I wish if there is a Quick overview video about "multicolor ambient lighting" is available. If you could please have a video for Audi Q5 2018 Premium Plus "Ambient lighting", that would be great... I am not sure if "multicolor ambient lighting" is at all available in USA and for premium plus trim line.

Does this or any of the Q5s or option packs give you that interior lighting or ambiant lighting I've seen in BMW? If so which models and what's it called as a feature so I can make sure I get it

I love your narration, direct and relaxed. A question, what do you think of the crease going the length of the car? Looks too obtrusive to me. And when will they get rid of the gas cap? Please!

Good job on the review. You should have mentioned the SD card slots in the glove box. I happened to notice them. Many people like myself prefer to put music on an SD card.

After doing a quick search on Cars.com, it looks like there are plenty of Prestige models for sale (they're just less common than the Premium Plus/Premium). I'm not sure how long it would take if you ordered one, but I'm sure your local Audi dealer could definitely give you an estimate. Thanks for the comment!
Car Confections actually I did ... but dealers r super interested in making me buy premium plus instead of prestige .... whenever I ask do u have prestige ..... they say y u want prestige ... buy premium plus .... buy I know prestige is loaded with tech which premium plus lacks .... if I add those as options ... price goes up close to prestige model ... so why not buy prestige ... isn't it ??? but they r hell bent on selling a premium plus to me
Thank you for the review. I am in the market to buy either the Q5 or Q7, and I've test drived both. The interior of the Q7 is god awesome and so is the drive and handling, but the price is a big jump. The drive of the Q5 was also outstanding but doesn't have the really cool extended vent going all the way through the passenger side like the new Q7 and A4 does. Did the prestige Q5 in this video have LED lighting on the inside that you can see at night? Or is this mainly only a feature in the Q7?

I recently totally crashed my 2014 Q7 with 120k miles I’ve been using many different Audi cars since 1991. So it came time to replace the car figured I’d go for a XQ 60 infinity but no thrill had to return it after six weeks took a hit$’s got myself a slightly used Q5 2018 premium so no sunroof or front camera! I’m so thrilled I traded the infinity for this Audi of all the Audi’s I’ve owned this takes the cake! Thanks for the preview I’ve subscribed too!

Car Confections - good video, thanks. Did the Prestige 2.0T Quattro you tested come with adaptive cruise control (ACC)? Is ACC actually available on the 2018 Q5? On the Audi USA site - when I "build" a 2018 Q5 Prestige - ACC is not even listed as being available. :( Also.. is "S-line" not available on the new Q5?

+Richard B Hi Richard! The Prestige we tested did not have adaptive cruise or any of the other Driver Assistance package items. That package doesn't appear to be offered yet, but I am sure they will add it soon since it is available in Europe now. Same goes for the S-line package. Hopefully we will get the MMI video up soon! 1. Rumor why hey didn't put the exhaust tips . Customers were complaint exhaust in time would turn black over the chrome.
2. In the Previous generation Q5 ventilated seats were an option if equipped with *Prestige *Luxury package

The audi q5 new look is ok. The hidden tailpipe is honda Acura rdx. I upgraded to audi from honda accord 3.0 v6 because honda stop making v6 for there sedan and coupe. I was lucky to find 2015 audi q5 with the supercharged 3.0 v6 premium plus S line . I think the audi shouldn't have made the same mistakes that honda. The refreshed is ok. OK may be good enough. show the me the pipes or the chrome .

Question about the steering wheel: In other videos, I've seen the steering wheel with a flat bottom area so as to not interfere with the driver's knees (?). However, on other videos including yours, of this same model (both SQ and Q), the steering wheel is completely round.
Can you comment. is this part of a package that is an option?

Hi Patrick! The steering wheel is round on all Q5's (regardless of trim) and for the SQ5 it can be either round or flat bottom. The flat bottom wheel is the standard wheel on the SQ5, but if you option the Cold Weather Package (adds heated steering wheel) it becomes round again. Hope that helps!

so what's the major difference between premium and premium plus? Are there any difference in material quality?
There are a few differences (shown throughout the entire length of the video), but the main benefits include standard panoramic moonroof, heated seats, and advanced keyless entry. Premium Plus also allows for you to add more premium options like the 20 inch wheels shown in the video. In regards to materials there is no difference between Premium and Premium Plus; you have to go to Prestige before you get leatherette trim on the panels. Sorry for any confusion, my brother thought you were asking about Premium Plus and Prestige at first. Hope this clears things up!

+True_Savage ME You only need a subscription if you want to use Google Earth maps (for Audi Connect which includes other stuff as well). The regular default map is subscription-free though.

Why the fake exhausts? I don't get it. The Q5 is on my short list, but I just can't get my mind past the fake exhausts.

It is made in Mexico! Do we want it especially for a premium price? I don't. Make it in the USA or bring from Germany.
I've tried, but I cannot get used to the media display sticking up out of the dash. It cheapens the whole package. Unfortunately, every German car maker is doing this.

I just bought 2018 audi q5 prestige. 2 clicking noise from somewhere gas pedal, even I can feel the clicking. and the heating seat on the driver side is not so hot..

A very nice car indeed! I could care less about the fake exhaust tips, but the non adaptive cruise control at release is baffling at this price. Its not like the new a4 doesnt have it! Come on audi what gives?
I've been looking at the Q5 because of the towing capacity. I currently drive a Subaru Crosstrek and even it has adaptive cruise control. When I test drove the Q5, I was told adaptive cc was only available as an option with the Prestige level. But dealers aren't getting Prestige trims on the lot. Would be nice to drive one.
The Q5 now offers adaptive cruise control as an option.

True.......The Volvo's interior is superior to the Audi's in creature comforts but, you have to admit the technology end of this new Audi is more on the user end friendly to the driver, and I'd shutter to think what I'd pay to repair that supercharged and turbocharged 4 cylinder engine

But, honestly, it doesn't bother me in the least. The bottom line is how the car performs vs. it's competitors.

2015 q5 3.0t premium plus is the masterpiece , and more. The 2018 look cheap starting with fake exhausted what happened to the fog light.
Overpriced, almost $50,000 just to get navigation.

Have you seen the new one? The interior is actually nicer looking. CX-5 lacks power though.
Maybe as far as value is concerned. But even with the upgraded interior the new CX-5 doesn't come close. That said, I'm still considering the Mazda because it's a lot more affordable.
Trust me, I'm an Audi guy and own a 2012 A5. I wouldn't say something like that lightly. I actually just test drove the new Q5 and was left unimpressed. Just had a sterile and boring feel to it, but I guess that's what people want in a crossover.
I like Audi, but new generation of A5, Q5, Q7 are so fucking boring... It's pretty much the same exterior as previous generation.
The 2018 Volvo XC60 looks better than this... may not have a better engine, but the interior and exterior (especially) are more superior.
I prefer the Audi interior, which IMO looks more sophisticated, and less foofy.
I also prefer the virtual dash.
As for the engines, it will be interesting how the two vehicles compare with their choices.
Reliability-wise, the Audi is far better.
I agree with you. Plus the fake exhaust on the Audi is just cheap! And trust me i like Audi a lot...usually...
I currently have a 2015 XC60 and it's been great! I've also had Audi's previously which were great too. But this fake exhaust is just to cheap looking for me. So I'll buy new XC60 over Q5 as interior and other qualities of current Volvo are receiving excellent reviews.
The Audi Virtual Cockpit single handedly is better than any technology feature in the Volvo, thus Audi wins this battle and i'm going to buy one.
