases would destroy the power for the enemy as well.
See... I'm not so sure that Eon Dor necessarily has these limitations. I swear I read somewhere that Sanderson had explained the power source as being another dimension, which would make Elantris more of a signal booster for the connection to that dimension. You might have to set another one up if you go far enough away or even to another planet, but if one has the requisite knowledge that should be possible.
My bad, that was the explanation presented by Sanderson when talking about first conceptualizing the magic in Elantris, but looking it up he seems to have changed the explanation somewhat as he expanded the Cosmere.
