Praying Before Nursing School Exams - Does it help?

- God helps me each and everyday of my program to keep my stress low and my mental focused. It's by his grace and power that I have become the man I am today. I want to share this with you!
I know people are easily offended by religion. This video is out of love. I do not hope to offend anyone but this is truly how I feel. I hope you understand and this helps you lower your own stress. It is amazing to me thus far in my journey being able to see God work and mold me into who I hope to become. A kind, fun, loving and compassionate nurse. I pray he shows you the same guidance and that you all excel in your journey!

God is always GOOD whether we succeed or fail. I do pray before exams in thanksgiving of whatever harvest Jesus will bring; and I do my best to stay thank you to God after the test before I know the results.

I'm no longer a nursing student got my pn license taking a break before going to RN but I remember I pray every test even when I took my nclex I had a 70% chance of passing while everyone score in the 90's and I pray and fasted bfore my nclex and I ended running out of time and answer 202 questions and because of his grace I pass!

Thanks a lot for this! I've struggled with anxiety and blockage for the whole year and failed basically all exams this term,whoch brought me into dark places with lots of anxiety that didn't seem to vanish. I've been spending time with God lately and I know he got this and Cates for every struggle I have. I have another exam tomorrow and I feel calm, because God is just with me on this, he will be there with me and guide me. And while I might get anxious tomorrow again I will regain strength through prayer.

Amen! I'm a pre-nursing student and I'll be applying to nursing school next spring. I'm taking Biology this semester and my teacher is crazy tough. My I truly believe that God has carried me through my Biology class. After every test I never felt great about it even though I studied. I would be so stressed out the night before that I would cry. I would pray and ask God to lead me and guide me through the test and to give me great recall. Anyways, long story short I have not gotten lower than an 85 on a test and I have an A. God is good!!!!!!!! :) Thank you for posting this and lifting us up. Keep up the great work!!!!! You are going to be an amazing nurse.

Stumbled on this, and I needed to hear this more than anything. I cried at the end. I am a first year nursing student, and due to issues studying and issues at home making it hard to focus, it's been difficult. I am failing, my final is Friday and I need 70 points to pass, the final is 60 points. My first year did not go well. I find labs and medications the hardest for me. I feel this is what I am meant to do, though, and do not want to give up. This video and the fact I keep finding stuff that will help me next year when I try again if I can is cementing in my heart that I can't give up. Not yet.
Thanks for being vulnerable and telling your story here. You are not alone! I get these types of messages all the time and I believe you will be able to get through this. Great Video! It is so easy for us Nursing students to forget that God is with us. We lean so much on our knowledge, and ourselves that I think we forget that God will help us if we work hard and ask for his help. I am guilty.... Next exam will be different.

Thank you for sharing your testimony! Prayers changes everything. I accepted Jesus Christ in my heart few years ago. I was going through a difficult time. I wanted to fix everything myself and when I couldn't I fell on my knees and asked God to help me. I kept praying and praying and felt his presence. I see the goodness in him everyday. He has soften my heart and mind and I praise him everyday for his love, mercy and grace. God continues to provide. He is a loving, faithful God.
My first exam is today.

That's awesome. Before every test, our lecture teacher will ask if anyone has an objection to it, but will read a passage from the bible that she has picked out. In this day and time, I think that's a really cool thing to do. I'll listen to her, say a prayer of my own to myself, and it's amazing how much clarity you gain from that. It works for sure!

Listen, I am finishing up my second semester of nursing school. Before EVERY exam, quiz or check off I declare VICTORY IN JESUS NAME! And I have passed EVERY LAST ONE. So, YES, it does work.

Wow. I really needed this. Just finished my first year of Prenursing & I bombed it. I got so sidetracked, distracted, discouraged, and distant from my faith that I've been thinking about changing my major. This is the third video I've watched of yours & I'm so glad I did!!

+AuxSeaux Napturale504 When do you take your admissions? Just keep at it! I think the confidence comes from knowing that I don't have to know everything yet. You know? Like.. You are exactly where you need to be at that moment in your nursing journey. Just focus on your prerequsties and when the time comes to prepare for the admission give it 100%. I am sure it will work out for you!
NurseMurse Thank you for responding. I'm finished with my prerequisites. The only thing that has held me back for a couple years is myself. I've never been the best at taking standardized tests, and that has been with me throughout my life. I'm actually about to enlist in the USAF, but I would still like to pursue my degree once enlisted. There's something that's not allowing me to stray away from being a nurse or caregiver.

You definitely inspired me tarts how I felt I was in school but was lost. Now I am praying and studying and God is coming through for me. Amen!! I can vouch for this too! I tried testing out of a couple courses that I hadn't studied or even thought about since high school (ten+ years ago!). Prayed each time before going in (and asked my prayer warrior fb friends to too-which I also recommend!) and each of the three I passed. The whole time taking it, just giving God the opportunity to increase my faith; don't know how many times in these instances and numerous other tests I just giggle inside saying, "yep, I don't know this question so it's all You, Lord!" Sorry for rambling, God is great and rely on Him and allow Him to increase your faith daily!!! That's all I'm trying to say! :D

This was a great inspirational video man! I was actually diagnosed with a anxiety disorder in nursing school with dealing with stuff and the course load. I found that I just had to trust in my own skills going into the exam and pray. Thirty minutes before a exam, I listen to some music that gets me pumped or inspirational and then take it.

Love this video! I completely believe with hard work that God can bring things to our attention and help with anxiety during tests. My favorite verse right now is Philippians 4:6. It's a great reminder.
+Colleen Joslin :) that verse is def a keeper. I have been trying to pray before like every major decision and it's been really helping. From what I can tell some biggest mistakes most people have made in the bible are due to not waiting on God for the answer. He typically hooks it up if you do that. Ha.

That happens to be in nursing tests too where I feel like I failed and then my test grade comes out to be way higher than I expected.

Hey nurse murse, Cant belive it man, i prayed to god that i hope i got a 75 percent in this rest cause i really needed it. unfortuately my prayers werent answers by god and eneded up with a c and did horrible in the mc question i only got a 18 out of 30 man and the biggest thing about this is that i needed a 75 minimum on this to get a b in walking into the exam man i feel horrible man. I prayed like crazy too man I dont know how i feel right now man Im thinking more like betrayed more than ever cause i was praying for this the whole time
The thing is know we have one more exam on friday and now if i wanna get a B in the course i gotta get a 80 percent on this test and from my last test im not feeling confident man, I feel like i was left or betrayed or something man idk. I feel like I got c's on my last mc runs so what is gonna make this different you know. pray for me brotha
+Daniel Frayne I know what you mean man. When I was in peds I was was really scared about failing the first test. I studied to the point of beyond stressed out and prayed the whole time too. (I heard everyone fails the first test from an upper classman) Well I took the test and guess what... I got like a 75% on itt was horrible. I remember leaving going into my car and screaming. Also thinking that God totally betrayed me and I did everything right. Sometimes that is just how it goes man. BUT that being said I feel like I learned way more than I would have if I didn't fail that first test. I stepped up my game and became way more focused. I hope this works out for you bro. This was interesting because I was just about to make a post on another video of yours. I study so hard for these tests and quizzes and still bomb them. When I was in fundamentals I was called on to pray before a test, and I did. I pray before every test I take but seem to keep failing them. I'm starting to doubt if I'm supposed to be a nurse. I've asked God over and over again if this is the direction I'm supposed to go but feel like he's not answering. On top of that I keep failing these test after studying like crazy. I don't feel anxious or stressed out before the test. I just don't know what to do anymore.
Hey Dorian, I'm sorry to hear that! I'll throw some prayers your way too. In my experience there is also seasons where it seems God isn't answering. Maybe you are called to Nurse but if you aren't I'm sure later down the road there is something better for it is meant for you. I'm not convinced your not called to be a nurse (only you would know). I do know that anyone who has the drive and heart for it is capable. You need to fail to succeed. It's part of the journey.

+NurseMurse Yes. It's a lucky ritual of mine to toss a little money and give thanks. I also ask various angels and deceased family to aid me. I'll pray to whoever to dominate my exams.

I don't have any backlogged now. I don't like to do that anymore. I just record as the mood hits. That way, everything that I drop is currently relevant to me immediate mood and situation. But yea, back then when I made that video I probably had a good 6 or 7 backlogged; which I didn't even release hardly any of them
Ya man thats how I do it too. I been trying to get on that one a week roll but man this schedule is so crazy w/ clinicals. I'm hoping I get inspired on something between now and next week ha. I wish I had a backlog though ha.

+NurseMurse yes, I would like the full song. The words "Jesus Christ" and "I may write to the lonely people," got my attention because I just got my CNA certificate 2 days ago and I passed. I should be happy, but I'm still feeling lost and lonely and waiting for the Lord to answer my prayers and help me with my personal relationship and family struggles. He did answer my prayers for passing CNA :) so that is a start.

God is amazing! He will bring us through all of our struggles but we must pray and believe that He will do it. Personally, I had to learn to trust God again and just leave doubt and fear alone and turn to God. God will never fail. Yes, God really does put us through situations to learn, grow and help others. +NurseMurse If I feel fear I will read psalm 91: 1 - 16 but if I am not fearful and just want to read some scriptures I may read some from Matthew, Proverbs, or James. I would also like to add if I am feeling a certain type of emotion I will google scriptures and read that chapter that targets that emotion.
I do the same thing w/ google! I really enjoy proverbs!

Man you can get PREACHY! ... I am still amaze at how great God is. I just finished my first semester, and My first Pharm exam, I studied so hard and when I got the test, I quickly froze up, I said a prayer and til this day I don't remember not even 1 question from that exam and I got an 88. God is Great! Its just something about knowing God got your back.

I always pray before my exams and God has shown me if I lean on Him, everything will be work out. Everytime I think to myself "there is no way I can pass this exam," I always end up passing. Its nothing but God's grace that has gotten me this far! To literally see Him moving and guiding me in my life is amazing! I feel so blessed!

Before every test I pray to God and I ask him, please help me remember the things I have studied. It helps me knowing he has my back and there have been many times where I could not believe the grade I got. I know it's because of Him! He showers us with so many blessings! I can't thank him enough!
