@@TheBlarggle just because he has money doesn’t mean he doesn’t have emotions. You can be poor and happy or rich and sad. Money doesn’t make mental illnesses go away. You have likely never met the dude and have no idea what his personal life is like. Also, from what it sounds like, working at SNL is a pretty stressful job, even if it pays well. Literally anyone can have a good or bad day, regardless of their wealth, job, social status, etc.

Pete has said he is staying at SNL until Lorne fires him and Lorne seriously loves him so I don't think that's happened. I think he was just genuinely thanking people for giving him the opportunity to be on SNL & I think he will stay on the show until Lorne retires in a few years.

I've always thought Pete was funny and adorable, but I think he's getting funnier with age. The 'awkward' is still there, but he's learned how to negotiate it more smoothly/confidently. Learning to 'own' your weird takes years...I'm excited to see what he does as time goes on.

I honestly never expected Pete to become as genuinely talented as he has when I saw his first sketch. Even the first couple seasons he was there it seemed like, while is update pieces were fucking gold, his role there was destined to be more one-note without any real character work but over the last two season in particular he’s become so versatile and it’s crazy but he’s also become a real pinch hitter, like you know most of the time if he’s in a sketch it’s going to be good.
I’m honestly really proud. He’s had to deal with so much not just in his life but over the course of his SNL career and I can’t think of someone who deserves success more.
I'm going to have to disagree. He sucks.
I was just watching or listening to something recently and PD was saying that when he first auditioned for the show, and then got the gig Lorne said to him that he was quite sure what to do with him but he wanted Pete to work on the show. Think it was like growing pain and finding a niche for him to build up his confidence on the camera. His specific dark humor is hard to translate into characters that become loves
