  • Опубліковано 16 сер 2018
  • Sold for a record $110 million dollars, Billionaire's Beach in Malibu is home to the most expensive property ever sold in Los Angeles.
Hard Rock Hotel co-founder Peter Morton sold the property in April to Oil & Gas Billionaire Michael Smith.
The city is home to Hollywood movie stars, the entertainment industry, affluent residents, and surfers of course, Malibu is a beach city in western Los Angeles County, California, situated about 30 miles (48 km) west of Downtown Los Angeles.
Malibu has been used as a location or setting for many films, television programs and music videos.
Most Malibu residents live within a few hundred yards of Pacific Coast Highway (State Route 1), which traverses the city, with some residents living up to a mile away from the beach up narrow canyons.
Nicknamed "the 'Bu" by surfers and locals, beaches along the Malibu coast include Surfrider Beach, Zuma Beach, Malibu Beach, Topanga Beach, Point Dume Beach, County Line, and Dan Blocker Beach.
Malibu is named for the Ventureño Chumash settlement of Humaliwo, which translates to “The Surf Sounds Loudly.”

I do a lot of work out in malibu and for those of you that think you seen it all simply by driving on PCH... you have no idea how outrageously luxurious some of these homes are once you start going inland from PCH. Some of these homes are like small compounds strait out of a movie set in a jungle next to a beach.

Funny, in all the time I grew up and lived there, never took that last turn to Pt. Dume. Always continued to Zuma, so it was terrific seeing that. Just wish you had spent more time in the righthand lane so I could get a clearer view of details as they passed by.

Thanks for this. I live on the East Coast, but back in 2007, I was in Ventura, CA for a work assignment. On the way back to LAX, I decided to take the PCH. It's a beautiful drive if you've got the time (I missed my flight while trying to find a bathroom on Wilshire and ended up on the 405!) and although I only traveled about 60 miles of the road, I'd like to do the whole 650 +/- miles some day.

that tiny section of houses on the left that have beach access is for the super wealthy. i was in one of them in 1971. downstairs screening room for films, a whole wall of coolers for a dry bar, huge glass panels protecting a patio area, and the owner had his Oscar on display at his work desk. It was Robert Wise, who built the home in late 60s.

Surely not a good value for money, I bet those beach houses are popular, but their right next to the noisy highway. And the place is not exactly beatifull, but not ugly by any means ... It's nicer in an old english village. The main problem for me would be that highway, it just ruins it having to cross a busy road if I want to go to the beach.
