I just finished watching it and I'm crying. This is very moving and really shows what it not only looks like but what it FEELS like to have an adult child with serious mental illness. My son has schizophrenia. Lately, he's been saying things like he's a loser and that we never should have had kids because of how he is. This completely breaks my heart! 💔 He's been sick, well, diagnosed since 2013.
Three goddesses here…and a handsome young-talented, brilliant, handsome-god in the making. Can’t wait to read your memoirs….can’t wait to see your film…..Life-savers, all four of you.🌻💙🌻💙🌻💙🌻🌻💙🌻💙🌻💙🌻💙🌻💙🌻💙🌻💙🌻
It mentioned during the pod cast that older generations tend to keep family affairs close to the chest and behind closed doors. So true this is. I grew up with a mentally ill mother who my grandmother lead myself and my brothers to believe was all a choice and caused by drugs. When my daughter became ill I called on any remaining family about mental illness in our family. It was discovered that my mom had a diagnosis of schizophrenia when she was 22 and that there was a long line of other members with some forms of mental illness. Now, I realize my daughter would have schizophrenia regardless of my understanding but maybe we could have recognized early signs if we were educated. I understand my grandmothers decisions though. She was a young widowed mother of 3 in the 70s with only a middle school education.
Bless you guys 🙏

How you were able to capture the depth of emotions from this illness is truly remarkable.
