Plains should be a refreshing change after the gloomy Swamps and blizzardy Mountains. Looking forward to all the new stuff you can find 😉
This reminded me of the times when I tried to fight Moder in the silver/wolf armor. Pain in the nether regions stamina and speed-wise and 1-2 deaths almost guaranteed. Lately I do it only in pure Root armor - easy and quick movement, much better stamina management, together with Bonemass power - enough defence to fight her with a silver sword on the ground (where she often gets stuck in the landscape), and a considerable bonus to the bow skills for shooting her during flight. Easy and quick fight unless you happen to have a golem spawning site nearby. Imo Moder is one of the easiest bosses in Valheim, probably the second easiest after the lightning deer. The only really deadly attacks are her multiple ice blasts - you got the full blast in the face at the very beginning of the battle. Once you avoid those, all her other attacks can be easily countered or tanked. Also, no, she is not spawning anything, it was just a normal night life going on in the Mountains (that you never tried before). You just made it all considerably more difficult for yourself 1) by moving around so much, that induced a lot more spawns and 2) not using Bonemass power when it would have really helped. It was genuinely surprising that you survived all that, and that "that" was mostly results of your own decisions before and during the battle. The "hunted" event was a nice icing on the cake though. The game likes jokes.
I don't even know what to say about that Moder battle. My mind is blown. 🤯 Congrats! (Moder is a lady by the way) 😅

With the chaos of the boss battle going on I wasn’t paying much attention to the mobs. I just noticed that the dragon growled one time which looked like a summon because a swarm of enemies immediately appeared over the ridge near it. Just good timing I suppose. Hey, it was a fun fight and worth the effort.
I like new toys. Something tells me there will be some juicy unlocks in plains.
You forgot you need to hang up Moder's head at the Sacrificial Stones to unlock her power! 😉 If you want a spare head for the base you need to kill her again!

That was EPIC!!!...this video has it all...epic boss fight, a hunt event, 2 fenrings, a golem, 6+ drakes, miscellaneous wolves and the crappiest rng ever. To misquote one of my favourite films..."never get out of the hole". I must admit you did a lot better than me the first time I battled Moder. It took me 5 tries, I went through 2 bows and at least 4 stacks of arrows. It took me 2 days to kill her.
Cheers! It was a fun fight in the end, suitable climactic and worth the wait. That moment inside the dugout where I realise I screwed up and my shelter is about to become rubble… 🤣
Man, I was ready to do the fight over if needed but I reeeeeally didn’t want to lose the momentum, I’d already sunk so much resources and time into it.

Great fight with Moder (yes it means Mother) . . . you face tanked her full barrage, six blasts I think, at the start which is fatal. But managed to avoid further death!
You were correct . . . using your bonemass ability would have really helped with the wolves and fenrings. But it doesn't help against Moder and the Drakes cold blasts.
She doesn't actually summon anything . . . those were all just natural Mountain spawns . . . it got crazy after nightfall. But it was worth it to not let Moder heal all night long. All monsters and bosses heal at a consistent rate, it doesn't matter if you are close by or not.
Melee and Shield works really well once she lands . . . you can block her breath attack (and melee attacks I don't think you ever saw).

Yeah, I wasn’t keen on letting her heal for too long while I recovered and dealt with the mobs, although there was a point that I was pretty certain I was a goner. 😂
I died pretty much the same way to moder at my first time. It is as you figured, if you take 3 or more hits from his nukes you ll die, otherwise you can tank 1-2 hits from any of his attacks. epic fight though!
p.s. I also watched alot of your stalker content as I was binging apokalype myself a few years ago, I love how you started almost every episode in this lets play with the russian-ish acent, which doesn't really make sense here but is a nice touch for me
Man, that initial attack clipping through the stone wall is not something I was prepared for 😳
