Out of all the US carriers for old Samsung phones I'd consider Sprint to be the best because they have unbranded firmware XAS available.

Tmobile mutilated the Note 4's Settings menu. ATT mutilated the Note 5's Settings menu.
if it wasnt discontinued, it will have gotten Android 8.0.0 just like the S7 series
