- Electric vehicles are a relatively new way to travel in resorts and cities, but what about using electric vehicles in Türkiye? E scooters are everywhere in resorts but as a holiday maker how do you rent one, I'll give you the info to get you moving and clarify the rules here in Turkey.

These scooters are a pain and I’ve seen tourists drunk driving on them, thank you Mick and Trudy for sharing your videos
Mick amca maşallah çok enerjiksin
in big cities, especially in central areas, scooters are really a pain for pedestrians. because sidewalks are already really narrow and these scooters occupy a large amount of space which is a problem in my opinion.
In Istanbul, you mean. In Ankara, there are not that much scooters. Maybe in Kızılay, but usually they are put there by the company, not the people. As a result of that, they are waiting their customers in a straight order. They don't block the sidewalk here. Another reason, in Ankara there is usually a bus route from where you are to where you want to go. Using the bus is waaay more cheaper than scooters, so it's not that popular here. But in Istanbul, they are extremely convenient. This makes them popular, and because of that, there are too many scooter companies there. We have only Hop, Beam, Link and Martı in Ankara.
In turkey even the plice ride their motorcycles on the cycle path. It's a shame all the trafficking police do is checkpoints. No one gets stopped for speeding hitting pedestrians running red lights etc. I don't know if they cops are just lazy or don't give a damn or both. The checkpoints are a way for them to get bribes from people who don't have licenses
Love your videos Mick amca, best wishes to both of you 😉

Hi Mick and Trudie, always a pleasure seeing you guys uploading handy videos in Fethiye. I love Turkey and especially Fethiye. I want to travel to Fethiye with my electric car. Do you have any advice concering charging and fast charging?

The rules seem clear and reasonable enough.
We have just been walking the excellent kordon of Izmir today, and on the blue lane there was a very mixed traffic of these vehicles. So, the rules are not really followed.
The problem being a tourist in Turkey and not having a Turkish SIM card, is the lack of access to mobile data. There are some limited options for us as foreign Vodafone users, but that amounts to 7,05 euro per day and gives only 100 MB of data roaming.
But, as being pensionists, we are not born with a mobile phone in the hand, and many things can luckily be sorted out in the hotel room using wi-fi.
I love your videos.
Regards from Izmir !!!
My Vodafone worldwide contract works ok
@@mickandtrudie Mine is some Greek hybride cheapo version, and obviously not good enough. But we manage fine with planning things beforehand using the hotel wi-fi.
It is just healthy not to take everything for granted.
Very politically correct comments. Fair play for talking to the local feds about the rules but let’s face it….
These scooters are like wasps! There is zero regard for traffic lights, pedestrian zones and pavements.
One of the main areas of concern is the total and blatant ignorance of one way streets. Delivery scooters and battery vehicles pay no attention to this. I have also been “winged” several times just walking on the pavement by aggressive delivery scooters going like the clappers to avoid using the roads. The police are nowhere to be seen.
Bottom line - if you want to rent these types of transport, then you do so at huge personal risk of injury and your recourse in the event of accident is negligible.
Driving and traffic laws in Turkey are somewhat clandestine and poorly regulated.
So beware!
tebrikler
It’s about time then they start fining people using these scooters on the paths and marina especially in Marmaris there’s too many idiots on them usually 3 at a time and the amount of people who have crashed into others is ridiculous.
Dear mick, if someone disturb you And YOUR Wi-Fi, sorry for all taht. We are Living hard life our people are not patient, we are living hard geograpy. We love you.
