Hi guys welcome to my very first video! Just want to apologize for tripping over my words & stuttering so much lol I’m still very new to this! Either way I hope you guys find it helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions or even any suggestions!

Studying in advance
I began my studying in the summer and 2 months into the semester. The reason why I started so early is that I didn’t wanna study for let’s say 2-3 weeks and then have to sit and study for 8hrs at a time. This allowed me to study about 2 hours a day which is much more manageable for me. In addition I feel that you are more likely to retain information if you are exposed to it over a long period of time.
A&P
Your A&P books from school will be your best friend. I noted in the video that you should supplement the a&p portion in the video as well. The reason for this is that the subject matter is so expansive that it’s hard for the prep books to cover everything I’m a few pages. It is possible to study for it on your own without taking those classes but I highly suggest Other people’s quizlets and look up specific videos on the anatomy portion if you plan to do so.

I'm really sorry about that but i got used to it until i succeeded, i failed 6 times before i finally passed, it would have been 6 but Mr James saved me from failing again

Hey guys, yes I did pass on the first try. I actually forgot about this since I graduate in January! I suggest studying with repetition-whether it’s going over things over and over on flash cards or writing things down repeatedly. The exam wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be, just try to single out the stuff you need more review on and focus on that. Good luck :)

@@dianapineda5782 Are you thinking of the associate nursing program? I study at HCC but I am not in there nursing program because I am trying to get into a 4 semester nursing school for a BSN. I have to take the HESI and I have to the Reading, Math, Vocabulary, Grammar and Anatomy and Physiology sections. I suggest you go on the HCC Colman College website. It should tell you there or you can call them. Right now they are doing the HESI exams through ProctorU due to the pandemic.

The math portion is i think the easiest part so long as ykno the basic like elementary grade math

Thanks for the tips! The video you made is excellent and super creative. Was the app similar to the book? How was it better or different?
Meela Bliss the app is good because it asks you so many different questions that it really helps you make sure you have all your bases covered. For example in anatomy there will be questions on specific things the kidneys do. If you can’t answer them then you know to go back and study the renal system more! My whole thing is find as many prep questions as you can and if you can answer all of them correctly then you’re golden! I did about 300-400 on the pocket prep app in addition to the ones in the two prep books. The books and the app all ask questions in a different way. Hope this helps!

Are the questions on pocket prep same as in actual exam? Iam nervous about reading comprehension, I take my exam in 4 days, I have been using pocket prep
No, unfortunately no prebook or pocket prep will have the same problems as the exam but they're similar enough to get your ready!

I only got 72 hours to prepare for the HESI! OMG, trying to study now. Luckily they let me pass with a 60% so i hope i understand enough information to pass, lol!

hey, yes once you pass the hesi then you can apply for the nursing program at your school. make sure you find out when the deadlines are for admission!

You don’t need that long at all! I just didn’t want to spend long days studying so I spread it out

Which college do you go to?
Where I live the Hesi exam does not have anatomy section, only like health assessment/ diagnosis questions, like: " A client is admitted with a suspected malignant melanoma on the arm. When performing the physical assessment what would the nurse expect to find?
Is this still the Hesi A2 Exam to get into the nursing program?
Yup, some schools vary
On the HESI A2 and the books that I used, there is no section that goes over health assessment. There are 8 possible sections: math, reading, vocabulary, grammar, biology, physics, anatomy and physiology and chemistry. So maybe your school requires a different version? I know the HESI A2 that I took is the most common.
@@XxRainbowPopsiclesxX some schools don't text on anatomy, though they are very few. Health assessment is similar to critical thinking.

I am freaking out! I have been studying on and off for my HESI and I finally take it a week from now.... please comment on this post with any helpful tips... I am on quizlet and also have one of the books she mentions on this video and I am being tested on math, reading, grammar, and vocabulary. Yes it all sounds so easy but I do struggle with 3/4.
I have my spouse use the vocabulary in our conversations; he asked how he could help. Math dude is amazing!!! UA-cam has helped me better retain things than the books. I stay off all media, except for UA-cam and have been Mia. It has helped me better focus on the reading. I take it all in, read slow, retain it, then pick the answer. Don’t think of it as a chore to read, but you are learning something interesting. It helps not feeling overwhelmed looking at all those paragraphs, with that being said before reading. I take melatonin at night, to make sure I get quality sleep. I hope any of this helps.
