Great video 🙏🏼
How do you get into cracks? I have a very old table I'm about to do and I can't figure out how to deal with the a large crack? I think it will look odd if it has the old stain/varnish still in the crack when I refurbish it. Not the kind of furniture you do, I know, but I assume this happens on chairs and stuff too?
Wire brushes do well at getting into cracks. If you spray on the stripper that can help it get in and loosen things up. Many cracks are narrow enough that they may not effect your new finish depending on what it is.
@@createwithcraftsman Thank you!
Will the stripper eat through certain kinds of gloves? What kind of gloves do you recommend for applying the stripper?
We recommend using nitrile gloves! We do not recommend using latex or vinyl gloves.
There is a glove we really like called a thickster that performs great and can be re-used several times.
The background music volume was much better on this video. It added to rather that detracting from the video.
Thank you! Please continue giving us feedback as you see fit!
Is the stripping material going to damage the foam on a chair? Should I always finish the wood before I upholster the chair?
It's a good idea to remove any fabric and foam from the chair before using the stripper on it. Alvin says he was planning on replacing the dacron(the white fluffy material on the seat) anyways so he kept it on to protect the foam.
