They were faster on the straights, harder on the brakes... And you still caught up to them every time! Nice riding, especially considering the size of the road and the traffic. This looks like a bucket list destination for every rider!

Fantastic! I've already loved the part 1, but the part 2 is even better! 😍 Now, there is probably an Italian motovlogger who has posted a video of his ride at the Stelvio pass, asking to his subscribers: "Do you know this guy riding a Honda CB 500 in touring mode with a GoPro? It was f**cking hard to pass him, and he kept following us so easily..." 😉 I

Hello friend . Dacian/ Rumanian rude here 😉 . Just some curiosities , if you don't mind.
1 : CB 500 is air cooler. Doesn't it overheats on this long rides, especially forced/hard riden like this ?
2 : Did you tried '90-'98 Bandits ? What do you think of them ?
3 : Schaaf sounds german. Are you german from italy or just italian from Tyrol 🤔 ?

Love the Alps. wish I could live close to there. France & Italy have way more respect for 2 wheels than the British. In the UK everyone has Island mentality. They all own their little piece of road. And I agree, Italians are crazy but we love them!

#schaaf you're such a great rider , great cornering ! I would love yo meet up and ride some day .
    Btw
I'm just 21 (yes i think that's young), and I've ridden R1,CBR1000RRR-SP, ZH2, Ducati Panigale V4, Daytona 675r, R6, Ninja ZX 10, ninja Zx6, Ninja 300, RE 350,Himalayan,650s, t100, and speed triple, i had owned a R1, but sold it for other reasons and investments, and got a cycle instead of the bike, and now i am looking forward to getting a Trident 660 , or the Triumph Speed triple, cuz even after riding all i have ridden, ( even been to track a few times) is that no matter what, 200hp is not needed , and all these bikes are great, these 200hp r1s , Panigales, e.t.c, are pretty useless from ergonomics, useless low end, in the street what i suggest is the street triple, or the speed triple .
    Cuz :
Such a beautiful sound , the exhaust sound changes as the rev increases , from sophisticated in the low to the roaring in the high ,
Mechanically (a mechanical engineer here) , and as a bike enthusiast, 3 Cyls are the best when it comes to power delivery, low end torque + top end rush , and due to triumphs T-plane crankshaft (perfect secondary balance) this thing revs very high for a engine that size , and reaches redline quicker than any I4...
I've plenty experience, owned an R1 (sold last year and got a cycle), r6, zx 10r, the busa, Zh2, RSV4, panigale, cbr 1000, and z900 , daytona 675, street triple 675RS, RE bikes, and what not , but i find three cyls the best among inline 4s and 2s (Vs are better ). (Except some radicals i4s ).

A good point about go pro at 0:58. I was actually looking and thinking same. My little drift ghost s is really struggling to deliver anything close in terms of quality, especially in tunnels, with opening in walls, where you have very dark and light appearing.

I am sure you are correct, but I you can get a Hero 3 or 4 for just 1/3 of Hero 5 price. Yet the quality is still great, as I can see.

You really are a threat to all of those who think they are better because they got bigger bikes. I saw those bikers shrinking for every turn you kept hanging on their tale. You are a calm rider. And that 500 Honda seems to be on the same pulse. While the other bikes are screaming the Honda is newer “stressed”. It seems so balanced. I like that David vs Goliat “theme”.

Schaaf, you have no idea how lucky you are. These roads are AMAZING! Here in Perth, Western Australia, the roads are flat, straight and very boring (not to mention there aren't many roads here to explore). You not only ride amazing, twisty roads but look at that view! Wow!
Please can you tell me, if I were to visit Italy, how much would it cost to hire a motorcycle? Do you know if tourists can buy motorcycles from the locals? I really want to go to this very road and explore this amazing country by motorcycle.

The one thing I really hated about riding in Italy was that its very common for cars and bikes cut the corners so you end up having to slam on brakes because some idiot is in your lane, scary as hell.

    • @Schaaf
      @Schaaf  8 років тому

I can live with that since they don't complain when I ride a bit more 'enthusiastic' than I would do in Austria. I love the Italian mentality actually.
