I tell you what.. if I get fakes, the people I got them from always know about it. Not only do I want my money back, but I want them to realize that THEY need to test and check better. It’s a line and everyone in the line needs to test well. When someone doesn’t test within the line, the end consumer has a chance too at getting these fakes-that can’t happen!
Had hernia surgery five weeks ago, hospital made me remove all jewelry. Three gold rings with coins and diamonds, five 1oz 24K hammered gold bracelets, three gold chains with coins in bezels and a gold Rolex watch. Now I don't feel so bad after seeing what Andrew was wearing.....Bling Bling Bling. Funny think is over the years I end up selling every item I wear just because I'm wearing it when people come in the shop. It's advertising for me plus I'm old and need all the help I can get and YES I'm always packing....lol. Thanks for the video Andrew and MATT. 👍👍👍 Life is good.......God Bless
I have bought a few fake Morgan silver dollars not knowing if they were real from a local pawnshop luckily my local coin shop checked them for me and I was able to get my money back
I'm old and retired (still do some consulting) but there are some jobs I'd do for free just to have the experience. Working with Andrew for a couple of days would be one of them.
That is probably recovered from film processing. And film processing the developer that is drained out is filtered through a machine that filters out the silver that it’s in the film.
Just received a refund from Ebay on 40 Silver Eagles 🦅; China is trying hard to put out fakes on everything!! Always check your stuff , I bought the machine and it has saved me many times over.
It's amazing those Jewelry stores like Zales. Can take a 14k $60 piece of gold. Put some diamond chips in it and sell them for $1600 per ring. When guys like this, can't even sell 18k gold with larger stones for retail.
You should have magnet tested the fakes and cut one in half for our viewing pleasure. The Snortable silver looks like the silver recycled from Lithographic film. Lithographic film is a silver coated film used in the printing industry as Offset printing there are a few types of Lithographic film methods and thickness 4 MIL, 5 MIL and 7 MIL film.
Regarding 2:58, the chemical method to refine scrap silver is to dissolve it in nitric acid. After the dissolved silver has become silver nitrate, add in hydrochloric acid to turn the silver nitrate into silver chloride. Then add in sodium hydroxide (also known as lye) to turn silver chloride into silver oxide. Then add in sugar to precipitate out the gray powder which is silver dust. Melt the silver dust to form a silver bullion bar. On the other hand to refine scrap gold, this requires the use of a highly corrosive acid combination known as "Aqua Regia" which consists of 1 part nitric acid + 3 parts hydrochloric acid. Thereafter either ferrous sulfate or sodium metabisulfite can be added to precipitate out the orange powder which is gold dust. Melt the gold dust to form a gold bullion bar.
I once made silver by doing a reaction or silver nitrate with copper in a solution ( AgNO3+Cu->CuNO3). The Nitrogen and oxygen gets attracted to the copper as copper is more reactive than silver and that leaves pure silver dust, that jar of silver dust looks like the outcome of that reaction.
Man this kind of thing burns me up! I mean it's hard enough being one of the few who "believe in real money" & invest our time/fiat in it then these fakes come into the consideration as well. We need to be able to trust the metal. Whose walking around out here with a sigma strapped in for verification on every purchase?!? 👍 on the vid, but man i get 🔥 up on this subject ❤
I have silver and gold for barter if SHTF actually happens. I've come to the conclusion that the only silver I would recommend for barter is junk or constitutional silver. I have yet to see a counterfeit silver quarter. Every single other silver item I've seen has been faked. eagles, rounds, bars and anything else.
@@williambush7971 True. I'm more buying as an investment to sell in 10-15 years. But that is an interesting point you make. I wonder what times will be like when SHTF - if it's camps left -that have solar panels still (to charge a sigma), or just, total restart of everything? But then again, most don't even have a sigma today.
His Mr. T starter kit looks like it’s coming along nicely 🤣🤣🤣 I’d definitely buy the gold nuggets off of him. Just joking about the starter kit but the natural placer gold like that has a premium and is usually sold for 24k melt value.
That powder in the jar is silver from refining sterling silver. You take the sterling silver put it in acid nitric acid heated up and the silver goes into solution, then filter it and your left with a blue solution with silver in it. Can you take solution and you could go two ways with it you could either put copper tubes in the solution and you turn out to have the silver powder, or you can put hydrochloric acid in the solution and then you get a white powder but you have to use sugar and lye to get the silver out. Big process do it all the time..
@EmpirePreciousMetals Thank you for responding. I love the channel. You're right. Insulting is a strong word.I meant that collectibles are just that. I'm advanced, so it's hard to watch people fall for paint.
The silver compound powder looks like it was recovered from photographic processing chemistry (fixer).
from the chemistry used in the development process or from the film itself through electrolysis.

I would NOT melt or scrap your gold nuggets ! The larger ones can go for much more than melt !! You can send me a nice one for the info. !!
If you listen to the video. Even if I sell them for double melt I make like $60. Not really worth it.
Respect to Andrew for this!
Thanks

Good info guys. Those apmex bars sure looked real. You handled it well Andrew!! Take care guys.
Thanks
Silver "touches" to my skin differently. Sterling vs 999, I can feel it! Weird. It helps. ❤
if they got by you, they could have got by him.
Andrew PITTIES THA FOOL! 👍🐸

Jewelry retail is tough. I wish I could get the prices some of them charge 😂
They are getting good! Great video stormy. A lesson to all of us 😊
What is that x-ray reading machine called that tells you the metal composition by percentages?
XRF analyzer
Andrew has a great attitude.

Im not sure if this is true or not but I have heard that there is gold in the bags of sand at Home Depot.🤷🏼♂️
🧐
Southern VT there's a special river where gold can be found obviously with much effort just saying
$1500 for 10gram nugget in Alaska
So $4500 ozt

if you want to go panning for gold, come out to colorado, i can show you some places
The one vial looks like they threw a few specs of gold in with some Sanka instant coffee. 😆

That looks like cement silver in that jar
EPM sorry for rude comments in the past bro but when u said whats that do they call that pay dirt that made me laugh your funny that was gd
I don’t recall your rude comments, so couldn’t have been that bad. Usually when I get rude comments I either go back at the person or block em.

Have you seen a sunshine mint fake round? That works with the decoder??
Definitely have seen fake silver coins on UA-cam just fyi. They didn't pass a sigma.
@@CppObjectOrientedProgrammer In a SHTH situation chances are you won't have a sigma to verify with.

You are very welcome
I H8T colorized "collectible" pieces. It's damage and insulting. Good luck paying $100+/oz with that man-made graffiti 💩.... 🙄😂
