His brother George (Detective Stavros) died in 1985 and Telly never got over that. George was just 57. Kojak wouldn't have been what it was without the two brothers.

Thanks for posting this. I don't think I will ever get to see his memorial in person because I live in the UK. But loved him in anything he appeared in. Kojak was top viewing in our house because Dad was a fan. Kojak loved his lollipops and we could buy them at our local sweet shop (candy store). Plus he had his catchphrases.

He was a great tipper to waitresses.A friend’s mother served him a coffee in the early 70’s at the Person airport in Toronto-he gave her a $50 bill and told her to keep the change.She was astonished to say the least.
