One thing I love to use the Ice Staff for is to combine it with a Torch, Fire Staff or such, to harvest many, MANY non-killer bees. Normally attacking their hives, or catching them converts the whole colony as killer bees. But if set on fire, all bees goes out yellow, passive and freak around. That leaves plenty time to catch all bees, extinguish their hives to not burn the honeycomb then loot it without swarm. That can be done any time which is useful especially when they are home and you need to make many bee box in a record time.

you didn't mention the most important late game use in my opinion, which is getting mobs back where they belong, like geckos into the grass pen. when a mob is frozen, you can push it around where you want it and it wont run away/attack like normal
my second favorite use, though you already mentioned this, is to freeze one of the bishops at the complete pseudoscience station. you need 2 football helmets and still lots of healing afterwards if you just fight them both at once, because bishops are the one mob you can't kite

I’m not experienced enough to mess with the ruins yet, but clockworks (or at least bishops and knights since I haven’t worked up the nerve to try it on rooks yet) on the surface panic when they burn and that usually allows me to take them out without much trouble unless there are two of them.
Ice staves are fun but the most underrated staff out there has to be the Telelocator staff. Providing you have a good supply of purple gems it’s a way for you to instantly teleport you between 2 locations that are usually a bother to go to (the monkey island) just make sure to stand in the focus you don’t wanna go to, can also relocate big creatures like bosses and causes rain if used often
When we're talking fire supression, waterballoons (very underrated item IMO) are one of the best tools to use due to giving you range and unlike icestaff it has AOE. They can also cool you down in summer if you have no other choice. That being said, ice staff is super versatile and I don't think it's used as rarely as, say firestaff for example. The only thing I can see people use it for is crystal deerclops bossfight when it comes to practicality. If you're playing wendy or wes, ice staff is the only way for you to kill birds since boomerang won't do it due to 25% less damage they deal. When it comes to catching birds, it's very quick to use ice staff compared to just waiting, plus like you said, if you're after a specific bird it's really useful to have an ice staff. Many things you pointed out like aggroing mobs and freezing ranged mobs like mac tusk and/or bishop I can agree being useful. Ice staff is just overall very versatile like I said and it's not that hard to obtain either. Anyway, nice video, keep it up!

The way I fight mc Tusk is just running at him before he aggro me. He won't attack if I am too close. So I make him go to the max range of his house to trigger his "walking back home with no care in the world state" to kill him easily. The hounds will prefer staying with Wee but you're running so they can't hit you. You can take care of them once mc Tusk change his state, you have few seconds.
A notable use for the Ice Staff is the one time one person in a DST world I was in who used it to freeze Toadstool to cheese him... (Also Ice Staffs make Crab King infinitely easier)

First thing: go watch animated short "film, film, film". No need for subtitles , or knowledge of russian , it is universal. Second: The Soviet Sherlock Holmes(choice of the queen) and "my dearly beloved detective"(beutifull spin on Sherlock Holmes story , touching comedy , and hillarious detective storry) Third:"A Man from the Boulevard des Capucines" , increadible western , heartwarming comedy , and a film that has a lot to say. Forth: any and all Gaidai movies. He is an amaising soviet director , amazing. Fifth:watch with subtitles if you can. All this movies , qlong with many others are worth a watch. But , besides teritories of soviet union , no one knows about them. But they can ve trully beutifull. I recomend starting from number 1 , then 3rd number , after that go back to the seccond one , and watxh a bit of The , and then all of My beloved , after which , have a bit of time to let it sink in , and watch something from number 4 , while staying true to number 5 . funny enough i knew about fires but not about smouldering(though it makes sense that it could)
Idk I'd rather save my blues for almost anything else, aside from maybe a chilling amulet

Walter ice rounds are twice as efficient for freezing so those are also pretty cool too

It would be cool if the ice staff could freeze water (so you could could walk across rivers instead of around them)
