    I love that infusable ink is flush and washable! No more worrying about vinyl peeling off. Thanks for testing the mini for us, now we know the press is best.

    So thankful for this video!!! I am new to infusible inks and just got a mug press. I watched another video and said 400 for 60 seconds with the mug press and it turned out awful! So, I found your video and it worked!!! Definitely the 180 seconds at 400 degrees!! My mug turned out beautiful with this technique!!! Thank you for your video!!

    I actually was able to apply Infusible Ink onto a stainless steel tumbler using my Mini Press, it literally took me about 8 hours to complete as each area I pressed on high for 2:45 and it was a full wrap around. It was a true labor of love lol, but I wanted to see if it would really work or not.

    Marley, great video. I have to say one of the things I struggle with is all the different products, vinyls, etc out there, sometimes its a bit confusing on which product to use for which item, shirt, etc. I am glad you answered one of my main questions "can it go to the microwave?" Tks. The product you used was infusable ink? Correct? Was this a Cricut product? Or from where. Again great video.

    • @KarleyHall

    Not sure if this is even possible but could you tape it as usual and put the mug in the oven for a few minutes? Sounds silly I know but if the heat is high on the mug press then I’m thinking the oven would work quite well? I’m looking at starting up an Etsy shop later this year and looking into the different things the circuit can do 😊 looks awesome though!!!!

    • @KarleyHall
      @KarleyHall  4 роки тому +1

      Yes- this will work, but you should not use the oven you cook with! The gas will coat your oven and then cool back into an ink. Each time you hear your oven, the ink will turn into a gas and coat your food. A lot of people use a convection toaster oven dedicated to sublimation with a mug wrap :)

    I've done sublimation in the past. Those inks do have an issue with UV lights, so might be cautious about leaving out in the sunlight-FYI. Wonder if a heat gun would have worked on the bottom?? Also with sublimation you can buy mug wraps and put them in an oven.

    • @KarleyHall
      @KarleyHall  4 роки тому

      I don’t recommend using a mug wrap in an oven you cook in. But I have used a mug wrap in a convection over specifically designated for sublimation. I haven’t seen an issue with any UV wear and tear with any of my sublimation projects. We made a garden flag on a sublimation blank and it did not fade. I’ll have to look into that and see what other people have experienced! Thanks for the heads up!

    couple of questions. I don't have a mug press so I will have to use the mug wrap and a conventional oven. do you have any suggestions of time and temp sublimating a mug using those tools? many use a convection toaster type oven, but I only have a standard electric oven that I can use. I don't want to use my everyday oven for this process. would I still have to use the butcher paper on top of the cricut clear?
    when using the cricut paper - does that differ in time/temp from sublimation prints on sub paper or bright white paper?

    • @KarleyHall
      @KarleyHall  4 роки тому +1

    hey there I was just wondering
    I have been trying out the infusible ink on Mugs however I come across an issue.
    I'm not sure what is causing it exactly but sometimes the grid marks from the sheets transfer as well as the ink.
    I do however use a different method. I use silicone wraps and the oven since I don't have a press. A lot of the times they work perfectly except for a few light brown grid marks.
    any ideas why this might be happening?

    • @KarleyHall
      @KarleyHall  4 роки тому +1

      I got the grid marks when I put mine in a sublimation oven too! The ink off the transfer carrier sheet is transferring. So I trim mine down and then tape it on and I haven’t had the grid issue since then!

      It will absolutely work for infusible ink on shirts, stuffed animals, bags, but it will not work on mugs. When I worked at Cricut, it was tested a bunch and unfortunate when it didn't work. I recommend the easypress mini for so many other things, just not this 1 use case scenario.

    Hi Karley, Love this tut. Two questions 1) you mention the mug having a special surface for the process, what is that surface or type of mug? 2) I love the font in the words "need" & "now". Could you share the font name? Thank you

    I looked through the comments to see if my question was answered and couldn't find any info. If it was...forgive me. My question is; can a mug with infusible ink be microwaved?
