65 kmpl average is nuts for a 125 cc scooter. My 110 cc activa barely gives 51 kmpl when cruising at 50-60 kmph on an open road. A rough average is 45-48. Highest is 53.2 kmpl which I felt great.
I don't understand in an era of BS6, nearly multiplied price tag and nearing silver Jubilee of this century why Japanese manufacturers still don't provide rear disc brake or rear 12inch wheel? Disc can be optional but what holds them from 12 inch rear for upto 125cc! OLA's front and rear 12inch wheels feel great.
I have changed the odometer cable thrice in the two and a half years I have had it and replaced the original battery. Other than that it's been running smoothly. I never missed a service and regularly change gear oil even though it is recommended for every other service. Mileage varies between 50-60 depending on how throttle happy I am.
When rear wide tyre is new that 10 inch wheel feels unstable on straight line riding and after running above 7-8k kms mostly solo rear, tyre settles but 12 inch front thin tyre feels skinny and unconfident lacking grip. They are Maxxis tyres. I felt the same with MRFs on another Ray ZR.
Rode this, loved it. Got the old carb Access 125, 13 years old now which might need a replacement soon. I'd love this to come home just waiting for Home Minister to approve it.
Thanks for sharing AkashYadav-vh9hu! We're just curious, apart from wanting a change, is there another reason why you aren't considering the current Access 125?

Wow.. I had this idea about using the alternator magnet as a brushless starter motor and hybrid power train I saw brands using it as the starter but didn't know they also used it as a hybrid system.
My dad has a yamaha fascino 125 bs6 (phase 1). Purchased in Jan 2021. The scooter is running smoothly but had few ECU related issues that led to engine check light coming up in the initial days. The battery has been replaced once after 1.5 years . The scooter has done 7300+ km on the odo. The scooter taillamps look like the wings of a migratory bird, called Wandering Albatross. Few months earlier, the speedometer cable of the scooter snapped and has been replaced. In 2022, the drum brake cables were also replaced after one cable snapped during a city ride. Its only dad who rides the scooter and I dont intend to learn riding a scooter, as I plan to learn a safer option, driving.
Fascino back tail looks very weird. I was about to purchase it. But didn't purchased just due to weird back long tail looks. They should go back to previous model. There tail should end after the seat.
The worst scooter imho. Purchased last year in mar the special edition matte black and gold. 1. Always had engine light malfunctions and the scooter wont start. It left me stranded 3 times and twice it was the fuse. 2. Battery had faults and the company didn’t give me warranty and the hassle was so much it was easier to buy a new battery. 3.The hybrid assist is a whimsical mechanism. It may or may not work. 4. Unreliable electricals make it a nightmare to own. 5. Worst resale. It was really difficult to sell it. Yamaha offered me 30k ( for a 6 months old under 2000kms run ) originally bought for 1L on road. 6. Amazing amazing mileage, but a vehicle with that kind of reliability, who gives a damn. Im sure it would’ve been a much more reliable product if the hybrid and bluetooth connectivity wouldnt have been there. But for now, Thank god its gone. ❤
And that is why Activa sells. I had an Activa 5g i bought in feb 2019 and sold it October last year for ₹40k to Wheelscart(a used 2 wheelers sales and purchase company).
@@Ashes-9it still ranks 1 world wide in customer satisfaction. Well I guess yamaha tried to compromise with the price since Indians are too conscious about it 😂.
The only reason it doesn't sell as much as expected is it fails to impress in test rides due to unstable rear wheel when new and feels too light as well hence word of the mouth doesn't get convincing. My friend took an Avenis instead despite my good suggestion of Yamaha.
Mileage certainly varies based on how someone drives @relangi_mavayya so there's no reason to assume that either is wrong. But we believing expecting ~60kmpl is realistic for most people.
Its a nice scooter, except for the suspension. Its too stiff! I get fuel economy of 52-53 n almost 100% city riding conditions. No complaints other than the suspension.
The main reason for getting such high fuel efficiency is another one. Yamaha has intentionally engineered out 'engine braking' in their hybrid models. The moment you leave throttle, the scooter becomes neutral and starts coasting. Whereas other brand scooters have strong CVT-based engine braking which limits speed to 70kph even on a downhill. 'Coasting' on plane roads and downhill will obviously result ingreat FE. But it's a very dangerous situation tbh 🙃
Design inspiration was from European scooters. It’s not that bad when you compare it with mileage. However RaZer 125 street rally is good in design too with same engine and mileage.
And activa has 110 cc engine as well with less power figures and a 10 kg more kerb weight when compared to fascino at 110 kg. I guess it's time to move away from activa. My activa 5g barely gives me 50 kmpl and I ride at economy speeds not more than 60 kmph
Does this new tech increases the mechanical complexity? If yes, it can be a nightmare as it gets old. As all of you know that BS6 has increased a lot of complexity for the mechanics and the electronic parts make repairs & maintenance expensive than it's previous models.
@@motorinc If they've already installed a battery and motor in this hybrid scooter, adding regenerative braking wouldn't have been difficult and would ultimately improve the scooter's efficiency even further.
Worst scooter i ever had. Ive had 2 ECU replacements in fewer than 16 months. Its ECU costs 10k which is WAY higher than what you could afford to change every 6 months. I heard yamahas were reliable but this is giving me more problems than anything i ever owned. I never knew affording a two wheeler could be so difficult. Yamaha should be sued for this. Why make something so easily damaged so expensive? And the worst part is that they don’t even know how to avoid this ECU problem. They simply ask you to get a new one as if it costs peanuts.
