Interesting. I didn’t know the HY35 could be upgraded. You upgraded a HX35 for me two or three months ago. I have a 2001 Cummins auto. My new HX35 sounds bad ass! Nice whistle to it. I got it set to 29psi and it spools quickly to it.

This is interesting, as my turbo has an HX35 compressor housing, but it’s got the hy vband clamp jointing turbine housing an cartridge. Info on it would be handy.

Currently weighing my options in my 2001 auto truck that tows exclusively. Got my stock hy35 and been looking at a hx35/40 hybrid then seen this video. I've got a turbo mounted exhaust brake so stuck with a modified 35 series holeset. Of the two what would you consider going with in an auto truck? Some fueling mods. Currently not pushing enough air and have the hy35 turn buckled to cool my charge.
Do you think an original Hy35w is good in a 4BT cummins or would a Borgwarner K24 be better?

Hello all i needs some assistance.
Picked up new chra for KKk3 turbo on audi. Placed chra in turbine and noticed that there wasnt enough room and have to clean the housing where they mate. I pull out the chra thats caught up in the 📌 holding pin. Boom chra pops out to the floor. Now im paranoid if could've messed up the balance. Wheel also doesnt spin as freely as old though it spin easily except 1 full turn with a flick of finger vs 2. I noticed this before the trauma but will it loosen up when oil gets in new bearings? I switching from borg warner to merlett chra for k03
Hello , I really hope this question gets answered . You’re my favorite turbo guy and I trust your opinion greatly . Why haven’t you built an hx 35 with a 9 cm turbine housing from an hy 35 ? I know it’s a v band style fit from the cartridge/turbine on an hy 35 . Can’t you machine off the flange of the hy 9cm and weld in a flange that has 4 bolt holes so you can use the hx 35 cartridge ? Then machine turbine housing for 67x76 and compressor like 64x76? It’s got to be a really bad idea right ? On a diesel like 5.9 Cummins would this be a great spooling turbo that doesn’t choke up ? Or would this cause a surge situation ? Wouldn’t this be like the he 351cw but work on an early 5.9 Cummins ? Thanks and god bless

Hello from the Westcoast, Great Video again Austin!! What would be the best combination do you think, for a H1C platform Turbine for a 1st generation Cummings and what would be the cost, do you think Austin. Thank you!!
First of all it’s Cummins, not Cummings. I used a h1c and got a 16cm housing for it. When you match it with 4” exhaust and turn up fuel screw and timing with gov spring, it was running 13’s at 7k ft. On the street corvette owners were upset when they thought they’d pass on a double yellow line and I’d make them look like they were pulling left to park... My clutch lasted about a couple seconds after first pull. I installed a zoom speed racing clutch cause southbend and that at the time was very expensive. Truck was a beast for a daily driver and got 25 mpg no matter how I drove it. Miss that thing.

@@wht240sxka True Dodge guy's know what you are saying when talk about something. I guess that's why you don't own a Dodge anymore. Your 25 mpg must have been a 2 wheel drive truck and the sled puller must have been something else, as a sled puller does not get that kind of mileage.

@@turbolabamerica l love to see how bigger you can go on the fk8 factory housing for both turbine and compressor. My set up maxes out @ 430whp on the factory turbocharger.
