If a bear is that close to the walking stick , he’s going to use it as a toothpick after he’s done with you lol😅

My great grandfather, and former neighbor, both have passed on now, used walking sticks while walking. It helped them with balance and helped with things like snakes. In their day in eastern Kentucky, there was not all these paved roadways and good hiking trails like we see today. They spent much time in the great outdoors working, gardening, gathering firewood, overseeing their properties and etc. A good sturdy wooden stick to aid walking was much desired by some. Because of that, I'm a believer in having a good walking stick for balance and defense. Thanks for sharing.

Jim, a good addition that would fit inside could be an oven roasting bag. You can collect a large amount of water and the boil it suspended over a fire.

Looks heavy. I'd rather carry the extra weight at my hip and keep the stick as light as possible.

There's absolutely no way I'll ever pay $850 for one of those.

Very nice walking stick. When you break it down for storage you could pick up appropriate sized rubber corks from a hardware store to temporarily plug the open ends.

Wow! A 21st century version of a shepherd's staff I saw when I was a kid. It was amazing! It had most of those things and it even had a flask and a shepherd's clock, a kind of ring-inside-a wheel sundial that not only told the time of day, but also the day and month. And could be used as a fishing pole, spear, or shepherd's slingshot. Those were very personalized by the user. Most shepherd's staffs were just a stick.

Wow, very cool. When you break it down for travel add a cork on a cord and S beaner to plug the staff so your tubes won’t fall out. When assembled clip the cork to the lanyard. The cork will also double as a fishing bobber.
