First time watching and loved what you presented. I made stuffed peppers for supper and only used part of the tomato paste. I put in the fridge knowing I wouldn't use it up but since I just watched this - I scooped out spoonfuls for the freezer. I will use them up now. Thanks for sharing this.
You have quite a variety, I think this is really good to do. I know myself that unless I force it, I just buy what I meal plan and forget about things I already have
Thanks, Larissa! You are not at all alone! It’s so tempting to do. I definitely try to look at what I have first, then meal plan. But it definitely takes practice. What do you have in your kitchen right now that you want to use up?! 😊
Hope, everything looks so yummy! I really enjoy seeing the grocery challenges! We’re planning on doing a no spend September and using what we have first until it’s all gone. We are blessed to have such a stocked freezer and pantry. Thanks so much for sharing!
Yes, and it’s honestly the perfect time of year to eat down the food stock before the holidays all start rolling around! You’ll have to let me know how the no spending goes! I’m starting to plan out how I’ll do my videos for the budget challenge too.
Obviously that Kohlrabi has probably been gone for a long time but just to let you know one thing I always do is slice them thin and fry them like potato chips. They're absolutely delicious. As a matter of fact I grow them in my garden just to make this special treat. I'm not saying there any more nutritious than a regular potato chip but they are much better in my opinion
What a good idea with the tomato paste. I put remaining tomato paste in a ziplock bag, flatten it out and run my finger to separate it into fourths and put in the freezer flat, then just break off a piece to use in a recipe
Hi. Once a week, I look in the fridge and we eat leftovers. We had 1 piece of chicken, a zucchini, a half jar of spaghetti sauce and some old cheese. To stretch what I had, I boiled some noodles and took some leftover garlic bread out of the freezer. When my kids were young, Sunday breakfast was French toast with bread ends. Tina
I need to use up frozen spiral spaghetti squash. I have no idea how to cook it. Normally I just roast a spaghetti squash in the oven with olive oil, salt, pepper, & garlic, or if it’s any other type of squash, I just use it in a stir fry…. but I have no idea what to do with that frozen spiral spaghetti squash. Help!!! We are doing a pantry challenge now in January & I’ve no idea what to do with that.
Ah, I am so sorry I am just seeing this! My notifications have been so iffy lately. I agree, I think after thawing it out, using it in a casserole or baked pasta dish would be so good. I wonder if you could do a cheesy sauce, the spaghetti squash, throw in whatever veggies you have on hand, and then either chicken or ham. Or would love to know if you already tried something else!

@@thecozycosm black wild rice, and I have made a couple soups but hubby and kids don’t really care for soup
Ooh I’ve never tried black rice! Grain bowls are another good meal and easy way to use up anything you have!

@@thecozycosm awesome! Good luck girl!
Pretty good dedication to the challenge!
I really loved your idea on freezing the tomatoe paste!

I feel like you did an amazing job! I don’t think the rotisserie chicken was a fail. Great job!

you could use ice cube trays to put your tonatoe paste in and freeze.
That’s also a great idea! 😊
I’m such a dork, why didn’t I ever think to use the little bins to organize my vegetables?
It’s such a nice way to corral things!
I have some spinach plus mixed salad. I'll probably end up freezing the spinach.
Yes, it freezes so well. I need to remember to freeze mine before it goes bad!
