I plan all meals around what needs to be used that I have in fridge. Leftovers are the next days lunch and anything else gets vacuum sealed and frozen for sometime in near future for thaw and warm up meal. We have next to none food waste. But love your ideals on lunches.
@@MealsWithMaria thanks, that's why I watch your channel. You have such great ideas that it gives me option and I don't get locked into the same ole thing. Thanks
I love your no spend weeks. It helps us all to be creative! I have realized during my Jan/Feb pantry challenge that I miss shopping. I don't NEED anything, but I see so many things online I WANT. Big difference. I have been window shopping on Instacart and then not actually buying the stuff! I know that's weird, but it's like shopping without shopping! Almost 55,000subs! Woo hoo🥳🥳🥳
I've accumulated a lot of sale food recently and things are getting tight in the freezer and pantry. Thanks for the inspo for a prep weekend! (Also I do the roasted veggies thing too and sometimes I pop them in the blender and freeze in an ice cube tray and pop them into things like Mac and cheese or sketti sauce for extra veggie servings!)
I relate to you and all your little kitchen habits so much 😂. Minimizing dirty dishes, multiple things in the oven staggered, and just guesstimating/mixing the whole baked good batter in one bowl and skipping the wet/dry separation stage. 😅
Stuff looks great! Best pantry thing I did recently was cornbread, cooked meat/onions, cheese, and salsa. DH called it a concoction and we gobbled it right up. Used up the last pkg of cornbread mix, the cooked meat/onions, some cheese, and the last of a LARGE bottle (why did I buy one that big?) bottle of salsa verde...
I try to meal plan consistently in the beginning of the week. Sometimes I do follow it. But lately I have a lot of meat and keep frozen veggies on hand then some main spices or sides like rice. And condensed soups. I try to shop in my kitchen most of the time. I've wasted a lot of produce changing my meals.
You gave me some great ideas. Those muffins looked delicious. I’ve been making banana muffins every week if I have bananas that are looking questionable. Makes a great grab and go snack. Thanks for sharing Maria!
I always steam my eggs! I just use a regular pot with a tight fitting lid and about a 1/2 an inch of water. Bring to a boil, put the eggs right in the water, turn down to a a low boil put the lid on. Steam at a a low boil for 10-15 minutes, depending on how done you want the yolks. I steam my eggs for 10 minutes because I like my yolks to be translucent/jam like in the center. Cool as you would with boiled eggs and store in the fridge. Bonus - steamed eggs are always easy to peel.
We did a pantry/freezer clean out after Christmas, and then we got stuck inside for 5 days because of an ice storm this last week. It's finally time to go shopping again. 😄
So many great ideas. I think a LEFTOVER and how to "use them to make new meals out if them" Video would be good too. I hear soo often i cooked to much of this and that...
For those peppers and onions, when you find them on sale you can also chop/slice and freeze them! Great work. We are gearing up for a pantry challenge too
Such a smart idea about using the leftover vegetables to roast. A lot of people who don't like vegetables have tried my roasted vegetables and like them a lot even cauliflower taste good roasted brussel sprouts to
I do the same thing Maria I will take something out and then have to utilize it. But not for what I originally intended it! Thank you for sharing all your tips!
Thanks for the time and effort you put into making these videos. This one inspired me to process, cook, and freeze all of the stuff that was about to go off in my kitchen. I ended up with roasted sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, caramelized onions, and chicken, plus plain potatoes and lentils for the dog. It only took an hour or so since everything was cooking and being prepped at once. While watching, I noticed that you tossed your vegetable trimmings. You might try saving them with any chicken bones in a gallon-sized bag in the freezer. When it gets full, toss them into the crockpot or in a deep pot with water to make stock. It requires very little effort and can cook while you do other things.
You give such sound advice and help me save money. I am not a young person, but it helps me feed my grandsons child friendly dishes. Love you and your family! Thanks for all the great uses of kitchen country appliances. We all have these things and I think that sometimes I forget to use them. A few spots dealing with all air fryer, IP, crockpot. Electric frying pan, etc would be great.
Yes it is work, but so rewarding in the end.food Ahead, things not wasted. We always like a big kettle Of soup when doing clean. Eat now, and then freeze Or share the rest.
I'm so jealous of all the snow you're getting!! My son and I have been waiting patiently for at least one storm, but nothing yet...☹ And I'm in Jersey where we used to always get ❄ snow! Hopefully soon🤞 love watching your videos...thanks for the motivation!❤❤
I always cook the food that needs he higher temp on the bottom rack and the one that needs the lower temp on the top rack and put the temp of the oven in the middle. Like with your chicken and potatoes I would had the oven at 375 and chicken on top and potatoes on bottom. Because the bottom rack is closer to the heat source... I'm a new subscriber and loved this video :)
Too bad they didn't give you a discount code. My air fryer has a dehydrator function. I'm going to try it out on something. Thanks for the cooking ideas. I have some veggies I'm going to roast tomorrow 😃 Hope you feel better 😊
My doctor has just informed me that it’s not true, if you see rot or mold and cut it away it’s fine. The bacteria has technically spread throughout and he told me to throw it away, Because people can still get sick the bacteria is all throughout on the microscopic level
I’m a family of one. My pantry, freezer and fridge are full! I’m heading out of town in a month and I’m eating it all! If I’m out of something I’m out. Trying not buy food if i don’t need to.
Did anyone else have their video freeze near the beginning and again a few times in the middle? I finally got it to finish, but I just wondered if it was the video or my iPad.
I told my husband that this week we could either buy a gallon of milk and a dozen eggs or a Maserati. 😂
Haha 😂
I'm on day 3 of pantry challenge and done feel overwhelmed lol.Trying save every dime we can to buy a house.
Roasted vegetables are so, so good. I make a roasted veggie hoagie with provolone and pesto. Delish

I do this too 😂
Me too. This past year I realized I was shopping from habit instead of really needing anything.
I do the same thing with Amazon & TEMU 🤣
I found chopping up celery carrots potatoes and onions and freezing them in a freezer proof baggie you can take them out when you need a quick meal.
When my kids were little they loved my tupperware cabinet. My son used my pots as drums. Love roasted veggies.
Alllll day! So much more fun than toys 😅
I am trying to use what I have on hand also. Working with freezer, pantry and fridge vegetables. Great ideas Maria. Thank you.

You always give such great ideas on how to use up what we have before it goes bad. I thank you so much!! Blessings sweet lady!!
Okay, I love this video! You have a very nice way of speaking and I really like the relaxed way of assembling meals. So, thank you ❤

I used to use my Excalibur food dehydrator to make beef jerky. Love it!
Thank you! Food looks great! I’ve been using my oven a lot so I have to hold off making this!👍👍👍👍

WOW! I never knew that you could steam eggs! That is so much easier than boiling them on the stove! Thanks for the info!

I feel pretty bad when we have to throw anything out so we focus on using what we have too. Always a good way to live/shop/cook.
Dehydrate watermelon! So good. Also delicious grilled
See Mindy Mom sent me! I love your videos!
Yay!!! I’m so glad you’re here!!
I’m new to your channel and I’m enjoying your videos and content very much.
My kindergartner still pulls the mixing bowls out for a drum set!
Awesome video, thanks for sharing
That second bowl… happens to me all the time.
Great job Maria Love 💘 ❤ 👏 💕 💖 💗

When my tomatoes are too soft for salad I chop and freeze them two cups per bag. It is equal to a can and is one less item on my grocery bill.
Good ideas.
Thank you!
Did you save the scraps for broth ?
AWESOME JOB 🍽️

You can dip veggies in ranch 😊
Yesss! I forget these simple things!
I need a dehydrator now
Carrots freeze well too.
U cook the eggs for 14 min, how long do u leave them in the ice bath?
I love dehydrating for beef jerky but I’ve done bananas.
I need to try the bananas!
I did clean out the freezer because i had to space i have space now for new items
Thanks for a great video
You’re welcome Frankie!
