I didn't know either, but I did know it didn't sound like a Beatles song. So I assumed he meant it's by one of the Beatles. It also didn't sound like a solo John Lennon song. So I went to Paul McCartney on UA-cam and I think it's 'Maybe I'm Amazed'.

I play it with fingers 2 3 and 4. Fit better than 1 2 and 3. Don't like the finger tucked in the middle way. Experimented with it from time to time. Feels too weird for me, been playing with the back three for almost 50 years. Back three for songs that have sus 2 and sus 4. Rock way for songs more suitable -R and 5 or R,5 and 3rd

I learned to try that way with "Back in Black" power chord playing from A to B...still tougher for me, but useful for practicing versatility

    Really like the chord progression you showed: A - Am7 - A7.
    How to continue this? :)

I use 2 and 3 a lot for the same reasons you do but I’ll also barre (5th fret) with my thumb centered behind the neck so I can do those cool Yes progressions such as the intro to “It Can Happen”. 😎🎸

I thought I was strange and unique for playing what I call a D chord shaped A, so glad to see someone better skilled claiming it👍

My fingers don't fit playing it the "normal" way so I have to play it as a barre.
