We didn't do a reaction for the first 2 episodes because we saw it at the Hawkeye launch event and decided to make this a spoiler review instead. We'll be back to our usual reaction format for episode 3 so make sure you check back next Wednesday!
I think one of my favorite aspects was how they established her connection to Hawkeye. And honestly, I really like that. It wasn't Cap, or Iron Man, or Hulk...or the God of Thunder...it was a guy with a bow, taking out technologically superior alien soldiers with nothing but skill and pure badassery. It was the guy that saved her life without even realizing it. . "I need a bow and arrow."
The musical "Rogers" showed the Battle of New York just like "Hamilton" showed the Battle of Yorktown. I believe they used "Hamilton" as a template for designing the font/poster for "Rogers".
These two episodes remind me a LOT of the Marvel Television productions set in the MCU; Kate’s Avengers fangirl personality is very much Season 1 Daisy Johnson/Skye from Agents of SHIELD, the street-level, New York City setting is OBVIOUSLY The Defenders, and a bickering partnership reminds me of the Helstrom siblings. I’m very happy with this show so far.
Buying a "how to be a stepdad" book is NEVER the right thing. That was the point Kate's response was making. He spent money to seek out an artificial shortcut to bonding rather than getting to know her.
I think Jack is not the main villain, because it's too much on the nose that HE IS THE VILLAIN! I think is the mom! Kate's mom is the real villian at the end. In the comics Kate's dad is a villain soo..... that's what I think.
I really enjoyed the first 2 episodes. The mom really reminded me of Carrie-Anne Moss in Jessica Jones; so much so that I thought it was her at first, playing the same character. Hailey did a fantastic job. I loved how Clint couldn't help himself from treating her like one of his own kids, particularly in the scene where he's treating her wounds.
I’ve always wondered how Kate got the ronin costume since the first trailer and her stealing it from an auction is so unexpected, love the show excited for the 3rd ep
My first thought is that Kate’s father; Derek Bishop is still alive as we never see his death onscreen nor his dead body. The Bishops were facing financial difficulties at the start of this Pilot Episode and might need to sell their penthouse in order to keep afloat. During the 2012 Chitauri invasion, Derek faked his own death so that his wife would then claimed his life insurance money. The online rumor is that Eleanor Bishop is the Marvel comics version of Madame Masque. Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin shall appear by the end of this Season 1 as Echo’s adopted father @ Uncle. The wristwatch that the Tracksuit Mafia were searching for originally belonged to the late Anthony Edward Stark. Just like the blue-tinted glasses which Tony wore during “Avengers: Infinity War” nicknamed EDITH. It was later inherited by Peter Parker in “Spider-Man: Far From Home”. EDITH was able to command hundreds of Stark Industries drones and satellites. The timepiece was lost under the Avengers Compound rubble when Thanos’ Army bombed it toward the end of “Avengers: Endgame” and possibly contained Iron Man technology. Jack did not seemed surprised at all when the Tracksuit Mafia raided the underground auction. Like he knew it was going to happen. In fact, he took the opportunity to pocket the much coveted Ronin retractable sword during the commotion. Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova shall appear in the second half of this Season 1. As per “Black Widow” post-credit scene, she is assigned by her handler: Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine @ Val to exact revenge for Natasha Romanoff’s death. Yelena is handed a tablet showing an image of Clinton Francis Barton in his full Ronin gear without his mask. It means that Yelena and Val are aware that Hawkeye and Ronin is actually the same person. Whereas in Episode 1, the black market auctioneer made it obvious that the general public is not aware of this. Yelena is being manipulated to assassinate Clint as details of what transpired on Vormir is only known to the Avengers. Maya Lopez @ Echo played by Alaqua Cox will be getting her own spinoff show after this.
I imagine the Avengers number from Rogers The Musical was in the half way point(when Clint said they left) and the beginning of the play started with just Steve and Bucky and ended with Steve and Sam on that bench at the end of Endgame. So Rogers The Musical fits.
Who turned on the news and didn't react in 2012..? Kate was the only one we saw at that point.... And she was definitely reacting to it. The auction wasn't items from Avengers Tower, it was from Avengers COMPOUND in upstate new york, from the rubble after the attack from Thanos. Grills (the sticky fingered firefighter) is from the Matt Fraction comics. Jack was wielding left handed, but not using left handed moves. Jack wouldn't have inherited anything from his uncle, there were 7 people directly ahead of Jack at least .. He was definitely talking about Eleanor.
Hi Guys. Just watched episodes 1 & 2 here in Scotland. Such a fun couple of hours. Already looking forward to next Wednesday. The onscreen chemistry between Kate and Clint is great. Stay safe and well, guys. Regards from Scotland. 😊🏴
I do wonder how much they wrote, or at least planned, for the rest of Rogers. We see Clint nope out during, or after, the Chitauri invasion then the kids say they only got half way through. Would it start with him as a youth, loosely following his arc in the movies? That show raises so many questions I suspect will never be answered - at least officially.
The comment that a lot of the LARPers are NYPD and NYFD may also come into play later if they need help later on. Wendys Sweater is cute for the holiday theme.
For those who have watched Arrow, the stepdad reminded me slightly of John Barrowman in the first season, despite not being the stepdad. There has to be a similar character twist there
The ronin stuff, the watch and other avenger stuff was stolen from the destroyed avenger compound from Endgame since Hawkeye wasn't ronin in the first avengers movie when the tower was damaged.
I absolutely loved the first too episode. Also Kate is absolutely gorgeous! I’m a simp for her like the entire woman population simps for Sebastian Stan

@@rogerroger5171 The song they performed is on Spotify 😂. For any Rent heads out there, Adam Pascal sings in it too!
awesome that you got to see it and I'm glad you are honest about not reacting when you already saw it.
The LARP scene was hysterical

I love your sweatshirt Wendy ! 💜 You look amazing as always
Thank you for doing a review rather than a 'reaction' (seriously bugs me when folx do that without openly marking it as a rewatch.)
The first 2 episodes were fantastic! Kate Bishop is already a top 10 MCU character for me 😅
Buying a "how to be a stepdad" book is NEVER the right thing. That was the point Kate's response was making. He spent money to seek out an artificial shortcut to bonding rather than getting to know her.

Dustin has a theory that Kate’s dad might not really be dead…

If they are bringing the Netflix characters back into the MCU, I hope Carrie-Anne comes with them. She was so good in those shows.

Am I the only one who IMMEDIATELY thought the "medieval scene" was from "Loki"?? Am I crazy?? 😅
I looove your sweater Wendy! 💜🤍🖤 Looks sooo awesome 😍🥰
Thank you!
Wendy, I love your sweater! Where did you get it? ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! I received it in a package from Marvel/Disney+. I'm not sure if they're selling this on ShopDisney or Marvel online store?
LOVING Wendy's sweater!!!
Wendy... I loooooooooove your sweater.
Looking forward to catching this in a bit.
Yay!
It's so fun to hear her voice from Arcane too.

I would not mind one bit if they give us a taste of the other songs from the musical throughout the rest of the series 😍
@@TheMovieCouple or perhaps a special release - like Hamilton - of the full show.
C'mon, Disney. You know you want to.
I think there something fishy with the mom. She disappeared when her dad died. I think jack is not villain

Not Avengers Tower. Avengers Compound. Great stuff as always, though.

I want it to turn out the mom is an even worse bad guy....
hailee steinfeld can do no wrong!!! PULLING THAT SWEATER OFF WONDER WENDY!!!
Jacques Duquesne....sometimes villain...sometimes hero.... all times mustachioed weirdo. XD
the rogers musical was annoying as hell and the looks on my face matched clint's very annoyed
hahaha
What if
