Thank you so much for this video, I wish this could have popped up earlier in my search. My sensor turned out to be full of crud due to a torn rubber boot.
04 to 07 Honda 400 fa...service manual...google Page # 24/4 to 14. Remember your shift sensor needs to (like he said) rotated CC wise to 11 o'clock then ingage the shaft ,spin it CW to 9 o'clock...SEE if it is sping loaded and wants to spinback CCwise...nothing will work until thats done....thanks for the video rrr
Old video I know, but it seems weird there is a "R" stamped where you have the Nuetral position sensor. Is that coincidental or is are they in the wrong positions?
I have the save 4 wheeler and I think the same problem, except the boot that goes on my D is rusted or cut almost all the way through. How would you go about replacing the little boot and where can you buy it? Thanks
I just used little alligator clips and connected each the right way just have to remove the rubber boots and little metal pice around each brass pice to out clips on no problems since them and put sum electric greas on there to to help with mud waters and stuff
I am having the exact same problem with mine, changed angle sensor same problem, where can I find the shift sensor your talking about, do you have a part number?
If you watch the video those tiny things that look like mini spark plugs are the sensors, I just unscrewed it to remove it and took the part in to order a new one
Great diagnostic tutorial video for the rancher at 400 thanks!

Going through the exact same thing as the video this man has saved the quad because I was about to light it on fire
$130 for shift sensor omg mine was $13 from the China
You have to reset the computer I will send video when I get home because you fixed nothing here bro!
Changing the shift position sensor did fix the issue, it was NOT a reset on the computer.
