Loved this! reminds me of going to Manheim Colchester lat 1990's! Just for the experience, then started buying cheap and cheerful in what I called 'Banger Night' every Thursday evening. I can remember tatty Sierras going through for £25 sold. I employed a bit of 'Bangernomics' through a bad time (Divorce) and on two ocassions bought cars that others there laughed at - a 1986 Audi 90 2.0 for £90 plus fees, fresh MOT after replacing steering rack with used one and some cheap lowering spring as a front one had cracked - 187000 miles up I ran it og 5 months before trading it plus cash for an e34 BMW 535i that did its head gasket a week after I picked it up! But crazziest was a Renault Saffrane 2.5 - huge seats, leather ligned dar (fake wood) barge that was so quiet and comfortable, cost me £200 + fees, ran it for 5 months before head gasket went, never spent a penny on anything but fuel and road tax. Those was the days!
Love those days ,, so many cheap cars from YES car credit ! Even bought a car for £5 .. no buyers fees under £30 … probably 20 years ago !, A pair of trainers cost more than a car !
The car market used to have a lot of older wrecks that ran. Sadly ULEZ and scrappage schemes have sent so many off and the recent lack of new cars and better build quality have killed them off
Jump in the cars bud as soon as keys come out, check clutch, windows, blower, everything you can, not the cool way to do it, but it'll save you some nasty fixes, rev the boll**ks off them as well, check for smoke, open bonnet and do your checks as well, you might feel a dick but it'll save you a fortune, plenty of high clutches, non working windows all that stuff at auction, maybe even plug a dongle in if poss, most auctions clear lights, I've seen em do it, look underneath as well, I've had some nasty oil leaks recently, all good advice mate.
Lovely bit of luxury motoring that blue BMW for £6.5k Imagine paying well over £100k for it new just to watch it go through an auction for that price just over a decade later 😢
This was great. Freelander 2 are awesome cars and very reliable. The one I used to own is now on 264,000 miles. Still drives up and down to the South of France. 2.2 engines are v reliable.
Hi Joe & Toby. Nice to see (joe) had his sensible head on today. There were quite a few "Scotland" registered cars I saw. The Eco Fiesta, being one. Probably why the wing is rusting ?? 🤷♂🤷♂. See you in the next one. Cheers. 👍👍
Great video. Seemed to be a very sucessful auction. G3 is quite a schlep, but you bought some nice looking stock there, hopefully some were 'cleaners' cars 😂
Enjoyed that ta. At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, why not take a pen with you and scribble a short note against cars you want and cars you've ruled out - just a few words would do it
Love the auction action, you've done ok there, should be nice profits.great advice to anyone bidding, make sure you go over the car again on the drive through, there's always a chance of a nasty surprise low down on the sides somewhere.
remember checking if the cambelt/wetbelt have been changed on the Ecoboost and it has digital servicebook so meaby there's some more servicehistory to get at Ford
55:00 same wheels as mine… That’s a limited edition gtc you can tell by the 20” rims and the front bumper is more like the vxr version with different styling on the corners where the fog lights sit.. also makes the bumper in that condition worth around £1600 complete.. I picked up one last year 2016 68k only one that didn’t have 2-4yrs advisories for oil leaks like the other 5 I was looking at.. paid £4300.. I will say one thing though I’m never buying another black car bastard always looks dirty where my last silver car never looked dirty…
You'd have been as well pushing for the up and the note, easy (hopefully) no trouble, little prep, quick sellers, even if your on say 800 quid net, it's a good, easy return, cars like that will always make top money at auction, but will be easy flippers.
Hello from Ireland again Joe. I do love an Astra Gte, Joe (Wink, Wink) lol. Lovely Kia, and that Fiesta, We don't get many of those over here, wow what a nice looking Mondeo. That Nissan Note looks very cheap at £3,600. Joe, that Mini Clubman went for £3,600. £4000 out the door. I'm going to Wreck Your Head next February or around that time lol. And 15 Saab's Joe, at £200 each. Job done 😅😅😅. I haven't seen an Auction video like this for a while, it was brilliant, Joe. Wicked day Mate. Well, I enjoyed it, probably better than you lol. 🙏🙏👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great Video see the Wink Ladies a few times. Can't believe how cheap the Saab 9-3 was £200 and looked remarkably clean. Look forward to Saturdays Weekly 😊
The 1.6BlueHDi on the Citroens and Peugeots can suffer with adblue issues, sometimes can be lucky and it’s just a nox sensor but many cases it’s the injector in the adblue system and unfortunately you have to buy a whole new tank Citroen and Peugeot don’t sell the injector separate. The engines themselves pretty reliable it’s just that dam adblue nonsense. I am a Citroen nut always will be but I know they ain’t faultless. Shame about that other Cactus you bought not many in that colour either especially the Feel model having the turbo 1.2 110. Most Feel Puretech are 1.2 82 non turbo.
Three years with an Insignia company car - I think it was ok but it was so bland I can't recall anything about it. I can't even remember if it was dark grey or dark silver - when people talk about modern cars being white goods my memory should leap to the Insignia but its left an indelible blank on my memory. How can you do 140k miles in 3 years and remember nothing? I may have had my memory wiped I dunno.
"Vectra with the missing grill" - why are there so many Vauxhall Vectras on the road with no badge on the front, or an Opel badge? Badge on back is Vauxhall but not front.
Most of them looks like they are on sale from John Clark group. No relation to Arnold as far as I know😊. JC group has a few dealerships across Scotland.
Was on the m6 going York a few weeks go and saw a brand new 9 car transporter with central car auctions over it, not heard of them before well I had heard of central motor auctions which became Manheim but not central car auctions. Quick look on companies house Arnold Clark’s (Arnold’s son now) owns it 😂 That where arnies swappers will be going
Any one can go but you have to pay £500 deposit which you will get back if you purchase a car , unsure what happens if you don’t end up buying something , obviously you can go lots of times till you find something
Really enjoyed this video as usual. Just a random question is there a difference between bidding online and in person. I.e i see you normally put in proxy bids when away from the auction. Is there a reason why you don't an just bid as hall bidder. Cheers
I find it odd that you don’t look at Mazda, Toyota, Suzuki and Honda…. Is it because they never make it to auction? Not all cars at auction are duds but all dud cars come from auctions.
Using cars as desks again I see Joe. If they were my cars for sale and I saw you doing that, I’d kick you from one end of the auction house to the other. Have a little respect for other people’s property!
Hahaha, I’d love to see you try it. Funnily enough, I mentioned these comments from the last video to the guys at G3 and we all had a good laugh about it. Some right sad fools out there
@@ShiftingMetal more than happy to prove you wrong in a boxing ring. I’m even prepared to do it for charity for Jack. I wouldn’t get tired of punching you and teaching you some manners. This is a SERIOUS offer.
Why would I do a charity boxing match with some absolute nobody? 😂😂 You want to repeatedly punch me and I have no idea who you are. I’m in your head so I’ve already won pal
Hope you do well for yourselfs and thank you for being open and honest and realistic.
Worlds gone made !. BMW 6 series desirability score 2/100 and a sportage 97/100. WOT!
Sure if they had equal overheads and practicality then the sportage would drop quite alot!
BMWs are shit. Dog shit infact. Clung on to the brand for too long, kept hold of analog displays for too long. Shit
Not when bmw repair bill starts flooding in.
Thanks Joe!! REALLY like these auction videos!!

Sandero seat fabric, zip on and off, by design easy and cheap to fix

Exactly my thoughts, so much car for the money
They were under 70k new, the M6 were over 100k. Still alot of depreciation.

If the 640 had a dealer rating of 2 that will be me and you Joe.
Still watching the vid but my guess is the freelander is a Black Edition. It was a runout limited edition available oddly in only black...or white
@@davidash1008 it’s a Black and White edition apparently 👍

I think Fiestas are still in demand - lowish margins, but generally cheap to repair (even eco booms) and sell quickly. Small profit, quick return

Very good video Joe keep up good work 🎉
You don't like checking for oil leak s underneath then .
Some great buys there Joe. Pretty decent margins to be had.
Hiya Joe, Castleford is actually pronounced locally as Casselford, just in case you want to sound like a Yorkshireman, lol 😄 - Jess.
Funny enough I stayed in a B&B there years ago so knew that. Always useful to have local knowledge. 😊
Another great insight, Joe! 👍
Walked right passed the Volvo, Golf/Seat, Honda CRV and the DS.....
thought to begin that you were looking for cars for Chops!

BMW E60 525i has a 2.5litre engine ,6 cylinder inline, not a 3litre 😊

Either way they are poor on power for the economy they get.
Very interesting, especially your working out your margins before bidding.

A lot of Scottish cars in that auction with the S# prefix

Easy to make mistakes at auction .. everything is rushed !
How many fkin adverts you want? Mokka 14 4x4 where I live 38000 milles £7k. FFS. Poxy stepway 13 for 6k

£9700 retail on Autotrader 👍
