You're a good driver, I noticed. Like when you don't block an intersection when it's backed up ahead of you. And yes, I did notice that black exotic car coming up to your right, then it changed lanes to the left then to the right, then to the left, etc. You just stayed 'easy-going'. Any passenger will feel relaxed when you're behind the wheel. And good video, too.

Thank you for making this. I visited LA in 1997, Sunset Strip was somewhere I always wanted to see, mainly the places where my favourite bands stared out playing, and hanging out. Brought back some good memories

I feel like as an outsider looking in this is what the apidimi of LA is to me. Tall Pom trees that tower over the roads, huge billboards, restaurants on every corner, new cars, Golden sunsets, skyscrapers, street lights and neon signs. God what I would do to just visit again.

This is the best Sunset Strip video! Great time of the day.
This video is exceedingly well done. Once upon a time, I lived in Los Angeles, where I worked as a clerk at 1601 Eastlake Avenue, Boyle Heights. The photographer has a marvelous eye and gives his viewers exactly what we are looking for -- a tour of Los Angeles. I was thoroughly satisfied, especially when I put it on full screen. Third dimension -- not first -- all the way, meaning it was almost like being there in the flesh. Thank you, sir, and I certainly intend to view all your work. You just give that satisfying a visual experience.

Wow, that’s really cool. The chateau marmont, the riot house, the whiskey, the rainbow, Roxy, iconic stuff. I know where it all is now.
I used to be a film courier and go-fer. Lived near Sunset and Doheny around 1982. A lot of stuff has not changed. Really takes me back to see this drive and makes me remember that the fastest east west route in Hollywood is Fountain Ave. The Strip had a lot of dicey businesses in the 1950-70s. They had a different police force than the surrounding areas, LA and Bev Hills.
Has always been loaded with billboards for movies and TV. Tower Records (3:01) used to have huge ones for big album drops -- GnR, U2, Van Halen, Stones. In the days before internet/phones there were 4 street walkers on every corner, 16 per intersection once you got east of La Cienega -- day and night ~1981.
Spot where River Phoenix died October 31, 1993 (3:36), where the Doors performed as house band (3:41). Too many other to list. So much history in those 40 blocks. Thanks for posting. Great camera exposure and driving btw.

i used to live one block off the sunset strip. that was a fun place to live. still live near by but definitely a crazy vibe living there. NO place like LA to live. best decision i ever made moving here.

I can't believe that Tower Records is still in that location. I used to shop there all the time when record stores were more common. I thought they had all closed by now.
It's closed and has been for 10 years. It's a paid parking lot now. But all the signage is still up & vinyl is big again. Problem is that Russ Solomon is dead.

It looks like at least 90% of these cars are like brand new, which is insane. It's weird to see all of these upper middle class and rich people living in their safe little bubbles surrounded by similarly well-off people and higher -end restaurants and shops, as if their life is just "normal". So dis-connected from the problems of most of the world. Being able to distance yourself from the real-world seems very comfortable.
Edit: I am by no means hating on the rich. Being successful is good in my eyes, and I have no right to the money they earned, or their parents earned. If I want to be rich, then I'm going to get there myself by creating a new product, business, opening a Psychiatry clinic, etc lol

Not everyone is born with a silver spoon. When you're born into poverty it's hard to get out.

Redistribution of wealth should be the main focus of every public policy programme because a more equal society is often accompanied by better standard of living for everyone, less crime, better education, higher life expectancy and more happiness.
One thing I noticed is that the streets are super clean in the area you drove around. Geez, it took two centuries to make California a great state, however, it's unbelievable how fast the politicians in San Francisco are turning it into a horror story.

When I went to visit California I saw the roads and highways dirty. There was a lot of litter. Compared to where I live, Colorado.
