I'm Trying New Stuff Again... Non-Linear Weathering On The BMR-3M

  • My friends, tonight we're trying a completely different approach to weathering. Last week's post-shading and pre-dusting gave us a very good foundation for what's coming up next. We're going to use lots of well known techniques, but we'll switch their order so the whole workflow will be smoother and more enjoyable!

Disclaimer: Most of the weathering products I use in my videos such as Ammo by Mig Jimenez, AK-Interactive, Wilder and VMS were sent to me for free, but with no obligations to promote them. I received a lot of them a long time ago, even before I started this channel. VMS is also one of my Patreon supporters. Being independent from big and exclusive sponsorship deals and showing you a wide variety of different brands and products was one of the founding ideas of this channel and I will always stand by this.

Oh yes, that would also make a lot of nice workwith smoke and perhaps even led light lightning and electricity in the smoke of expanding explosion?
Or after explosion, ton of dirt and dust over the model.

Congrats.. you finally put a title to the way i have painted for 20 years! Thanks for that..! :) I despise the Step by Step, paint by numbers methodology that a lot of modelers cling to and always find myself switching back and forth between mediums and painting things "out of order" for the sake of speed and creativity. I love this video and found a lot of inspiration in it! Keep up the good work.

The tried and tested method is a great way to understand techniques, how everything works together and how not to skip important steps, but yeah, it's just so time consuming... why keep doing it like that when it can be done faster with similar results :)

I’m currently working on my second model. A Snap Tite A-10 Warthog. No painting, just stickers. It’s a level 2. Going for a level 3 model next. So I should have my supplies by then. As usual you do amazing work. As I am watching the model turn on the display base, I couldn't help but notice the aluminum chipping, it stands out and looks out of place (too fresh). I am thinking you are going to give it more depth by varying the Aluminum chipping with different tones of grey and texture, after all aluminum does corrode and gets darker over time and at some point will no longer corrode below the exposed surface. Aluminum corrodes to protect itself from exposure (sounds like aluminum has intelligence) lol.
