I used to ride those roads regularly a few years back. Just followed my nose and made random turns, I know the area well I'm from Stockton. I tend to do Thirsk, Helmsley Pickering, Whitby, Saltburn with a couple of mates now but a hand injury has seen me off the bike for a while! There's loads of it local. A bit longer than 20 miles but where you turned right to go to Kirk Lev', carry on to the main road, do a left to Scorton, as you head out of Scorton do a left at the garage to Northallerton (or carry on through Brompton to Richmond) and make your own mind up for the return. Shiny side up👍👍
Hello 👋 Thank you very much for your comment and route suggestion. They are brilliant roads 😊 It’s great to have them so close to home. Ohh no, what have you done to your hand? Hopefully you are back on the bike soon! I did a similar route to that a few videos ago but the way you have suggested seems to make more sense. There are some great roads that way. I went to school and sixth form in Richmond and I grew up near Scorton, so I know the area relatively well. Where are you based if you don’t mind me asking?
Good thing you asked where we're from, as I wouldn't know any route to Ingleby Barwick (I had to Google where that is, LOL!). I've said it before, beautiful roads and scenery where you are. You can guess where I'm from by looking at my name: I'm from Montreal (Canada), which is a city on an island with the same name in the St. Lawrence River (from the French name: fleuve Saint-Laurent).
Hello 👋 I am very lucky to have routes like this on my door step 😊 Fantastic scenery! That’s great! I did make a guess with the name yes 😊 Do you have any nice local rides you like doing? I presume very different to the one in this video?
@@TyresNTorque On the Island of Montreal, it's very limited for my small electric moped. A public parc here and there. I do have very limited range (less than 50 miles), preventing me from exploring too far from home (I have to make it back on the same charge, so I really can't go further than 25 miles). The travelling logistics when using electric are much different. I need a few hours to charge my battery, so my stops have to be somewhere I can sleep. 🛌😴 But watching your and others' videos has made me look into purchasing a second extended range battery, allowing me to triple that distance. Once I upgrade (soon, I hope), I'll be able to get off the Island into the scenic places surrounding it (and beyond). I'm already planning a road trip for this summer! 🌄
Ohh no, that’s a shame being limited to 25 miles. I bet there is still a lot to see within 25 miles though? A range extender / bigger battery sounds like a great idea 😊 How far is your planned road trip? Where does it involve going? 😊
@@TyresNTorque I live in the middle of the eastern half of the Island of Montreal, which is mostly densely populated urban residential and industrial areas. Lots of concrete. More similar to downtown London, but with less history. As it is, I am unable to visit the entire western half, which is much more scenic, with forests and grasslands and fun roads for a ride. 🌲🌳 As for a road trip, the first attempt would be to go see a sibling in the City of Sherbrooke. If you search GoogleMaps for directions from "Montreal, QC" to "Sherbrooke, QC", using the cycling option (I'm not allowed on highways with what I have), it's roughly 180 km (about 111 miles). With the second extended battery that I would switch halfway, I'd be able to make that trip within the same day, as opposed to 3 or 4 days with stays in motels to recharge the battery overnight. 🛵🔌 The longer road trip I plan is from Montreal, QC to Quebec City, QC. That's roughly 318 km (197 miles). It would take about 3 days to get there and it would be extremely scenic. I'd stay in Quebec City for 2 or 3 days to explore it, as it is the only city in North America (north of Mexico) that still has its fortification walls (dating back to the 17th century) and has plenty of history to discover. Then a 3-day trip back to Montreal. (By car or motorbike, it's only 3 or 4 hours, depending on the route taken.) (Of course, I'd record and upload vids of those trips, though I may need to purchase a few more memory cards for the GoPro. 😅)
Any suggestions on other hour long (ish) routes local to Inglby Barwick? Please let me know down below.
Nice trip and can't complain about the UK weather 😅
Hello Jose, thank you for your comment and thank you, we have been lucky here with the weather lately. Hopefully it continues 😊 Where are you from?

Hello Marty, I am so sorry about my slow reply, I am away in Scotland on a trip.
Shall we sort out something when I’m back?
