This video couldn’t be better timed, I purchased some 20 oz skinny tumblers and then realized they’re too small for my Cricut mug press. Placed an order for the inserts, can’t wait for them to get here so I can get started. Thanks, Angie!
I was REALLY rooting for the camp mug!!😭 I want those so bad. Excellent tutorial. I haven't seen the mug press IRL, but it looks like a button on the bottom where the mug sits, so upside down, it would go around that & lower in the machine missing full heat. Never thought about it before seeing this. Thank you!!
Thank you so much! I have been using a different method but you have to turn it a million times and it takes about 30 minutes to make one! I have put an order in for some silicone wraps and will be off to the races once I get them!
Just thought I would say I have used a silicone baking mat cut up and put around in layers to close the gaps for the skinny tumblers and/or anything else that is too small for sublimation with printed infusible ink. It worked just fine. Maybe test that out on a video sometime to see if you get good results as well.
This is great ❤ I use my silicone mat that I order for my epoxy it came with two mats so I use one for my tumblers.and I figure out a few more great tips. I use a metal stirrer to lay down on the bottom plate
@@rosalindalozano233 I place the metal stirrer on the bottom of the metal plate it keep your tumbler from going all the down to the bottom, it help you also got a even press for the top of your tumbler
Hoping Circut comes out with an option to press tumblers because for the price it is my opinion that the process should be less complicated when using the mug press.
Finally I've found what's wrong. I've gone through 7 tumblers and they all have those watermarks and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I'm doing sublimation and the mats and every single tumbler has come out with those marks
Hi, I love your channel and have had great projects with your tutorials :) Where you had issues with the whole sheet of infusible ink and the moisture marks, do you think smaller images that were weeded and cut out then taped onto the skinny tumbler would work better? Thankyou x
Just an FYI, saw another video where they tried infusible ink on tumbler, flipping it like you in Cricut Mug Press and it did the same as yours. They think the heat reheats the infusible ink when flipped and fades it and makes those markings.
Thanks for this video. Just starting out with sublimation. I'm doing my first tumblers this weekend. Question, when you did the 2nd pass at the tumbler and taped the image inside the tumbler, did you add protective paper inside to prevent bleeding into the mug press? Thanks
Ordered the wraps, followed all your instructions precisely, and I LOVE MY NEW TUMBLER!!!! THANK YOU!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE all your videos and hard work! Question . . . How do you print a full tumble wrap thru Design Scape? I had to print twice and tape.
Great video Angie! Thanks for finding a product that creates that tight fit we need. You mentioned that when you flip the skinny tumbler, you should lift it slight off the bottom of the press. Shouldn't you do that for both the top and the bottom so neither end touches the bottom? If not, can you explain why? Thanks so much and again, great video - as always! :)
It is fine to touch the bottom plate. However, when you flip it, the tumbler is open and will NOT touch the bottom plate but instead go around it. So it actually goes in LOWER than the tumbler inserted with the bottom side down.

Angie, on the top it’s easier to tape it pressing the paper inside the cup this way it will sublimate on the rim.
I did that on the second one!
I love all your tutorials! Thank you!
If you put a medal stirrer or butter knife when you flip the cup, that helps.
Walh makes a horizontal auto press wonder if that would be better for 20oz tumblers
Not sure!
Angie when will they be bring out a new mug press that does more than just mugs
I seriously have no idea if that is even going to happen?
I was wondering if you were able to figure out a way to stop the moisture issue when using infusible transfer sheets?
I wasn't. These pads seem to hold a ton of moisture.
Is there a video that shows how to print the watermelon wrap and what program to use?
Try this: ua-cam.com/video/kfmzrLncghk/v-deo.html
Thank you. This was great. Can’t wait to try this.

Finally I've found what's wrong. I've gone through 7 tumblers and they all have those watermarks and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I'm doing sublimation and the mats and every single tumbler has come out with those marks
Hi Angie have you tried the silicone sleeve on the skinny tumblers 😫
I have not.
Great video. Would you suggest getting 2 sets of inserts and swap them out instead of using the same one?
I guess you could as they do get really hot.
Hi, I love your channel and have had great projects with your tutorials :)
Where you had issues with the whole sheet of infusible ink and the moisture marks, do you think smaller images that were weeded and cut out then taped onto the skinny tumbler would work better? Thankyou x
Yes I think smaller images would be better!
OMG Yess, thank you!!!
You are very welcome!
could you use shrink wraps to hold the sublimation paper in place?
I would not. It will likely melt in a press like this.
Glass works as long as you heat the glass before you sublimated. I fill with warm water for a few minutes and dry thoroughly) I've had no problems.
I have just decided not to recommend it as there have been several issues.
Just an FYI, saw another video where they tried infusible ink on tumbler, flipping it like you in Cricut Mug Press and it did the same as yours. They think the heat reheats the infusible ink when flipped and fades it and makes those markings.
Something DEFINITELY happens with the Infusible Ink that is different.
Can you do glassware?
I would not do glass in the Cricut Mug Press.

Thanks for this video. Just starting out with sublimation. I'm doing my first tumblers this weekend. Question, when you did the 2nd pass at the tumbler and taped the image inside the tumbler, did you add protective paper inside to prevent bleeding into the mug press? Thanks
I am not sure what this references but anything inside wouldn't bleed out to the mug press sides.
Have you ever tried acid etching on glass tumblers instead of sublimation.
Try this: ua-cam.com/video/CuQg0N5GSbU/v-deo.html
Am loving this. Could you shrink wrap to ensure no ghosting happens? I won’t get my sleeves until Wednesday- cannot wait to try!
There really isn't any reason to shrink wrap if using this method. Shrink wrapping is to apply pressure when using a convection oven.
What if the inserts were heated with a press before it goes in the mug press? Would that help get rid of the moisture?
Not sure! It didn't seem to make a difference when I was making several in a row.
I don't use Design Space to print. I have a video coming up with some other free options!
Hi! Thanks for the video! Can I ask where you got those shelves in the background? I'm looking for cricut/printer storage like this. TIA!!!
Try this: ua-cam.com/video/kWaUI0bfHpg/v-deo.html
To fix your seam you need to cut the excess white from your sheet before wrapping
What would you recommend for doing this without having to purchase the inserts?
A different press.
Why do you use protective paper? What happens if you don't use it?
You run the risk of getting ink on the inside of your press.
Would using a silicone tumbler sleeve possibly work instead of the inserts?
I actually JUST saw these yesterday. I am not sure!

Loved your video but have a question. Using infusible ink transfers on a stainles steel tumbler do you have to use a longer time for it. I tried and it didn't hardly show. I was using the inserts which are great. Help please
With this press, it is sometimes tough to dial in how much time you need. You may need more depending on the blank.
If you ever for example press for a longer time will it be ok or mess up the project??
You can mess up a project by overheating.

why do u have to rotate it? dosent it do the hole bottom in one go? on both sides?
There is a gap in the front when you close it. It is for the handle of the mug. In this case, we want to do a full wrap so we would need to rotate to sublimate that strip.
