In 1955, Lemmon made his film debut in "It Should Happen to You," instantly charming audiences with his affable demeanor and impeccable comedic timing. However, it was his collaboration with director Billy Wilder that elevated him to stardom. Their first project together, "Some Like It Hot" (1959), showcased Lemmon's versatility as he seamlessly transitioned from comedy to drama, earning him his first Academy Award nomination.
Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Lemmon continued to captivate audiences with his memorable performances in films such as "The Apartment" (1960), "The Odd Couple" (1968), and "The China Syndrome" (1979).
Despite his success in comedy, Lemmon also proved his dramatic prowess with roles in films like "Days of Wine and Roses" (1962) and "Save the Tiger" (1973), the latter earning him his first Academy Award for Best Actor. His commitment to his craft and his ability to portray a wide range of emotions endeared him to audiences and critics alike. In the later years of his career, Lemmon continued to deliver standout performances in films such as "Glengarry Glen Ross" (1992) and "Grumpy Old Men" (1993), showcasing his enduring talent and charm.
Jack Lemmon's contributions to film and theater are immeasurable, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations of actors. His ability to evoke laughter, tears, and everything in between solidifies his place as one of the greatest actors of his generation. Lemmon passed away on June 27, 2001, but his iconic performances will continue to entertain and resonate with audiences for years to come.

Jack Lemmon's movies all outstanding, I remember seeing the movie DAD with Ted Danson as his son and Olympia Dukakas as his wife. Touching beautiful movie about getting old accepting the changes that come with it and the love that evolved between father and son. Exceptional ❤

Jack sure played a great Felix Unger in The Odd Couple and Matthau pulled it off real good as Oscar.

I totally agree - China Syndrome had a virtually psychic script which was all too terribly credible and proved to have incredible timing.
