Q) What study guide should you buy?
A) Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3e (It's perfect, what I used)
Q) Can you take breaks, leave and go to the restroom?

Q) What should I bring with me?
A) Bring only photo identification and school ID. Testing supplies will be issued including paper, pencil and calculator. Do not bring personal items because they will take them.

OMG I GOT INTO NURSING SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!! STARTING IN JAN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations Brooke!!
congratulations brook could you help us our who is trying to ace this test.
Brooke Sikorski How's nursing school going???
How’s nursing school?
I took my HESI exam today! I got a 94%! I finished in a little over an hour to complete. I agree that the Reading Comprehension took the longest! Great advice!
+jordangonzalez very happy to hear that!! :) great job! And yes reading comprehension was so tiring for me lol
The reading comprehension and the math section can take up the most time. The most important topics to remember for the reading comp is identifying the main idea, identifying the author's tone, making logical inferences, and meaning of a word within the story.
any feedback on the anatomy part?
How did you go through all those sections in just over an hour lol
Extremely soothing given helpful advice, thank you so much. Going to check your further videos about these topics! I truly appreciate it. I recently finished high school & am hoping to begin into the healthcare field, am already reading up on my program's requirements to get them all out of the way accomplished. This truly helped. :)
I heart you! this is wonderful. you are wonderful.
Such a helpful video. Makes me feel a lot better about taking mine in the next months. Thanks so much!!!
Great video! I am a nursing tutor and this gave me a great deal of info about tutoring for this exam--back in my day the HESI didn't even exist! ;)
I just took the HESI A2. Ijust wanted to thank you for the advice and I really think I passed because of you!
Great video. I passed the HESI with an 88. I probably would've done a lot better if I didn't wait till the last minute and cram. Your video was very helpful. I find out if I get into nursing school in November. Until then I'm my last prerequisites and watch your videos to help me get prepared. I work full time during the day so it's an evening/weekend BSN. Kind of nervous but I'm up for the challenge.
+beebee king Thats really Awesome BeeBee. These kind of comments always make me extra happy because it makes me feel like I was able to make a little difference. You did all the work though! CONGRATS! :) Let me know get accepted? Feel free ask any questions or anything if you ever need help! Thanks for dropping a line & ttys!
beebee king did you get into the nursing program?
Great video brother! Very helpful information here for those looking to score really high in the HESI exams. Also, that clip of Chester at the end had me rolling haha. Look forward to the future installations on this topic
I love his cat :D
Brittany Nicole I'll make sure to tell chester you said that.
Lol! Sounds good! Give him lots of kissses :D haha
thank you for helping us be prepare you are amazing
You are so awesome! I love your videos, super helpful!:)
+Kendall Hildreth No problem :) Hapy you dig em Kendall, Good luck on your hesi!!
I got a 93.4 overall on my first attempt! So glad.. Thank you!!!
+Laura Yany Awesome Job! Thanks for letting me know! :)
Thanks, mate. May God bless you.
Got my test coming up later in the Spring...thanks SOOOO much for this video!!!!! Very helpful!!!!
+Kaylynn Martin I'm glad this helped you! :) Good luck!
I took my test last Friday and got a 98%. I couldn’t believe it. Two of the math questions wouldn’t come out right. I wrote them down and took them home. One of them I realized what I did wrong the second one was incorrect. But I’LL GRADUATE IN 2.5 YEARS!!!! All my gen eds and electives are done. I can’t believe how real this is. I was hasty. I took an hour and a half. I swear I’m not this smart. Just impatient. I had: A&P, Vocab, Math (all adding and multiplying mixed numbers and ratios (cross multiply, come on people, how do you not get this?)), and Reading Comp.
Loved your video. You're awesome! Congratulations!! Did you memorize the metric conversions for Biology?
Where was this video months ago when I needed it! Lol. I took the HESI A2 as well and ended up buying three books to study.
Tiffanie A Aww I actually recorded this video when I first started my channel. I just never got around to editing it. Oops lol. I bought way to many books too. All you need is the "Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3e". That one was perfect. I could of saved 50 bucks just getting that. They actually had it for free at my library lol.
Thank you for this video- I recently took mine and scored a 92 percent. Talk about a relief! Anyway, thanks for sharing your journey!
My pleasure :)
Well I got official acceptance letter to nursing school. Of course that is all contingent on me passing these last prerequisite classes that I'm taking right now. But I think I'm good with that. Now my main concern is will I be able to work full time while I'm in school. I hope so because my job is with the premier healthcare system in my area and I've been with the company for 14 years. It's a good thing to already have my foot in the door here.
+beebee king
That is awesome Beebee!! :) CONGRATS!<3 It all starts now!!
P.s. I thinking full time work is a bit ambitious. You should see if they will let you be PRN and try to work as many hrs as you can. But hey you know yourself and your situation best. You can definitely do it but it might take you by surprise how much time you have to study etc. But everything is possible! I personally think I would struggle. Just a heads up and something to consider.
beebee king premier health in the Dayton area ?
New Subbie here!! Thanks so much!!!!! I'm applying to Chamberlain and will be taking this test. Keep them coming!!! NurseMurse
triFectaBeauT w Awesome! Thanks for letting me know! :) When are you taking your test? Welcome to my youtube nursing family
This was great! Im planning to attend nursing school(non traditional student) and want to be as prepared as possible...getting my paperwork in order. I don't want to assume anything as I've been out of college for years and my brain isn't as fresh as it was lol. I def plan to use your tips....makes perfect sense!
+MrsRyderRuns You got this! As long as you prepare adequately you will do well!! Happy studies and good luck! :D
I took it yesterday and It was okay. I got a 87% overall.
For me the hardest part was the 4 hour time because I usually reread the questions 3times and double check my answer. (I take about an hour to finish the reading module)
My advice is start doing a practice test with a mcgrawhill book and time urself. & Also start reading vocabulary words, medical terms, and memorize the conversions both metric and english system.
+mark virgil tablo Great job! 87% is really good!
where can we find the videos where you talk about how to study for each part on the hesi exam
I love this! Thank you so much!!!
+zoenicolelopez Absolutely! I am so glad it helped you! When are you taking your hesi test? I am making new videos based on Hesi exam very soon! Good luck! :)
+NurseMurse My HESI is scheduled for this Saturday! :( Thank you! One other question- is physics a section on the exam?
+zoenicolelopez So soon! It feels great once it's finally over and you get your application turned in! :) There might be! It just depends on the school and what sections they include. I doubt it as physics has nothing to do with nursing but you could look on your nursing schools website under their hesi information is where they might have a blurp about it. At least that's how my schools website is. Let me know how it goes! :)
I bet! I will be taking the exam twice. These are the requirements on my school's website:
Math,
Reading Comprehension,
Vocabulary and General Knowledge,
Grammar,
Anatomy and Physiology, and
Critical Thinking.
Do you think this means that biology, chemistry, and physics are going to be dismissed? Just wanting to get your opinion.
Sorry for all of the questions and thanks again for your help!
It's totally ok! I do not mind at all! :) So yes there will be no physics, bio or chem! YAY :) hahah. Kill it girl!
I got my Hesi coming up bro good advise.
I took all sections of the test today but physics and got a 93 overall from studying just the HAER guide. I scored an 84 in a&p so that brought me down a bit. There were several science questions that I had no idea on so my score could have been pure luck.
I could find the book online... would you be able to verified the site please. And also can the book be use for other major
What study guide do you recommand to buy?
nursemurse, how can i study for reading comprehension? what did you use? what strategies can i use for reading comprehension. I have my exams next week
hello,
can you please tell me the two books you was holding so i can buy it in Barnes & Noble. I already own the Admission assessment exam guide, thank you.
Thank you
I got an 89.6% overall :) I just bought the assessment book and googled some questions online. This was super easy! I heard it's comparable to the NCLEX exam so if you do well on this, you're set for becoming a nurse! The book helps a lot. I think most schools require an 80% and above on each composite score.
I definitely recommend studying conversions! I got an 88% on math because I didn't memorize any of them!
congrats! Its kind of similar to nclex just different material and harder questions but if your a good test taker naturally you will be fine!! (and if your not you will be fine as well, just have to study really, really hard)
NurseMurse thanks. That is the thing though-I am not the greatest test taker at all! Lol. I tend to overanalyze questions
Nika Lashae I went over the whole book! However, I went over my weakness areas a little bit more
Nika Lashae good luck :) you will do great!
Awesome video!! I studied for 2 weeks and I took the the exam A2 earlier today. Scored a 90 cumulative. I used the hesi 3rd edition the McGraw Hill. The biology was much more broader than that in the Hesi book. Somehow, I scored 100 on the chemistry and that's subject I studied the least! My school only gave 4 hours to complete all sections :-((( You motivated me! Thank you!
+Ssash E 100 on chemistry! NICE JOB! :) aw, I'm really happy that you found this motivating. Enjoy being a nursing student! You are definitely getting in with those scores! :)
How long did you study to prep for the test? (days? weeks? months?)
did anyone take this test for radiology.
I don't see any of your studying videos for Hesi, can you please send the link?
I take my test next Tuesday im sooooo stressed and scared ! thank you!
+Aileen Stogden How did you do??? :)
Hello. I want to prepare myself for this test. I see the books you used. Is the test most likely to be the same as the books you went over or is there a slightly difference between the practice books and the test? I hope I get an answer from you soon.
Do you feel the study guide questions are very similar to the ones on the test, similar content, format, etc? Thanks!
Why does my school require Teas??? No calculators, certain amount of time is given and then when it is over, it shuts down. When I took it, I found the time flying by soooo quick. Especially on Reading and Math (because you actually going through material in details/calculating on the digital pad and pen).
At least we were alllowed to take breaks :))
Thank you for the video! Very structured and informative! Your confidence rocks haha
I also had to deal with the dreaded TEAS haha
Florida Life Thanks Florida Life! I appreciate that, I try to keep it confident but not arrogant. :) Ya this test is so nerve-racking before hand but really it isn't that bad if you study.
how long did you study each chapter. Did you use some reference book. im taking the kaplan test august 20 I need some tips please thanksi want to pass.
what are books you showed in the video (can you name th ebook)
hey bro for the personality and learning style sections, do those questions affect your score?
Hi, I passed the hesi, however I need to improve my reading comprehension score. Please advise
What book would you recommend the best for guide study?
Thank you for making this! I have to take it before February 1st! Is there no physics on the test?? Some of my books have a physics section..or did your school not require it?
My school did not require it. Good luck Jillian! :) Let me know how it goes!
Did you find any variation between the 3rd & 4th editions of the book you recommended? I bought the newer one, but would hate to miss anything (though I'd assume it to be the opposite.) My school recommended the older one, but I wanted the online materials the 4th edition had.
Thank you so much for posting. I take the test tomorrow! I am beyond nervous since for my school you need a 92% to be competitive. Do you think I am well prepared if I only used the Hesi Admission Assessment and quizlet flash cards?
+Brianne Frias I think you will be good actually! Thats what I used and it was more than adequate! At this point I would say get a good night's sleep, a big breakfast, bring coffee with you and you got this!! let me know how you do if you would!
I took it and scored a 86 overall. Did your school look at the "conclusions" subcategory?
did you ever create the how to study for the hesi a2 exam individual sections? i couldn't find them and i tried clicking the pop up but it did not work.
Thanks dude. Appreciate the info. I'll be taking the HESI here in CO after this next semester.
+Alex Droessler Sweet man where at? I'm in Foco!
+NurseMurse where abouts is foco? Im a recent transplant from FL. Still not privy to all the lingo out here lol
+Alex Droessler Fort Collins, You?
Ahhh Of course lol I'm down in Wheat Ridge CO. Actually have some questions for you.You an email I can reach you at? Thanks
Ya man, nursemursepatrick@gmail.com Hit me up!
Thanks
hello,
I want to know if you have to study the entire periodic table for the chemistry part or do they provide it for you?
What did you use to study?
how long.did you study for the hesi test
Hey Nurse Murse! Thanks for all the great videos. Working on my nursing prerecs at FRCC. I bought the hesi review book that you recommended. I am trying to decided what to do about chemistry. Do you recommend taking the chemistry and biology classes to prep for hesi or if I put in the study time at home will I be O.k? I feel good about reviewing biology at home but I'm worried about the chemistry. Thanks in advance for any advise you might have! B.T.W... Happy Snow Day!!
+Stephanie Caudill I was in same boat. Worried about the chem and decent with bio, as I just took the bio 111 class. I found that what we did in bio 111, talking about electrons and stuff was enough for the chem section! Though I memorized the first 20 elements and their proton numbers. I would do that if I was you! I think I got lucky on the chem section but the review book tells you what you need to know. Good luck and happy snow day to you too! Very cool you go to FRCC :)
+NurseMurse thanks very much for the reply! Great advise. I'll try to take bio 111 over the summer. Then micro in the fall and I'll be ready for HESI! Good luck as you finish this semester strong!
Aw thanks! You too! Have fun with it! :)
For a month how many hours a day is best if you study 4 days a week .
did you study a different subject each day or break it down
For chemistry, did you have to memorize the periodic table? Did you memorize formulas like density or volume?
HELP! I am swamped with classes and Need to order HESI 2A Study guide book and can't narrow it down to just one, or even two tops. Which study guides have proven most useful? I really need to order it and start studying I take the exam in a few weeks.
I have the 3rd edition version of the book. Do you think this version is still okay, or should I purchase the 4th edition?
hi!! love your videos ;)
so going to sit for a Hesi entrance in a few weeks. .don't have a study guide but have been using a Pax study guide workbook...I think it will be similar? any vocab?
+Jennifer klein Aww thanks Jen! Sorry I'm so late in reply! I am not sure about the pax. If it is made for nursing school entrance tests it should be similar! Hesi tests may or may not have vocab. It just depends on your school! Good luck! :)
Ty so much!! So nervous but trusting. ..April 1st is my big day!! I've been drilling on conversions and science. ..keep up all the great work and support !!
Then you definitely got this! Once you get the conversions/math down it is really easy. :) Let me know how it goes! :D
Hi, just curious if you got a chance to do a video about how to study and prep for the chemistry section? I didn't see it. Thanks for all the help! I am taking my exam next week :)
+Alexis Walsh Sorry I didn't get back to your comment. There is been problems with youtube updating me on new ones. I plan to make that down the road. Honestly I should have it out by now but have been too busy. Good luck on your test and hope this video helped a bit!
How did it go? For chemistry, did you have to memorize the periodic table? Did you memorize formulas like density or volume? Did you memorize what elements are metal and no metal?
Hello,
can you please tell me what are the names of the two guide books you are holding?? I already own the Admission Assesment exam review guide, thank you.
what do you recommend for the Anatomy section? I took the HESI and passed everything except A&P :( i take the test again in 3 weeks .
I'm currently taking chemistry and math for liberal arts. In jan -May I plan to take intro to stats and anatomy and physiology one, then during the summer I'm going to take AP2 lecture and lab do you have a list of of study guides or books that you prefer to use to study for the hesi entrance exam ?
+apd2013 If you take math, chem and a&P and do well in those classes you are going to destroy the hesi. The best book is this one!
www.barnesandnoble.com/p/admission-assessment-exam-review-hesi/1100098246/2673016253548?st=PLA&sid=BNB_DRS_Marketplace+Shopping+Textbooks_00000000&2sid=Google_&sourceId=PLGoP20437&k_clickid=3x20437
I saw some physics in the last part of the HESI book but I didn't really hear you talks about that part. so will HESI test including the physics part? (My book is 4th edition)
I got out of the marine corps December 15, did 4 years of service, and I haven't been in a school setting in 5 years smh. I'm taking the hesi test tomorrow, I only had 2 weeks to study so this will be a nightmare for me lol....
I’m so lost for this exam! I will be taking it in December but have no ideia how to study of nobody to give me a hand! I’m afraid 😕
Taking within half an hour. I am nervous because I was not able to prepare because of summer classes.
Do you have a link to your videos that go over the specific sections of the HESI A2 exam?

@@readyforthehesi For chemistry, do I have to memorize the periodic table? Do I have to memorize formulas like density or volume? Do I have to memorize what elements are metal and no metal?
Hi, I was wondering what study guide you had used to study for the exam? By the way, thank you for lowering my anxiety towards this test lol. I am scheduled for it in this May 2016.
+Monica Sharma Awesome Monica! Glad i could help! good luck! :) I used this book Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3e!
Idk if you know anything about PCAT, but would you say it's easier or harder than that? I scored >90th percentile but nursing is a bit different so I'm nervous.
I'm sorry if you already went over this or if someone already asked this question; what should I use to study the Chemistry and biology portion of the HESI exam? Do you recall any questions? Any help is appreciated, thank you.
I studied the first 20 or so elements and proton numbers then reviewed the chapters in my bio book. Good luck!
Was each section timed? I read somewhere that the Math section would have maybe 15 questions and only 15 minutes to complete. Based on your video, this doesnt seem correct.
where are your study videos?
NureMurs. how can i improve my math? I got a 64%
Hey. So I'm starting to learn about the HESI A2 exam to know how to prepare and be ready by the time i need to take it. I still have 4 semesters to go before i can try and take it, I'm still working on my prerequisites. I'm very worried about the math portion... any ways I'm just checking your video and subscribed to your channel and i will use the tools you recommend.
Usually the school you are applying to has certain sections that will be on the HESI. Some people have chemistry, others have anatomy, and others have physics. It depends on the school. Save all your notes for your major classes to review before the exam. You don't really need to start preparing until around 2 months before you take the exam, but you need to figure out which subjects are on it first, that way you can knock out those courses and have them already under your belt.
can you use a calculator?
is the hesi a2 exam only for nursing?
OK thx
+Waiting 4 Our blessing NP :)
Hi! Thanks for the information! Can you link me to your other HESI prep videos? Thanks much!
I am hoping to get on this soon. Thanks Aime. Good luck on Hesi!
Hi, I'm going to take the Hesi in September but I'm very worried abou it because English is my second language. Do you think that this book (Hesi Admission Exame Review) would be enough for me to study about the English portion (Reading Comprehension, Grammar and Vocabulary) or do you suggest other book? Thanks.
+valbrownrj1 I think that book is your best bet but it is hard for me to make a call one that. I feel that is the best book for everyone to get. Good luck on your test!! You can do it!
I'm trying to apply for nursing school for May 2016 term I've done all my pre reqs just needa take my hesi I'm so nervous , you need to pass all sections there's 5 in total .
+Delcine Doreus Congrats thats so exciting! Won't be long and you will be hitting those books and studying hard! Good luck on your hesi! Also I couldn't tell if you were all asking me if there was 5 sections but it really depends on your school. Some schools offer sections that other schools don't. Best is to check with your advisor or nursing program. Let me know how it goes and when you get in!! :)
What books did you purchase for the hesi? And which ones were the most helpful in getting the score you made?
xoxo love Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3e (It's perfect, what I used)
www.amazon.com/Admission-Assessment-Exam-Review-3e/dp/1455703338/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431796919&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=Admission+Assessment+Exam+Review%2C+3e+%28It%27s+perfect%2C+what+I+used%29
NurseMurse I bought 3 different books and that book is the best.
What about the A2 admission review book for the 2015-2016 version? Would that be the equivalent to the 3e that you used or should I get the 2015-2016 version instead?
+Raquel Cox This is the book i used and I thought it rocked. evolve.elsevier.com/cs/product/9781455703333?role=student&dmnum=03983&gclid=CjwKEAiAmNW2BRDL4KqS3vmqgUESJABiiwDTm1ZGEzQwBRs1DgKQIEFb-L13bMKhGvmNoo_hRLz2rhoC3aHw_wcB#fo_c=1253&fo_k=ae5ef101d41fdceb0b75697bafd0954e&fo_s=gplaus
The school I'm attending dies not accept HESI only TEAS is that bad? At there any study guides you know of that may help
+Waiting 4 Our blessing I would search "TEAS, Rachel P" on youtube and it should help you. I don't know much about TEAS. Sorry!
when you go into the test are you provided with a formula sheet for the chemistry part of the test? I take my HESI the Monday after next.
How did it go? For chemistry, did you have to memorize the periodic table? Did you memorize formulas like density or volume? Did you memorize what elements are metal and no metal?
for the math portion, what can i use the calculator for? like converting a fraction to a decimal? what can i not use a calculator for and should know?
Marlene Oliveira basic calculator that you can't input mixed numbers unless you put them in decimal form first. The math was so basic you can do it just as fast not converting it and just writing it out on paper by finding a common denominator.
thank you...i passed!
what is the study guide book? i want to take it this fall
+Alysha Gump Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3e
do all schools make you take the chemistry section? even if its not a required class for the nursing program at your school?
+jane caffine I think the schools get to pick which sections they offer. You may want to talk with your school/advisor. They would know best!
Hi! I am taking the HESI exam in a few months and my school only requires every section, but the biology and chemistry section. Do I still need to study these sections? Your video was really helpful.
if they don't require you will not be tested. No need to worry! Good luck! :) and happy to help!
Thank you so much! Good luck with your nursing school, you will be a wonderful nurse!
hey man!! so all the questions have multiple choices?
+nOnEoFyAbUsSiNeS fvcker Yes sir they are multiple choice. Maybe some fill in blank on math but not very many. It's hard to remember now being it was so long ago.
so much of it its stuff i reviewed for my registered medical assistant exam
Omg I'm doing mine this Friday ! :-(
+san dy Why sad face??? lol You got this!!
Does the Chemistry portion provide a Periodic Table?
no it does not
Is the book you used the one by elsevier?
+Selina Shireman Yes it is! Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3e
how about the critical thinking? how many questions are, please let me know because I am taking it in 2 weeks. thanks
helen gemeda there were 55 questions on all my tests (I realize you already took it but figure someone else may have the same question)
i am currently studying for my hesi exam for jersey college and they only include the math and reading comprehension is it graded the same way
+Shanelle Grant Yes it is. Those sections will average together. Good luck! I'm from NJ originally
