@@adamsmith3413 From what I can tell it's currently like $50k a year for life for a colonel, plus free medical, 10% discounts on just about everything, cheap VA loans, etc. Not too shabby for passive income, especially if in a state with low cost of living and/or no/low state income tax . Col. Callahan, thank you for your service to our nation! Your walking sticks are beautiful, and a BARGAIN at $50. It's wonderful that you are sharing some of your survival and tracking knowledge with us. I'm trying to learn these things in my senior years... you've inspired me!
Always intrigues me how retired US officers and NCO's ramp up so much appreciation for their service, yet in the UK they come and go with hardly any thanks or gratitude for all they have done, after a lifetime of putting their Country first, before everything, putting their life at risk, and in many cases coming home injured. You guys in the US have your priorities right when it comes to showing your appreciation. Something sadly lacking in my country. God Bless America!
Finally something affordable. Looks like this guy put his heart into making these products. I would buy one in a heart beat. True American for his workmanship alone..,
Those are all nice items to have with you when camping out and the walking sticks are the best for defense and I have one plain walking stick which I use to carry with me in the forest.
Thank-you Col. for your Service! Now, prices are remarkable for something that an Army Ranger not only created but experiences of his had to inspire! Best to ya',,,,!
Col Jim Callahan Thank you for service. My son who is in the Army in Sear Vista. Bought me the survival stick for Christmas from you. I love the stick it's a great Idea
I love this walking stick. I have never seen anything like it. the price has changed but it's still very reasonable. Great job Mr. Callahan. Thank you.
Definitely affordable. If some big camping accessories company was making this, they'd sell it for double the price. $50 is a steal for what you can get out of it.

Whether his marketing techniques are completely valid or not isn't the point here. The point of this video isn't about him; this is about YOUR OWN survival. Regardless of what quality it is, the survival gear you have with you is always superior to the gear you you left behind. I'll gladly take this tricked out walking stick with me and you guys who don't want one can come along too. When the chips are down in a genuine survival situation you will be begging to use the survival gear and the walking stick! This is actually a very cleverly designed walking stick with a lot of novel features such as the arrowhead insert, a taper for mounting a bayonet, etc. Also, I like the idea of adding a bullet holder strip down the side of the key chain fob. I'll be adding that to the next ones I make. Jim, here's an idea to consider. Feel free to use it. On my fobs I place a good carabiner on both ends. They are far more useful than a key ring in a survival situation. The whistle can still go on the lower carabiner. The top carabiner can snap on a belt, back pack, or any other convenient spot. Put the key ring part on a simple lanyard and sell it with the fob, giving the option to attach the lanyard to the fob for neck wear when desired. It would be a far better and more versatile arrangement. Best of luck in your business!

Thanks for video. I was a medic at the 6th RTB in FL and made my own true Ranger Walking Stick. I still remember going into yellow river swamp and cutting 4 saplings to to let soak & cure. I lost it when my house was robbed some years back and always wanted another one.
Matztertaler, All of his sticks are made of wood and the version with the witness marks to aid in tracking, to which he drills out only one end to a specific depth to contain the survival tools. So, the short answer is, "No" he isn't using bamboo for his sticks. As tough as bamboo is, I doubt it would have the life expectancy of a hardwood or whatever is being used and seen in this video. A good friend of mine (who passed away 2 Christmases ago) bought me one of these as a gift. He also gave me a broadhead and the attachment to make a spear or gigging tool but it seems to be fairly fragile and easily bent. That said, I'd be VERY leery and cautious about using it for casual hunting out of concern of breaking it. If there was a MUCH (!!) stronger method of attaching a broadhead or other impaling tool (outside of the slip-on knife shown) it would be that much more effective and helpful. However, lashing a quality knife to the end WOULD make an effective stand-off tool or weapon. Used with caution and keeping the fragile nature of the broadhead attachment method in mind, this does have some utility and purpose, though. All in all not a bad tool to have on hand in the field as an adjunct to a bigger survival kit.

So many things to say, but I'll keep it short. My first thought was "how does he sell these so cheap?" The materials must add up to a fair cost, but then his labour would take a while too, and then he has to travel and spend time selling. This looks like a truly great product at a ridiculously low price. I may be wrong about the pricing as I'm in Australia, so your dollar value may be a lot different. This man is a decent person and trying to keep active and involved in society, and I believe a role model for any kids. Point of clarification on the Monkey Fist. Yes, many people (including EBAY) consider these as weapons. Certainly the big ones with the nuts are almost nothing but. However, the origin of these is in my career field (merchant marine), as a line throwing device. Sailors would tie a rock in the end of a length of light line and use the weight to carry the line to shore or to another vessel. The other end is tied to a heavier rope, and the light line is used to pull the heavier line across the gap. Bored yet? Here's the point -- you may never be in a riot, or get jumped by a bunch of outlaw bikers. You very well may need to toss a line over a hanging branch to pull it loose (I hate leaving widow-makers hang). You may need to pass a line over a high branch and hang your food bag up out of bear reach. You may need to throw a line out to someone bogged down in a marsh, or get a line across a creek. Lots of uses, I have one on/in every bugout bag and trail bag in the house. Word of warning - check your state and local laws before walking around with one of these hanging off your keychain -- they are illegal in some places (goldarned juvenile delinquents screwing things up for us senior delinquents again . . . I want my danged switchblade back!) Personally, if a bad guy is close enough for me to whack with a monkey fist, I'm well and truly screwed! Y'all be good, and hike on!
I had a monkey fist necklace as a kid that I got from a field trip...I definitely used it as a weapon against my sister. But to my defense she was 5'8 and like 250lbs+ by age 12 and I was 3 years younger, a foot shooter, and barely 100lbs. She'd have killed me if I didn't try to even the odds. That was a good fight.

yeah, you can use it to push off wild dogs or javelina lmfao...A wild animal isn't going to give a fuck about that stick. you better have a rifle! for the love of Christ, get a back pack with some real gear, and consider getting some bug juice and a roll of toilet paper.

Colonel Callahan, I love the features you've built into your walking sticks and your other products. A couple questions: Do your walking sticks have any sort of built-in mount at the lower end of the stick, to bolt or lash a Y- or L-shaped metal tool to be used for pinning down snakes or critters which are caught in traps or snares, knock fruit, nuts or fire making materials out of a tree, as a rest for glassing or shooting etc? Also, are any of your sticks built six feet or longer? I ask this because I think anything intended to use as a spear or long-handled gouging weapon should be a least 8-10 inches longer that the height of its user, to make it as difficult as possible to land on the sharp end of the tool if a person loses their balance and falls to the ground.
I'm just as impressed by this guy's life plan. Went to college, joined the Army as an Officer, retired a Col. at around 45, probably gets a crazy pension, and now he makes rad walking sticks.

yeah, you can use it to push off wild dogs or javelina lmfao...A wild animal isn't going to give a fuck about that stick. you better have a rifle! for the love of Christ, get a back pack with some real gear, and consider getting some bug juice and a roll of toilet paper.

8:00 Brings to mind the WW2 silver dollar/dollars option sewn in behind the paraglide patches on my unit's garrison cap. The weight of the coin/coins used as a blackjack, could help get you out of a 'Fayettville Combat Alley Scrap' with marines, or even buy your way back to Bragg when you've run out of folding cash. Wow Sir,outstanding products
Fantastic product !!
Empty all that shit out and fill it with m&m's, now you got something.
Nothing like limping around the house with support and supply of candy wherever you roam. Great idea Craig !
Absolutely brilliant.
