im schizo affective and had my first psychosis at age 16, i am 33 now and around 5 years out of psychiatry and in a social home with 3 other patients. i still experience psychotic episodes but manage them better as in the past. ive had drug induced psychosis with cannabis several times, one where i attempted suicide by jumping off a building wich i luckily survived, another one where i ended up 3 days in an isolation cell by smoking a joint wich triggered it. when my sister came to visit me in the secured section she told me if you smoke weed again i will never talk to you again, that has kept me off for around 8 years now. i still miss it when i think of listening to music riding my bike in nature stoned. but i need to remember the hell in psychosis it gave. thank you for spreading awareness, much respect
I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have found your podcast. I can relate to everything on this topic. I have a 35 year old daughter and have dealt with this exact issue with her for the past 8 years
In Canada there are more cannabis stores than grocery stores in some neighborhoods It’s practically celebrated up here ER visits are up and first episode of psychosis are up and the THC concentration is sky high compared the past … It’s causal for a lot of people and it has been ruinous for many That’s all I can say ..
I happened to watch a video Dr.Hoffman - niacin. The doctor treated a schizophrenia patients with naicin. I'd appreciate it if you could cover a case of treating schizophrenia with naicin and related stories. Thanks!
@@jinkim6424 we are planning a show on keto and can possibly add that to the agenda. There are many dietary claims out there and I’m sure some work for some. Sadly, this is not a one size fits all type of illness, we will explore this tho. Thanks
