Wow this is so cool! This was used in 1918 you said? That's pretty good for over 100 years ago. It works pretty well. I have a black and decker stand mixer I just opened from my garage made in 1988, I love it! The only thing I thought it was gonna have was rotating beaters, the bowl doesn't rotate on its own. It turns by the force of the beaters mixing as it turns on a turntable thing. It still does the job, its just a little different than a kitchen aid mixer.

Impressive for the age. Would like to see when you have it completely restored.

I wanted to buy my niece one of these, but had no idea how big it was - a used one of course. I couldn't hope to afford the price of a new one. I could have purchased one, if I had known it wasn't absolutely huge. I got her a n50 instead. That will have to be good enough.

This is not a kitchenaid mixer it is a Hobart C210. you will not find the name kitchenAid on the mixer. kitchenAid was Hobart's consumer line, Hobart was the commercial line. Kitchenaid's first mixer was the H5 5qt. they have never maid a 10qt.

Hey so I know this is a video that's over 8 years old but I'm going to be getting one of these machines also and I'm curious how you've done with yours? I couldn't see any of the photos that were in that link because it was not working. Maybe things have changed in 8 years I don't know if you still check

Hello and a huge thank you for sharing this. I am purchasing the same exact model!! I plan on having the 10 qt. bowl Re-Tinned since its pretty worn, but thankfully there. My C-210 has the whisk just like yours but no flat beater. I would really like to have a beater to broaden what I can mix and was hoping you could point me where you found yours and what they run. I won't need a dough hook fortunately since per your point, those are hard to find. Thank you in advance for any tips you can share on where to find a flat beater or any other parts.

I was fortunate and got another machine for my farm with the beaters - so made a pattern and cast one in aluminum. Got a dough hook as an aftermarket knockoff for a 10qt modern one - it fits fine, so that may be an option for the flat beater too.

@@enduringtechpress Thank you. I will try searching for an aftermarket version. I'm now searching for specs on the motor to see if I can learn how to inspect, maintenance, or worst case, replace the motor. I know we have rebuildling services in our area for alternators and other electric motors so that might be an option as well. Your video was very helpful and gave me confidence to purchase my C 210. Thanks again!!

    Hello
I am also looking at one of these great old mixers the only differences that I can tell is the motor is 1/3 hp and the bottom base has the two prong (feet) instead of the round flat base. It's priced at $650.00 I was wondering what you paid for yours. The guy say's he has all the attachments for the price also.
    Thank You

+Knew Love Hey, I paid $300 for it. Now that was only with the original tinned bowl and the whisk. I had to pick up the beater paddle separately and still need to get the dough hook, and while the J ones area available I'd prefer the spiral which I can't find for the 10qt so I'll likely end up machining or casting one. I'm also going to be picking up a pelican head and accessories. So if the deal your being offered is for the mixer, a stainless bowl and the three basic accessories as well as the pelican head and a few other pieces it might be worth it... but you may also consider waiting or dickering down.

Thank you for your video and reply. Here's what is offered on the deal I'm looking at, mixer, bowl, and the three basic attachments, whip, paddle, whisk ...Unfortunately no pelican head. The unit I'm looking at is green and the base has only two legs unlike yours which has a nice robust plate between the legs to, what I'd think' give your model much more stability. I hope I presented that in a correct way. The man selling it is a bit of a hardballer and doesn't appear to want to dicker at all. Too bad because I loved to pick it up for around $500 not $650. Thank you again for your reply it was nice to see someone other than myself looking to preserve and "use" one of these Hobart's which I feel are not only durable but very beautiful. Almost a piece of functioning art.

Здравствуйте Сергей. Какой планетарный миксер рекомендуете в соотношении цена/качество. Миксер нужен домой, хотелось бы хороший взять чтобы надолго.

Black? Why would you want to "update" it?

Hi, the finish in a lot of places needed to be redone, I could have colour matched it, but figured that if I was repainting I might as well use the black I had on hand.

@@enduringtechpress - nope, it'll loose value and visual appeal with the paint that is shown to still exist. If ANYthing, repaint the original color.
